    Quite impressed with some of the detail in this route. Funnily enough, even those caravans just after Dalmeny station are actually there in real life. I pass them every day on my way to work

    I bought this for Train Sim 2015, living in South Queensferry for years. I know this route very well. It is very well done. The Forth Bridge model is right on the button. Im looking forward to when they bring out the Edinburgh to Newcastle route on the east coast main line. It goes right past where I now live.

    This is still one of the best routes in train simulator. I have done this route several times in real life and the scenery is bang on with key landmarks placed in very recognisable places if you know the route. Well done to whoever made this route, completed with passion and love

    I cannot believe you didn't know that was the iconic forth rail bridge. Concord did land in Edinburgh and I think there may even be a concord in one of the Scottish museums. I thought the concord was a nice little extra bit of detail.

  • @GamingMattStyle
    @GamingMattStyle 11 лет назад +7

    The reason you saw Concorde, is because since 2006, that line (Dundee to Penzanze) Changed from InterCity Virgin Cross Country to CrossCountry (Owned by Arriva Transport). That scenario is probably based around 2003/2004

  • @guitarstrumer1125

    Waverley was pretty accurate. that little green bridge you went under just before the station is where I used to stand with my grandparents as a kid, watching all the trains going by. Pretty cool.

    That other train at haymarket was not a voyager, it was an intercity HST (high speed train) 125 (125 stands for 125mph). Just a little info.

    Thankyou so much for this fab video - my son and I have sat and watched it and recognised almost all the route - we have been on the train from Leeds - Kirkcaldy and back again lots and lots of times - the next time being the end of may this year. My son loves train/bus/plane etc simulators and this is on his birthday list. Thankyou again. its Brilliant!

    Nice one Paul. Totally agree about flight sims. Apart from t/o and landing, there's just flying around in featureless sky with some clouds (maybe). They need to make one with bad weather scenarios. I might get one anyway to see if I can make it interesting - the Brute Force way.....lol

    Great video. Loved the scenery. There needs to be a game / sim created that allows free roam of the real world. Where you can drive anywhere, take any train, plane or bus. Now that would be awesome!

    Squirrel I'm an avid light sim player and pilot in real life, and I would recommend getting FSX, the newest version, and doing a short flight from say London to Paris. Obviously you're going to have to learn to fly first but you'll see that when you learn and can actually fly yourself without any help it becomes a really fun game. FSX is the best flight sim out there, and the scenery in the game is the best. You can also download far more realistic planes, planes that are sometimes so realistic that they are like flying the real thing, take my word for it. Try it in you're own time, you never know you might find something fun to do.

    • @eog-ecleticoldergamer1904
      @eog-ecleticoldergamer1904 11 лет назад

      FSX is good for procedural training and a realistic representation of the world, but I think X-Plane has a better flight model, IMO.
      Also, if by "newest" you mean Prepar3D (P3D), I would advise Paul against using that version because of the various licensing restrictions inherent with the simulator now being developed by Lockheed Martin.
      Squirrel produces his RUclips channel for entertainment, so technically P3D can NOT be used for this purpose (even though there are P3D videos on YT). This is because of how the different licenses restrict P3D use. He probably would not get dinged, but with RUclips's copyright right bots in full swing at the moment, he would be better off using FSX since it's classified as a game and allowed on RUclips along with the thousands of other games by major publishers.

    • @MrDarkassassin66
      @MrDarkassassin66 11 лет назад

      If you download the right plane, the flight model is close to that of real life.

  • @RealJustinCrow
    @RealJustinCrow 8 лет назад

    That stunning bridge you went over was the famous "Forth Bridge". On the Firth of Forth (Forth Estury), there are 3 brdges, "The Forth Bridge" is the rail one, "The Forth Road Bridge" was the suspension bridge you saw beside it, and the new one, due for service Winter 2017/Spring 2018, is "The Queensferry Crossing"

    FYI Jingles from what i learned playing the game about AWS correct me if im wrong but i believe:
    Light ping and the alert light doesn't come on = Green Signal
    Short Alarm With alert light = Amber Signal
    Urgent alarm with alert light = red signal
    Hope this helps so you dont screw up lke you did with the red light after the firth bridge :)

    Excellent video.
    You don't use the names of the two famous bridges. The bridge just to the south of Dundee is the Tay Bridge. The stubs of columns to the left is what remains of the first Tay Bridge, which fell down in the Tay Bridge Disaster. The second, massive triple cantilever bridge, is the Forth Bridge.

    For flight Sims, there are payware or Freeware airplanes that need you to do some things for each part of a flight. Also there are Multiplayer communities like IVAO and Vatsim, you can fly with ATC and other people, with ATC you always have ot listen to know if they tell you to do something :)

    Hi there Squirrel and greetings from Germany! I just wanted to say thumbs up for your Videos! I really enjoy your ETS and Trainsim Videos (Oh and Bridge Project - these were absolutely hilarious). As you mention Flight Simulator... I'd like to see more FS Videos as I'm a virtual Pilot too (I'm actually within the Management of one of the biggest Virtual Airlines) but as you say despite Takeoff and Landing a Passenger Flight is not very great for a Let's Play that's also why most of the Flightsimmers (including me) cut down the Videos of their Flights to short Films. Needless to say you really have to be into the Deal when doing a Flightsim so maybe that's not the right Thing (The more realistic Planes require studying many Pages of Manual to even get them started or programming the Flight Computers for correct Routing) so just keep your Trainsim and ETS Videos coming for our Pleasure!
