From what I’ve been told, the song that played on the radio they had going right at my arrival happened to be this masterpiece. Such a beautiful song. A man finding out he will become a father and he is embracing it and anticipating the arrival of his first child. Such a feeling of acceptance and being wanted...LOVE.

I lost my little boy six years ago when he was four. My world changed drastically when he was born, every night I’d play my acoustic guitar and sing him this song till he fell asleep with a small smile on his face. I’ve never had a moment since his passing that he’s not at the forefront of my mind. This song still to this day makes tears stream down my face in remembrance of him. I’ll always and forever be proud of my sweet little boy. I love you Thomas Johnathon Sweeney, your father will always miss you

This song was #1 in the day my son was born in September of 2000... He came out of me with his arms stretched so wide open... It was beautiful. This song always reminds me and makes me cry tears of joy. He's 23 this year and has epilepsy...I just pray he outlives me by so many years
Being happy and healthy will always look good Play with him or talk to him We also need to make the most of every second You never know what tomorrow will bring
This song hits me everytime. It literally came on the radio as soon as I left the doctors office when I found out I was pregnant. Thank you @creed for such an emotional song. My son is grown now, and I couldn't be prouder of the man he has become. Even tho I had him when I was 17. Everyone swore he would become a thug or something bc I was so young. My own grandmother said I should abort him or give him up for adoption. Well he is now a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corp. And I couldn't be more PROUD!!!!
Singer Andrea Bocelli's Mother was told by her Doctor to abort her son BC she was told there might be complications with him. If she had aborted him, the world would have never had a Great Singer & Performer!
When I was pregnant I used to sing “welcome to this place, I’ll show you everything” to my son each night, unfortunately he did not make it into this world but I would have shown him everything beautiful life had to offer
I played this the day my wife told me she was pregnant with my boy back in 2006, I cried while listening to it. I come back here and listen to it from time to time and it still brings me to tears thinking of hearing that I was going to be a father for the first time. My boy is 17 now and is the center of my universe, love that kid to pieces. I give him a hug and a kiss every day I'm so grateful to have such a wonderful son.
Such a heartfelt song coming from a man that found out he is about to be a father. Purest and most precious song ever written about a man that is about to be a new father.
Son is leaving for college next week. He was born 18 years ago 2lbs 3 oz. I listen to this song every morning for 8 weeks as I drove to the hospital to see him in the NICU. Scary times. Proud father
@@199Pastrana Thank you. I did not brag originally, but he got a full ride for academics (National Merit winner). He was also a three sport athelete (Baseball, basketball, and football) All state football DB/LB. The only reason I brag is to give hope to other parents of premature babies. I want them to know there is hope in those scary moments!
Man. 2lbs-3oz? You must've almost been able to fit him in your hand. I've heard of some 5# babies that people couldn't believed that survived, but only 2lbs? This is a true miracle. Congratulations man. And congratulations to your boy. Good luck at college.

I found out I was going to be a dad around this same time last year. A couple months went by, and the baby’s mother and I split up in June. Last July was one of the hardest months of my life. I started bartending at a new restaurant. It was the grand opening and we were swamped all day. I was depressed, could barely function but I fought through the pain and put on a fake smile. I asked God for guidance many times that night. Around 10pm, amidst a still loud and crowded restaurant, I finally walked outside under the patio lights by myself to get a 5 minute break. I was the only one out there so it was so peaceful. There was a light mist in the air. Just moments later, this beautiful song began playing on the loud outside speakers, I couldn’t hold back the tears any longer. Everything I was going through was made alright though in that moment because God had given me the perfect sign. The heartbeat intro still gives me chills. Fast forward to now, I have a beautiful baby boy named Izaiah and I’m going to be the greatest dad for him. I will share this story with him some day.
I was a single mother, who gave birth to my first born at the time this song came out. It was just be and I against the world. He changed me in all the best ways. This song is relevant to me as a mother to my first born son. I still cry when I hear it. He’s 23 now and I made sure he knows what this song means to me, so that he can carry it with him when I am gone
I was a teenager when this song came out. It seemed so cheesey and corny, we relentlessly made fun of it. My tastes were much cooler, I thought. But now that I've got a little son in my life, this song makes me cry, lol. Its so evocative. I didn't like kids or know how to act until I had the baby in my arms. I had no idea I was going to love him so much. This song truly hits that nerve, right on the bullseye. It's funny how this stuff changes you. Time passes, and you take different perspectives on the same things.
With arms wide open... May you receive the true Blessing of having a Child when you are mature enough to be a parent! That is a Gift from the Universe🙏💖✨
My beautiful 47 year old son died 3/12/2021he had a heart attack. We are having a memorial in his honor and this is one.of his favorite songs it will be played
This song came on the radio as I started my car to move it from emergency parking in front of the hospital. My wife had just given birth to our first child. I was always skeptical hearing stories like this. I no longer am skeptical. Tons of emotions, this made it over the top. It still brings me back to that day. My daughter is 20 now. For all those young parents out there, stay the course, keep trying, you’ll make it!
This is the theme song for my son and I. It's our song together. I heard this as I was on the way to the hospital to pick up my new born son and my beautiful wife. It will be an eternal reminder of the most important day in life. Thank you.
When my kid was born I also listened to Creed on the way to see my newborn. I raised him on Creed, Nickelback, Ted Nugent and Meatloaf. We are all Trump supporters in our home and he's owned guns since the age of four. God bless America brother!
This song my dad used to listen to when I was little boy and he passed away 11 years ago. I finally found this song and I broke down so hard. I miss him so very much.
Just found out I'm gonna be a father. This song was very important to my mother when she was pregnant with me. She found out and then heard this song for the first time the same day. Now almost 22 years, later, here I am.
It came out just a few weeks before I found out my girl was pregnant. We were just kids back then and we got into a huge fight and she told me to leave, I did. Fast forward till 2022 and I still bawl my eyes out because of my ignorance and pride as a boy.
Sung this song to my premature son on 23.11.13 whilst we didn't know if his Mummy would make it or not. Thankfully she did and my boy and daughter have an incredible mother who loves, lives and strives for them both. This song will always hold me and my nearly 10 year old son close. ❤
RIP Broly a huge inspiration for a community that won’t forget him, he showed that fighting games are for everyone no matter where you come from or what things you face you can always be a part of things
I remember my dad told me a story about before I was born. He had found out that my mom was pregnant that day and he went to the bar and played this song on the jukebox. I’m 16 years old today and he’s the best father I could have ever asked for.
My son passed away 6 years ago. I wasn't ready to be the man i had to be but he knows i've done everything for him. Wherever you are Enzo, love u forever.
In my 30s now, can totally relate to this song, and also how silly it was we all hated on creed cuz they were cool to hate on. Their songs are actually timeless and remind me of jamming with my parents as am early teen. ❤

It's not just that we come back to this song for memories we share for the ones we lost or forgotten I listen to this song cause this is the first song I showed my little brother who I miss so much and just to hear this song reminds me of the times we shared together as brothers
I listened to this song 4 years before I got pregnant, after having 3 miscarriages. It gave me hope, and now I have a 13 year old son. One of my fav songs of all time.
This song was popular when my Son was born in 2001. It will always remind me of his birth and how I felt at the time. Done my best with him & his younger sister. Hope I never fail them.

This song hit me in my mid 20's. I was homeless, depressed and living on my Grandparen'ts couch and I was listening to this as I was having my very first and very real psychic spiritual awakening. I started to understand so much and also how little I understood at the same time. I cried my eyes out for the gratitude and sorrow that came in hand in hand. I miss my Grandparents, they raised me and they are both gone now. I guess Spirit was holding me at that moment letting me know there was so much left in life to see.

Human Clay released a week or so after my little sister was born, when I was 10 years old. My dad had passed away tragically when I was 6 and I was starting to understand what it meant to be part of a new family. This song gave my stepdad and me an incredible connection as we welcomed Rachel to our family and into our hearts. We listened to it on repeat and cried and hugged.
When my dad would pick me up from pre school I’d tell him to play “the song”. This was me and my dads song and now that I’m older I realized it really was his song to me.
All these comments brought a tear to my eyes too, I was also going through something I can relate, my sons father dedicated this to him n then left n never came back, 20 years ago, my sons 23, he says ( what dad?) 🤷🏻♀️
This song came out when we were expecting my Son , we were so excited and in love , his Mom died a couple years ago , hes 22 now and lives with me , we take care of each other , and I hope we are doing her proud . RIP Shona , I think about you all the time .
This was my brother and my favorite artist Creed my brother passed away over a year ago he was my best friend But God brought someone else into my life who is now my best friend and more. No one can ever take my brother's place but I thank God everyday for you Kenny my love my life.
My daddy bought me this album in high-school. I'll never forget sitting in my room with the blanket my mom hand sowed for me at my dad's new house misunderstanding life for what it was in a whole. I've never missed my parents more than I do today
Met Scott...the band Creed were staying at the Hotel I was working in , I was a bar manager there.. I was trying to load up the bar for the up and coming night as it was going to be huge .. low and behold who helped me move restaurant chairs.. was Scott Stapp from Creed!! ... thing is I didnt even know who they were till after the concert! One of my staff says Oh that was Scott from Creed.. wth!! Such nice guys, will remember!
My dad said this song was for me.... After all the abuse, addiction, and pain he caused me. I hear this song and know exactly what he meant when he said "i love you". I never believed he actually loved me until i found out that this was his song to me. My dad is clean now and i hear this song and it hurts so much. Knowing he never knew how to love me until now
Learn to forgive him. I know he's not perfect, but he's as human as you, me or anyone else. I don't know what he's been through, but nobody teaches you how to be a father. I hope you spend your days with him in a caring way and may your relationship with him grow stronger.
Well... unfortunately this comment did not age well. My father relapsed and got 3 DUI's within 3 months. He will now be spending his 61st, 62nd, and potentially his 63rd birthday in prison. It's so hard to love someone who could let you down this many times. I know he loves me but sometimes I can't tell what he loves more. His family. Or. His addiction
As a father myself and a addict who is clean now for 3 years I can promise you your father always loved you and whatever demons he has he hopes he ain’t passed em on to you, be a better man than your father at the end of the day that’s all we want as a parent and it’s a shame when some fathers can’t conquer themselves and their own faults but regardless he loves you bro, take care
@@FrankyCpunishmentSTYLE your comment means the world to me. Thanks to everyone for the hopeful wishes. I really do pray things turn around for our relationship. I always wanted me and my dad to be best friends. Instead we've been more of strangers in this world
Played this for the first time to my daughter after her up from her mums house. I was driving/ singing and she was dancing in her car seat, after the song finished she said “that was a cool song dad” a very special moment I don’t think I’ll ever forget ❤️
@@conesobruh9165 No, actually Scott said him and the whole band was astonished that anyone thought they were Christian and that they did NOT want to be thought as such.
@kevinl8440 lol yes, if you haven't noticed the songs talk about God, what band are you listening? They just didnt want to be labeled as Christian because they didn't even label themselves as such, the lyrics are just Scott writing how he feels and all his processes and battles with faith. He does believe in God
Used to listen as a kid and I thought it was the sweetest thing a dad could think or say to his boy. Now I'm that man later on in life that's gonna keep these thoughts and give my boy the best life possible here for you. You will know love and also know the love of God. ❤

If you’re still listening to this song in 2020, you’re such a legend! I first heard this song back in 1999 and still can’t get rid off listening! So nice! ❤️
I'd be honored if some fans of mid/late 90s classics would take a listen to my acoustic piano & vocal performances of "1979" by the Smashing Pumpkins, LONG DECEMBER by the Counting Crows, and NAME by the GooGoo Dolls in tribute to 3 great standards of the era. Live acoustic with no autotune or digital editing. Peace out and stay safe in the '020s.
I feel the same way, I can just barely remember some of the best things from my past and I wish to revisit them just to be able to remember them. I mainly remember when I was young and my dad and I would listen to Creed in the car together. I'm going to think of these songs when he passes.
For my son. I wasn’t ready for fatherhood. When you were born, when I first held you, I had more instinct to protect you. I was ready to protect you. I will never stop protecting you.
I lost my first pregnancy and most beautiful son, Jameson, last Thursday. I almost bled to death delivering him. If I had a choice, I would have given my life for him. I didn't know perfect til I caught my son in my hands. Mommy and daddy love you sweet boy. You were too precious for this ugly world. I know you've made some best of friends.
As a child, my mother loved Creed. I was born in 92 so I was old enough to give her shit about liking Creed even back then. 2023 3 children later, I’m sitting here balling at the beauty of this song. I wonder if this is how my mom felt when listening to it back then
This was played at my 7 year old son's funeral in 2007. Still hits a nerve but it reminds me of my little boy and to never forget that I'll see him again one day. R.I.P. Nicholas Raine Scott Craddock.... Daddy loves you boy.......

I love you Thomas Johnathon Sweeney, your father will always miss you
Jay. Sending you light love and peace. God bless you & yours always. ❤
Praying for solace to your soul.
I cant listen to this song without tearing up my son was born last night and this song makes me feel so happy 😢

It's a rarity. But good for you man, glad to hear you enjoy some nice Creed.
it's a rarity that white people make good music. let us all enjoy it whilst we can.
It's rare that anyone makes good music :/
RIP Brolylegs. May your spirit live on forever within the FGC.
Came to post the EXACT same thing. May fighting game players the world over remain United around what he will always represent.
This song was #1 in the day my son was born in September of 2000... He came out of me with his arms stretched so wide open... It was beautiful. This song always reminds me and makes me cry tears of joy. He's 23 this year and has epilepsy...I just pray he outlives me by so many years
Go Yes If God Wills
Being happy and healthy will always look good Play with him or talk to him We also need to make the most of every second You never know what tomorrow will bring
And I'm brazilian
He Will
That’s beautiful brother
This song hits me everytime. It literally came on the radio as soon as I left the doctors office when I found out I was pregnant. Thank you @creed for such an emotional song. My son is grown now, and I couldn't be prouder of the man he has become. Even tho I had him when I was 17. Everyone swore he would become a thug or something bc I was so young. My own grandmother said I should abort him or give him up for adoption. Well he is now a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corp. And I couldn't be more PROUD!!!!

A testament to the kind of person and mother you are great job.
Very Cool. I'm glad you gave your son life.! 😊

This song was played at my 2001 wedding. This song is for you Athena. It will always will be OUR song. I deeply miss you.
Such a heartfelt song coming from a man that found out he is about to be a father. Purest and most precious song ever written about a man that is about to be a new father.
Congrats Roger 🙏🏼
😍❤️
When I found out I would be a dad, the first song I started to re-listen to was Get Free by The Vines.
Son is leaving for college next week. He was born 18 years ago 2lbs 3 oz. I listen to this song every morning for 8 weeks as I drove to the hospital to see him in the NICU. Scary times. Proud father
Mike Fisher awesome buddy 👍

Always happy to see someone else here for the same reason I am =).
I wasn’t a huge Creed fan but this definitely takes me back to a simpler time. Everyone was there, friends, happy, healthy, young, alive.
Izaiah is a great name and you’ll be a great dad
Hey mate, what a beautiful story. You’re going to be a great dad, it’s a beautiful name you’ve chosen, and I wish you all the best.
Sucks for both you and the kid hope the mom won't screw him up
May God bless you and your son and give you the strength to continue on in happiness and love always💕💕
Enjoy the journey, sensitive soul..... 💙
Great song you sound like a great mother am sure your son will do you proud bless you both😊
Dancing with my 23 year old son to “his” song at his wedding this weekend!
Same here! My daughter is now 22 and serving our country 🇺🇸 This song makes me tear up every time.
Omg.... I'm tearing up
Rest in peace brolylegs
I greatly under appreciated this band back in the day. Their music hits me so hard today. It’s like they made it for the future

This song was popular right when I found out I was pregnant at 17. It still makes me cry when I hear it. My daughter is now 22 😢
Wow how time flies. I was around the same age when this was popular. Can’t believe its been over 20 years
The song is about a man expecting a child

This song came on the radio as I started my car to move it from emergency parking in front of the hospital. My wife had just given birth to our first child. I was always skeptical hearing stories like this. I no longer am skeptical. Tons of emotions, this made it over the top. It still brings me back to that day. My daughter is 20 now. For all those young parents out there, stay the course, keep trying, you’ll make it!
My oldest daughter will be 20 this march 4th!!! This song was sooo powerful and still is to this day it gets me every time....🙏🏻🔥🥺🎶💯

I had just given birth to my daughter when I first heard this song. She will be turning 21 this spring. Lots of emotions . . . then and now.😂

Just found out I'm gonna be a father. This song was very important to my mother when she was pregnant with me. She found out and then heard this song for the first time the same day. Now almost 22 years, later, here I am.
Late but congrats brother 👍 my son is 25 now and daughter is 21 you will be ok enjoy and embrace it .

I remember my dad told me a story about before I was born. He had found out that my mom was pregnant that day and he went to the bar and played this song on the jukebox. I’m 16 years old today and he’s the best father I could have ever asked for.
Jukebox ay! That must of been some time ago - I know 16 years 🤣

I used to sing this song to my son. I am a mom and yesterday he turned 19. I am so happy that you have an awesome dad!
So he finds out she's pregnant and decides to go to a bar alone for drinks? Yeah sounds like he wasn't disappointed at all lol

Good to see you here 8way. Brolylegs was a good dude - you would’ve been amazed by him!
In my 30s now, can totally relate to this song, and also how silly it was we all hated on creed cuz they were cool to hate on. Their songs are actually timeless and remind me of jamming with my parents as am early teen. ❤
He wrote this song when he found out he was going to be a father.
It's a wonderful work of art that expresses something genuinely beautiful.

Doesn’t make it a good song
@@aR0ttenBANANA True, but that's purely opinion.
@@aR0ttenBANANA maybe you dont have a kid, but when or if you do you'll really understand it. I never really cared for it until I became a father. Its lame ,but every time I hear this song I cry a bit because It reminds me of the day he was born and love my 1 year old mess maker so much.

Same it's exactly how I read the song. I also sing it live . Kind of a nod to my children that I no longer live with but try to see as often as I can.
All u can do is your best mate . If your there for them then that's enough.
Did you go out in the rain with your arms wide open
You mean God.. who made you and loves you?
Awesome testimony. 😇👍
The question is, What did you do about it?

Lyrics
Arms Wide Open
Well I just heard the news today
It seems my life is gonna change
I close my eyes, begin to pray
Then tears of joy stream down my face
With arms wide open
Under the sunlight
Welcome to this place
I'll show you everything
With arms wide open
With arms wide open
Well I don't know if I'm ready
To be the man I have to be
I'll take a breath, I'll take her by my side
We stand in awe, we've created life
With arms wide open
Under the sunlight
Welcome to this place
I'll show you everything
With arms wide open
Now everything has changed
I'll show you love
I'll show you everything
With arms wide open
With arms wide open
I'll show you everything
Oh yeah
With arms wide open
Wide open
If I had just one wish
Only one demand
I hope he's not like me
I hope he understands
That he can take this life
And hold it by the hand
And he can greet the world
With arms wide open
With arms wide open
Under the sunlight
Welcome to this place
I'll show you everything
With arms wide open
Now everything has changed
I'll show you love
I'll show you everything
With arms wide open
With arms wide open
I'll show you everything oh yeah

My dad had passed away tragically when I was 6 and I was starting to understand what it meant to be part of a new family. This a good song
Good shit broly.
My 1st son was born in 2000. This was my song to him. He is 23 years old now. Still showing him things, and he is showing me how to still be a father.
My dad said this song was for me.... After all the abuse, addiction, and pain he caused me. I hear this song and know exactly what he meant when he said "i love you". I never believed he actually loved me until i found out that this was his song to me. My dad is clean now and i hear this song and it hurts so much. Knowing he never knew how to love me until now
bless you and your dad.
As a father myself and a addict who is clean now for
3 years I can promise you your father always loved you and whatever demons he has he hopes he ain’t passed em on to you, be a better man than your father at the end of the day that’s all we want as a parent and it’s a shame when some fathers can’t conquer themselves and their own faults but regardless he loves you bro, take care
@@FrankyCpunishmentSTYLE your comment means the world to me. Thanks to everyone for the hopeful wishes. I really do pray things turn around for our relationship. I always wanted me and my dad to be best friends. Instead we've been more of strangers in this world
My dad played this every day when I was a baby so that I knew a piece of him is always there when he passes. Love my dad so much
my condolence brother!

My oldest son's birthday song. I will forever hold this close to my heart ❤❤❤
Played this for the first time to my daughter after her up from her mums house. I was driving/ singing and she was dancing in her car seat, after the song finished she said “that was a cool song dad” a very special moment I don’t think I’ll ever forget ❤️

This is my kind of Christian music
Creed is not Christian music
@@cynthiadevich6757 He's definitely a believer in Christ and wears it on his sleeve.
@@conesobruh9165 No, actually Scott said him and the whole band was astonished that anyone thought they were Christian and that they did NOT want to be thought as such.
@@kevinl8440 because they got a ton of backlash for having christian lyrics higher is literally about heaven dude. 😂
@kevinl8440 lol yes, if you haven't noticed the songs talk about God, what band are you listening? They just didnt want to be labeled as Christian because they didn't even label themselves as such, the lyrics are just Scott writing how he feels and all his processes and battles with faith. He does believe in God
RIP, Brolylegs.
Used to listen as a kid and I thought it was the sweetest thing a dad could think or say to his boy. Now I'm that man later on in life that's gonna keep these thoughts and give my boy the best life possible here for you. You will know love and also know the love of God. ❤
God bless you and your family 🙏🏼
RIP to Brolylegs, i'm not big into FGC but a legend always reaches people.
I will play this during the birth of my first child in the next 3 weeks. There will also be fireworks and dancers.
+Tomtate thanks!

Thanks to all of you! 39 weeks and still no baby!
Not offending but no one really cares about this, just listen to the music and keep your private life only to you :)
gratz! (:
I've lost so many friends at age 40, please don't take the family and friends for granted. It happens so suddenly in life
I promise.
You might be lucky to have gotten that much time with them.
Journey with Journey was here Because of prayer i am.... May God bless and comfort you with all your needs....... Bless us and give us a peace of mind 💕💕💕💕💕
Loved this song as a kid. It hits so close to home now that I'm a father. I finally understand the meaning of the words.
I had never actually heard this song before. I heard the Tobuscus parody in 2014 and now I’ll never be able to take this song seriously.
This song is a true classic & anyone who has ever brought a life into this crazy world can relate. I absolutely love this song!
I first heard this in 2009 and I’m only 19 years old, I don’t quite relate but the lyrics are deep
flow THE PREASANTS ARE OAPAAAHN
I'm here because I really miss this song & I miss the old days so much
Great song indeed!!
Larraine Wong I love this song too.....I hope you know that soon your comment and my reply will be old too

Feel weird y do u say my & your comment will soon be old...!!!
Larraine Wong i understand when somebody wants to back to the past
I feel the same way, I can just barely remember some of the best things from my past and I wish to revisit them just to be able to remember them. I mainly remember when I was young and my dad and I would listen to Creed in the car together. I'm going to think of these songs when he passes.
For my son. I wasn’t ready for fatherhood. When you were born, when I first held you, I had more instinct to protect you. I was ready to protect you. I will never stop protecting you.
You’re a good father man I wish you and your family nothing but the best
I lost my first pregnancy and most beautiful son, Jameson, last Thursday. I almost bled to death delivering him. If I had a choice, I would have given my life for him.
I didn't know perfect til I caught my son in my hands.
Mommy and daddy love you sweet boy. You were too precious for this ugly world. I know you've made some best of friends.
Awwwww❤❤
As a child, my mother loved Creed. I was born in 92 so I was old enough to give her shit about liking Creed even back then.
2023 3 children later, I’m sitting here balling at the beauty of this song. I wonder if this is how my mom felt when listening to it back then
