This VHS tape raised me as a kid hahaha. I watched these for entertainment as a kid, because my dad raised me playing golf and he owned these tapes. I still have them. But haven't had a VHS player for years. This is some genuine childhood nostalgia.
I put these Greg Norman tapes (& Seve, & Lee) on for my newborn daughter in 1999 while she lay in the bouncer, for hours. Newborn brainwashing with golf. High hopes, but it didn't work. Worth a shot though.
I bought these video's and absolutely love how natural and friendly he is, it REALLY made for enjoyable learning, to say the least, LOVE it, he makes you feel so comfortable, like your his friend, and he REALLY cares, and like someone mentioned, he even used the baby for super-efficient instruction, Lol!!!!!!!
Amazingly simple and effective way of teaching.... no over complications... natural.... Knew he was a great player but my respects gone up a few notches watching this video piece.... golf should be played naturally... my faults come form being TOO technical so i am taking lots of great things away from this video... and lovely touch bringing in his young boy :-)....
Not a big fan of Norman but in his defense to those who call him a "choker" , Greg has had his heart ripped out by last second heroics from opponents more than any golfer in history. Larry Mize chipping in at the 1987 Masters to win on the first playoff hole. Bob Tway at the 1986 PGA championship, holing out from the bunker on the final hole to win. Robert Gomez holing his second shot from the fairway on the last hole at the 1990 Nestle Invitational, giving him a one stroke win . David Frost holed out a 50 foot bunker shot on the last hole of the 1990 USF&G Classic to win by 1 . Greg was the number 1 player on the planet for a total of 6+ years, second only to Tiger Woods since the World Golf Rankings started in 1986. Greg has won world wide 92 times including 2 majors. He finished runner up in 8 majors including the 1986 Masters where we all know what Jack did. Yes he blew a 6 stroke lead at the '96 Masters but one bad day does not a "choker " make and if you want to rate players by how many times they "choked" and finished 2nd in a major then Nicklaus is the biggest "choker " ever with 19 2nd place finishes.
TheNYgolfer Yea...but don't forget..Norman shot over 40 on the back 9 against Bob Tway..he never should have put himself in that position to begin with
+Matt Parr Thank you so much for uploading this video. I am addicted to golf tip videos and this has by far helped my game the most. 19:12 was the game changer for me. Always have hit great shots, just struggled with consistent striking. On my first trip to the range after this I hit 140 balls and only 5 or so being duffers (a huge improvement for me). If any of you are struggling with consistent striking on irons but are pretty solid with driver, give this a shot. Having it forward felt natural to me. I was stupid before when I saw Jack Nicolas recommend the same thing... I discredited it as outdated since all the new videos seem to advise the opposite. Silly me... Doubt it works for everyones swing, but try it out for fun.
Great White Shark...he is the man...my 15 year old son just took up golf with his buddies and he told me he likes the "Shark" shirts...I said oh Greg Norman, The Great White Shark...he was like who?
i golfed at the grand cypress new old course about 15 or 20 yrs ago. my chin almost hit the counter in the pro shop when the man said $220 apiece but we paid it. we really enjoyed and a good bucket list course, like scotland in fla.
I remember an earlier instruction video Norman made ( in his early 20's ) before he cracked the US tour and when he was at his physical strongest . In this video he's hitting a blade 1 iron off the deck on a tee - he hits 8 in row and carries the ball 280 meters with a really high trajectory - every ball landed within a makeable putts distance at a flag he had placed in the middle off the fairway !
It's a video . Do you believe everything you see on a video? His driving average on tour was 250 meters so do you really think he hit a 1 iron 30 meters further further?
I was working on this the other day but i could'nt find a 1 year old kid to assist me with my takeaway so i borrowed the neighbors kid to practice the first 18 inches, i hope they didnt mind.
you forgot a few: - have a powerful desire to be the best - have great instruction/coaching - have the means to practice (have enough leisure time to make it happen) - have above average athletic ability/hand-eye coodination
Yeah, because somebody who won 89 tournaments is a total choke artist. He also played the greatest final round ever in a major championship when he shot 64 to win the 1993 British Open.
Every great golfer has choked - it just a matter of how many times they did it - technically every American pro that has lost to Tiger Woods / Golden Bear/Faldo /Watson /Ballersteous/Phil /Rory ( and all the other major winners) has choked - therefore your nation has the biggest amount of chokers in history due to your unfair/ biased amount of participating players - your nation has the greatest choker of all - the one who choked on too much pussy !
Well, what can I say, Greg Norman was a great golfer but what a showy and rather awful piece to see... Am I suppose to be impressed by his house and car? What a joke but then he was young and not "wise"... Am sure he has grown up by now...

Wow, not only an amazing player, but an excellent teacher too!
not to mention great taste in music!!!
That is the most 80s thing I have seen since the 80s. Thought I was watching Magnum PI for a while.

Top five players ever.
Drives to the course in a Testarossa well that's just awsome right there.
Godamn that's the most epic intro ever. Total Wolf Of Wall Street.
Matthew Snart hahahah I lost it
Best instruction! Practical, makes sense...phenomenal! Thanks for uploading! T-time in 1:45...
one of the best grip lessons I'd say.
Greg is an excellent teacher. I'm going to try his grip out. It looks pretty good.

You call that a knife, this is a knife.....I just loved him in all those "Dundee" movies. Those were the best.
no, this is a knife.
😂😂😂
I suppose we all ride to school on the back of a kangaroo, too...
Lmao.
Best ball striker ever. Compressed. With Old ball. It was hit properly. Give this equipment to the new guys mcilroy they won’t be playing again 😂
Clear and concise instruction grounded in common sense. Excellent.
Right on!!!!!
Never saw this before. Thanks for uploading it.
Persimmon heads and steel shafts on woods. I'd love to see the whippersnappers play a few holes with those. Memories lol.
Modern day 3 woods aren't much bigger and they hit those just fine 280 yards and more.
greg if you ever read this thanx pards, i appreciate all the hard work you put in....

TheNYgolfer so true
TheNYgolfer Yea...but don't forget..Norman shot over 40 on the back 9 against Bob Tway..he never should have put himself in that position to begin with
scott hoke rhymes with choke. norman doesn't rhyme wth robbed.
Boo Radley Totally agree! Norman couldn't close a door!
Boo Radley
It's Hoch and if pronounced properly does not rhyme with choke

I love the eighties.

Great White Shark...he is the man...my 15 year old son just took up golf with his buddies and he told me he likes the "Shark" shirts...I said oh Greg Norman, The Great White Shark...he was like who?
This video is my spirit animal.
i saw him play 3 times and watching him hit the ball and the crowds that would follow him .thanks greg .

Nicklaus did that, and with the 2 iron, so I WANTED to do it that way too!!!!!!!
there's a lot of DETAIL here for us to pick up on. Thanks Mr Norman.
The best intro ever
classic music
This video is very helpful.
Thanks for uploading his ha
Looking forward to The Shark's commentary on Fox next year!
using a baby to explain the takeaway classic awesome
no, it makes on sense lol
who doesn't love this video?
YOUR THE MAN!!!
He swings a kid better than I do my golf clubs... 29:04 :p
No camera lenses were hurt in the making of this presentation.
Um dos melhores e maiores jogadores de golfe do mundo pra mim. Aprendi muito com ele.
What pixel is Greg norman?
I love the white sports car.
I was working on this the other day but i could'nt find a 1 year old kid to assist me with my takeaway so i borrowed the neighbors kid to practice the first 18 inches, i hope they didnt mind.
Is there anyway I can download this video digitally? I have the vhs version;but would like the download as well.
I think Greg Norman was the best golfer. I feel sorry for Tiger Woods because Norman says he won't win another major golf turniment again.
Rex II ForSure what planet are you living on ...lol
SPell much?????
Rex II ForSure lol
I appreciate you uploading these!!!
The grip looks modern all in finger, jack teach left hand more on the palm
where can I get a toddler training aid? Do Taylormade make these?
Lol
how do you fit your clubs in a testarossa?
I guess when you are Greg Norman, you keep your clubs at the Golf Club LOL
oh so he only plays at 1 club? MASSIVE LOL.
@@fradaja I'd imagine he'd have multiple sets of clubs all over the place, he's worth a mint.
Person in question as far as I know they play with just one set back then
Those are true players irons
Like Nicklaus using the old ONE and TWO irons...and three, four!!!!!!!
Nicklaus' Grip Vs Norman's Grip....In the fingers or in the palm?
I wonder what car he drives? I bet it is some sort of sports car!
That Ferrari was no doubt rented! lol
I wonder what king of grip he has nowadays lol.
Unnecessary testarossa!
This is so money, what happened to this world
it took him 18 months to achieve scratch, Incredible! Even Tiger took 13 years!
Jack Was +3 when he was 13, and I thought Tiger was the same at that age. Maybe you are right.
a. Live on a golf course playing day-after-day when you're young.
b. Have some natural athletic talent.
c. Rinse, wash, repeat.
i would add two more:
d. have a tremendous drive to be the best you can be
e. have access to world-class golf instruction
you forgot a few:
- have a powerful desire to be the best
- have great instruction/coaching
- have the means to practice (have enough leisure time to make it happen)
- have above average athletic ability/hand-eye coodination
I share a birthdate with him is my closest claim to fame he would be my favorite golfer
what a swing. Some very useful info. Could've skipped seeing him show off the silly car
Small driver heads
Is the VHS as blurry as this? His head looked like a potato chip at one point.
he's totally lost his aussie accent.
so 80s campy!
It's rumoured the Ferrari was ordered with no choke
7 months have went by and not one single like. Must be a shitty joke!
This should have been renamed, "The Choke Golfer - Epilogue."
Yeah, because somebody who won 89 tournaments is a total choke artist. He also played the greatest final round ever in a major championship when he shot 64 to win the 1993 British Open.
***** Indeed, a successful capitalist and golfer, yet, a woodcutter he is a poor.
Greg Norman grip theory is why he choked in the majors with pushes under pressure.
How to choke by Gregg Norman, if he sees you coming for an autograph he quickly walks away
Probably because he sees assholes such as yourself!
Well, what can I say, Greg Norman was a great golfer but what a showy and rather awful piece to see... Am I suppose to be impressed by his house and car? What a joke but then he was young and not "wise"... Am sure he has grown up by now...
Dude it's 80s cheese...get over it...so fucking pretentious...you're probably a Brit.
What a show off though... Mansion, Ferrari... Good golfer, no class.
Idiot
一…個?.:。 一 一入一一一 ,,
I guess his instruction would have been more valuable if he lived in a shack and drove a VW bug...because those golf videos are so popular.
oh screw off norman worked his ass off
successful talented hardworking people don't deserve nice things?
