I'm praying to the God-Emperor, for Henry Cavil's W40k show to be like this
Personally, I'm hoping for a live action adaptation of the Ciaphas Cain novels, likely Gaunt's Ghosts too
Either way it will be goddamn feast for eyes and soul
The Emperor protects...
You and I both!!
Machine spirits is one of the best things about the Imperium, makes all of the massive machinery so much more "human" in a way.
Its crazy how this doesn't have more views and likes, this is insanely good. The weight of everything is perfect, you can feel the emotion and everything. well done.
it has more than half a million views, not too bad considering warhammer 40k is a niche market.
@@sam93931 The Horus Heresy cinematic trailer has 4 million.
GW Have never been good at hyping stuff.
I like how physics of spacecraft are actually realistically portrayed in this animation, depicting effects of acceleration and inertia. Nice touch
"No servo skull were harmed in the making of this episode."
If ever there is a movie-adaptation of Livia Solken, they need to get Cate Blanchette for that role - she would be perfect.
Definitely.
Blanchet would be sick, i can also picture emily blunt in the role too
There is something biblical about the shot of moving those massive broadside shells at 21:40. The way they peel their forms out of the dark, passing the light of the aquila, pulled by hundreds and hundreds of hands, the pure simplicity and determination men musters to determine its own fate in the darkness of this universe. Captures the mood of 40k perfectly.
Having cannons that big makes zero sense. Hell, you'd be able to destroy the shells mid-flight if that were the case. Grimderp.
@@davey_boy94in the 41st millennium, bigger is Always better.
@@davey_boy94 Those shells are hurled like meteors at the enemy, unless they respond with adequate kinetic/thermal force - which few enemies outside of chaos/ork fleets have (and they;ve never demonstrated any advanced point defense) - the macrocannon projectile would annihilate them. The guns are also far more robust than more advanced directed energy weapons, easily repairable and operable by downright medieval crewmen.
It's a perfectly fine weapon for the grim darkness of 40k.
@davey_boy94
Doesn’t have to make sense, just have to suspend your disbelief, have fun & that
And the music, that grand choir singing for them as they prepare to martyr themselves in the name of the Emperor
I swear you could make a whole episode about the lower gang member and slave (hell even the criminal element of a hive) of the imperium and you would not lack content for your trouble, plus it would be a good change from the usual quote on quote average heroisme of the guard and sapce marine...
The way the machine spirit of Sword of Baal is animated is fantastic!! I’d like to think it’s how exactly how I imagined communicating with a space marine vessel’s machine spirit might be (from the descriptions of Octavia communicating with both Covenant of Blood and Echo of Damnation in the Nightlords trilogy).
I like how in w40k low Gothic are potrayed as deep Irish slang
you mean scottish
Yeah I know Scottish, deep Irish slang lol 😂
That's the Low Gothic we can understand. True Low Gothic contains a lot more in the way of "Ooo Arrr" & "Oy Dalin". Like they're from Devon.
This was.....superb. Thank you very much to all involved in making this. Loved the black and white choice.
Those gang-hivers has done their duty proper. They are true servants of the Emperor.
Without darkness, there can be no light.
Without death, there can be no sacrifice.
Without war, there can be no victory.
The Emperor protects.
The ships machine spirit wants revenge.
It wants vengence
This was pretty cool, good ending
Wow they liked only your comment
We show no mercy to the enemy of mankind!
We show no defeat in the face of the alien filth!
We show no fear only our faith in the Emperor!
I would pay for warhammer+ just to listen to Emma Gregory.
Who is that?
Voice of Livia Solken I think@@TheZombieman87
"There's a difference between can't and shouldn't" 🔥 Such a sick line!
I've watched this several times and still love it!! Exciting, emotional and down-right excellent!!!
Goddamn that woman has a spine of adamantium! Truly a most worthy servant of the Emperor! And her faith and determination are rewarded! Ave Imperator!
You don't become a ship mistress in the 41st millenium by slacking off
@@dandcc9192 No, you become one by having the previous one die and shooting the competition!
The whole angel of death series is a master piece! True work of art! I'm glad I took that warhammer plus subscription, totally worth every penny!!
was coming to say the same.
But where are the blu-rays?
An amazing video!!! It was absolutely perfect. The people who made this are far more talented than anyone at Marvel, Lucasfilm, DC, Netflix, or Amazon.
That's because they're not concerned with character, story, struggle, etc. They're pushing something else entirely.
THIS is a strong female protag. Take note Hollywood.
agreed 😢
meh she didn't have to kill that guy.
@@ImperialArmour Yea, that was mids writing. He didnt really do anything to deserve it.
Youre right, she didn't have to. Maybe she should've taken some time to reeeally think it over. Then perhaps she could've forced herself to keep one eye on him at all times from then on. That's assuming everything else went the same way and they didnt all die in the void. That's not an assumption I'd make though because that guy likely wouldve gotten everyone killed pretty fast.
For me though, shooting that guy was when I fell in love with her character. I've yelled "Kill that one before they're a bigger problem!" at so many movies and novels (no small amount of those veing Warhammer novels) that I felt very satisfied with how she... handled things 😊
Absolutely
Imperial Navy needs more love like this.
Great animation recently found the lore through memes and have been loving every new drop of info i find this is all so cool
Arch, Baldermort and A Border Prince do good work in the emperors name
Angels of Death
- Great writing
- Solid action
- Unfortunately held back by some choppy sound design and animation (at some parts)
Angels of Death: Origins
- Perfect. Absolutely perfect. Down to the last minute detail.
MINTHARA?!?!
Just imagine a properly done 40k show with a real budget, it would be so glorious the emperor himself would approve.
Not gonna lie, I wasnt with her at the start, but by the end, I understood it all and she made the right choice. Excellent video.
U gonna have too appreciate the quantity of the lore here it's like dream comes true first time for me watching decent 40k animation
This was great as was Angels of Death.
Question; After the last scene of episode 10 did anyone else think that it may have actually been a Necron device instead of an STC? Or perhaps something akin to Necron technology.
As the Adeptus Machanicus want to leave behind the weaknesses of the flesh, then surely, it stands to reason that they must be very interested in the Necrons, as they've managed to translate entirely into the machine.
Both marvelous and beautiful.
Best story and character animation
''Vengeance, Vengeance, VENGEANCE'' Machine spirits are violent things and I love them
This is epic!! Its not all about colour but about perception and voit amongst the last stand! I wish there was a full series to this! Well done to the 'DEVS' i hope to see more of these tellings..
Excellent writting.
Thanks for sharing.
Give that Ships Mistress a starfleet vessel and watch her conquer the milky way. Damn fine movie.
Great video. Would lie to see a Warhammer full movie.
Would be sick.
There is one, actually. "Ultramarines", made around 2011. Not the best animation, but worth watching if you like w40k esthetics.
It's coming, featuring and directed by Henry Cavill
SON OF SANGUINIUS THE GREAT ANGEL !!
Beautiful words from that ship Maiden at the end
Thanks for the freebie WH. I never even knew about this episode until today
Great Story, please more of this.
damn, i didn't expect the ship's spirit voice to be so gentle
i really enjoyed this
Ooh it is going to be a bad day to be a space elf. For the emperor.
I love how livia defended constance the second he tried to blame her for the attack
Awesome thanks!!!
This is awesome!
Dman that was amazing!!!
Definetly in the style of helsreach, defiance even against hopless odds :)
And, of course, no credit given to the artists who actually made the thing. Just “Warhammer Storyforge”
Damnit this was amazing!
No servo skulls may have been harmed in the making of this, but certainly a lot of crew.
This was totally EPIC
that was amazing and haunting
Amazing!
So disappointing to not see Drukhari board. They looked immaculate.
Well technically, there is a drow on board leading the soldiers if that counts
there is a show on warhammer plus, Iron Within. You see plenty of Drukhari fights in it with an even better top quality animation!
@@sam93931and get absolutely curbed
Why is an Adeptus Astartes battlebarge crewed by mere humans? Where are the Blood Angels? This is not an auxillary escort but one of the battlebarges of the Blood Angels chapter. This thing can launch thunderhawk gunships and Terminator teleport attacks. Drukhari should not be able to board a battlebarge and live!
This video would have made far more sense aboard a vessel of the Navis Imperialis.
The depiction of the Drukhari was excellent.
Im pretty sure Sword of Baal isnt a Battlebarge, its a Strike Cruiser.
Would make sense for it to have atleast one company of Blood Angels onboard it though
This mini movie is part of the Angels of Death mini series (10 episodes) on Warhammer+. You should watch that and you will get the idea of why you don't see any blood angels although I am pretty sure something else happened between the tv series and this movie cause i also have some questions after watching it.
First, the Sword of Baal is a Strike Cruiser. Second, Astartes ships are usually crewed by Chapter Serfs (Blood Thralls, in the case of Blood Angels), with the actual Astartes mostly absent from Command (except for the Fleet as a whole, which usually has an Astartes Captain leading it). In this case, either the Astartes contingent was absent (deployed, KIA, etc) or dead from the initial Dark Eldar strike.
@@StrahdVonZarovich802 This is a prequel to the series you're talking about. I've watched it all several times and I don't recall anything that would explain why there appear to be zero Blood Angels on the ship. Thinking about it now, it seems a bit lame to me that the series is about Blood Angels and yet there aren't any in this episode.
@@kinnusai4432 It makes no sense because lorewise, a strike cruiser always carries 100 marines and isn't crewed by humans, its crewed by tech-priests, servitors and thralls.
Awesome.
I need more!
Is that the voice of Jenit Sulla from the Ciaphas Cain audio books?
who, livia? that would be emma gregory
By the Emporer's holy bumfluff, this was an amazing production. I was riveted from start to finish.
Meanwhile, on T'au- "Man, it's sure great we have all these robots to do all this dangerous work for us".
These warhammer short movies seem to be full of the flavour that I came back to warhammer to get away from. The two I've seen have been anyway
"I don't have time to bleed "
😂😅
Well done.
ONLY THOSE ABSENT THE DARKNESS OF DESPAIR CAN BE PERMITTED TO SAIL IN THE BLACK OF THE VOID
I am shocked that i have not seen this one yet.
Damn it GW😤 Just get it over with and make a full-length movie.
Actually dope.
That was so good im even more mad im 1 year late but glad i got to see it we need like full movies ae seriously id leave all other movie genres apart horror and just fill it wid this stuff
Wow awesome i love warhammer
I've been so hyper critical of every shit heap offering GW has thus far bollocksed up for us. This... Was actually magnificent!
Xenos hubris. Only Angels may fly!
This ship looked like a strike cruiser of the Astartes... Where were they?
If Cavil is smart, he and GW will consider animation. This is breathtaking.
consider?
Is that he voice actor of minthara from baldurs gate 3?
Yup
Epic!!!
Music at 20:40 please !!!!!
The Emperors might stand you fast
Those Gangers gave their lives in service of the Emperor. No greater honour! The Blood keep them.
Where can we find more of this.
Now THIS is how you make a strong female lead. Disney, you listening?
The Emperor demands!
There weren't any angels
Can someone tell me if this is like a part of a movie or something and where i can watch it?
It's a prequel to the Angels Of Death series.
epic
She gave that man the led 🤣
Was it shot on site?
Sons of Sangunius

is that lore accurate that a normal human commannds a blood angel vessel? I did not know that
I think yes. The Sword of Baal is a Strike Cruiser while its the Battle Barges that are controlled by Astartes.
Make a ultramarine origins
I dont know what role Henry Cavil will play, But Tom Hardy better be Alpharius Omegon.
I love you!!!
Bad assery......
True servants of the Emperor
Who could portray Livia in live action?
Carrie-Anne Moss?
I love that in the 40k universe they use combinations of technology and spirituality. They literally link up minds and souls to technology to amplify energy output or to navigate starships. If only real life scientists could start working to unravel the secrets of spirit energy and it's "magic." We might actually move somewhere beyond a new batch of smartphones and game consoles each year.
They have!
The scientific study of spirit energy in the human body is called Neurology and devices that allow a person to telepathically interact with a computer are called Brain Computer Interfaces (BCIs) and have been in development for over a decade as of 2024
Currently BCIs use EKGs (Electrocardiography) which is a brain scanning technique only able to detect the outer-most activity of the brain. It's basically like a headband that can read your thoughts. While it's still a primitive technology in its current form; it's possible to use it to perform basic tasks like moving a cursor on a screen or playing simple video games telepathically. In the future, it is possible that an implant similar to the one shown here would be necessary to create a deeper neural connection.
