So it's not really a viable phone charger. Sounds like if you try to charge a phone you'll drain the battery. I was curious how it performed as a stick burner. If I'm carrying pellets I might as well carry camp fuel. Thx
Yeah I only felt comfortable charging the phone when the fire was going. Sticks don't burn as long so you have to have a lot to keep it going but it for sure works. I'm just car camping so I used pellets as a primary and stcks etc as back up. One thing is adding sticks during cooking is much easier than pellets. Sometimes pouring more pellets in mid cook doesn't work as well. The fire goes low and smokes a lot for several minutes until the new ones get going.
I love mine. It's compact. Twigs and pinecones. Simpler the better.. If you are using something like this, it's common sense to have some solar. It's called planning. Making good choices. I've used several backpacking, rock climbing stoves from Germany etc. Best "layer" to the power and cooking needs vs cost, simplicity and size. Just my opinion.
@James Conner considering the overall universal great reviews I'm inclined to agree with you. I've yet to read one negative review. Seems to be a worthy gadget
I am going to have to pick up some pellets. They are expensive (basically burning your money) compared to picking up twigs, etc off the ground but, it sure looks like it makes cooking easier. I find with the twigs and sticks method I am constantly refilling the burn chamber.
is yours the 2 or the 2+? I just got a 2+ and I've been really confused watching videos some show a large hole in the "fire snout" and some don't, Mine has no hole. Also how come all yours is black colored? Mines teal and yellow.
This is so informative!!! Fantastic reporting; I love this kind of content!🌻🌼🐝
Many thanks!
I’m tempted by another one of those power light stoves before I go to Texas so I have a way to cook my food
I have used Biolite stove, too, in a tent with the girl keeps it works wonders

Thanks for your take and yeah pellets are easier for sure. I think of twigs etc as more of back up to the pellets.

This is the 2. It is black because it was a special release with Evo that came in black.
Was that a bottle of vodka I saw next to the stove?
Yep.
Why is your black and not blue and yellow
It was a special release but the only thing different was the colors.
No usb c, no purchase.
