  • After confirming he tested positive for COVID following winning bronze in the men's 200m, US sprinter Noah Lyles sat down with Sky's Rob Harris to talk about his recovery and being the world's fastest man.
"I try to be a showman," said the Olympic gold medallist, "some people criticise me for it, some people love it."

Noah is actually a nice guy...not particularly arrogant the way people perceive his showmanship or big mouths. I think he uses that for personal confidence and to walk his way through others' instincts. We need someone like that for the sport. We don't need everyone to look so serious than usual. The reason we all still missed Usain Bolts is because of his showmanship. We all knew he could run even faster than his 9:58 WR...Well done, Champ ❤💪

Also he’s an Olympic athlete of course he’s not gonna display symptoms before the race. Running a full 200 in 19 seconds with covid is gonna be a lot heavier on your body than anything else, especially as an Olympic athlete with bad asthma.
He ran the race because he didn’t wanna let everyone down for 1, since he wants to put on a show. And 2 he said he didn’t want to throw the competition off their game by revealing that, so he ran without telling anyone, showed his sportsmanship and left.
