Thanks! Happy to know I can fit 12" Wheels and 215/40-12 easily on my stock 2015 Yamaha G29. I always use your guys articles! Appreciate all the work and info. And glad I found this video!
What the video fails to mention is that yes, you CAN fit a 12" WHEEL under most carts, but you have to go DOWN in the TIRE'S 'Sidewall Series' (meaning the tire's sidewall height). Why is this important? Simple. The higher 'Sidewall Series' on the tire (like the stock 18" tires), the SOFTER the ride. Going down to a Series 50, or even a thinner 40 series, you'll get one hell of a rough ride. I can tell you after owning a Yamaha G19, with it's inherently rough ride, you'd bounce yourself out of the cart with those 40 series sidewall 12" tires. So choose 'Cool Looks' over comfortable ride, OR spend the money and get a lift kit.
Watch the part at 1:47 in the video, we specifically mention that it is not the size of the WHEEL but the height of the TIRE that matters. Which is exactly what you're saying. And you are absolutely right that the thinner your tire is, the bumpier the ride may get. Which is why we always recommend our customers go with a "cushy" ComfortRide combo (20.5" street tire) if they can fit it on their cart with no lift. And if not, we recommend installing a lift kit and going with an even taller tire for the softest street tire ride on larger wheels =)
Fitment for the DS is mostly the same as Club Car Precedent and Onward/Tempo. Here is our video on Club Car fitment: ruclips.net/video/UjB87tFjFbQ/видео.html
