I can't believe some people don't understand trans representation isn't just about having trans characters. It's about having a well written character, who happens to be trans.
Thats people crying for representation in general.
Okiku >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> any trans western character
And based on various trans people's opinions about the show, the trans representation is terribly written. Many have even re-written scenes from the show and they've done a better job at it than a professional writer
Representation should mean nothing, but it sure as heck means even less if your overjoyed for scraps this crap. people who scream about labels loving labels to death...
be honest, do most of the ppl virtue signaling about trans actually even KNOW any trans themselves? Look how High Guardian Spice promoted themselves first as "all female writing staff" then suddenly be like "oh but we have a transman on the team as well". Wow. So right off the top we have a bunch of white cisgender women virtue signaling about trans on one hand while erasing with the other.
meanwhile in real life dozens of trans get killed in the US every year, hundreds around the world every year. Do any of the twitter mob seem to be doing anything for real about that or too busy texting on their cool Iphones to notice or care? If half the ppl who virtue signal gave their time/money/effort to trans causes in real life, things would be different....but that requires work and care that most really don't have.

Using women and minorities as a sheild against criticism is a common tactic amongst political activists. It's smarter to use children because they're easily manipulated and can't truly speak for themselves.

I have a personal writing rule, if you want to make a good character(straight or LGBT)make sure the last thing you remember is their sexuality. Vamp Best Bi Character!
Well not the last but if thats one of the first things you think of when you hear that characters name, then thats a problem
A lot of creators forget the 'character' part & just focus on the label of the character.
Couldn't have said it better, you write the character's personality and make the design, then you pick other traits like favorite things, gender identity, etc.
If by Vamp you meant it's MGS4's Vamp. Then I agree with you 110%
wait Vamp as in from Metal gear 2?
And this is why people won't watch shows cause the fan base is toxic within weeks or even days of it coming out. I just have no more words anymore.
Every show and game has toxic fandoms it's not realistic for them to not have any it's just you don't really hear about it from most of the shows and games unless they are insanely popular and or the show or game just does so bad that it becomes famous so it doesn't matter what game or show because you're going to have people that absolutely love it all the way to people that are absolutely going to hate it and will do whatever they can to destroy it and genshin impact is a great example the game became one of the best games of all time worldwide and due to so many people playing it around the world you're going to here a lot more complaints so should the complaint stop you from wanting to play a game or watch a show no it shouldn't stop you or turn you off from it in any way shape or form if the game trailer or gameplay looks good if you want to try it to see if it's good then try it if you don't try it You don't know if you're going to like it or not But if you let other people's hate prevent you from trying it then you just gave the haters what they wanted to keep you from playing the game so you should try to play a game that you never played before or watch a movie or show that you never seen before and then you be the judge whether you like it or not don't let somebody else turn you off of something that you have not seen yourself
Not to mention, hater bases. Teen Titans Go! is an awful show, but some people take their hatred way too far as into wishing the creators died and the show shouldn't exist.

Ffs, just because something has representation doesn't mean it's good. This person is seriously delusional.
Yup, completely delusional, so deep on the whole Twitter social justice rabbit hole they simply cant fathem that a show with representation can be criticized
a good show(including animes and movies) receives good praises from having a good story and good artwork, not because it has representations and whatnot
if anyone creates a story with just representation in mind and just solely focus on representations is bound to fail.
over the years we have anime with lesbians(Sailormoon, Burst angels), anime with gays(Yuri on ice) and heck even anime with non binary people (Komi can't communicate) and those don't even really focus on their relationships and stuff, just the stories and i might say they are pretty good.
granted i may not have seen High Guardian Spice, i have seen the artwork and the artwork alone is enough to prevent me from watching it. it looks very lazy and i feel no passion in the animator's work. everything feels like it's been photoshopped in and not drawn by them to the point don't even feel like you can call it even a cartoon anymore

"Anime has everything to do with animation."
Anime is short for animation (I took a Japanese class for 2 years in my old high school, we had a student exchange program and when Japanese students were asked what their favorite anime was they said stuff like Tom and Jerry or SpongeBob)... But nowadays it's mostly used to refer to a specific style of animation, once only Japanese animation, but now including animation from other countries that mimic the style (Avatar (US), Link Click (China), Tower of God (Originally a Korean Manhwa)), especially since some works will be outscourced to studios in other countries.
And just because High Guardian Spice was marketed as an "anime" and is on Crunchyroll doesn't make it anime when it fails to match the most basic style and had to steal assets off the internet. It's also a slap in the face to the Japanese Studios that were supposed to get the money that ended up making this cartoon.
Adding that because of how languages work, theres not really a definitive definition for anime (or most English words). The way we define words depends on how the majority use them. If the majority say anime means animation then that's what it means, and if the majority say it means Japanese animation then that's what it means.
(Some languages may not work like this. I'm pretty sure French has an actual group that decides how the language works)
Anime means different things based on if you are in Japan or America. In Japan it just means animation. But in America it means mainly Japanese style animation, though some shows that emulate the style well enough will be included in that list, just like you said Avatar. But this show clearly has slight inspirations, mainly in the eyes, while everything else feels like a cartoon network show. Especially when they have scenes where they act like they need to educate their audience. Like, having the main character not knowing what transgender is seems redundant when the majority who watch the show will. That's something you would put in a young child's show.
Actually a "good" show with trans representation is "I'm a spider, so what?", in the show an entire class is reincarnated into a fantasy world and one of the guys was turned into a woman during the process... the show specifically states that the students were reincarnated based off their self-image and karma so the trans switch isn't some major point, but a gentle nod to trans people and the character themselves are super supportive and a good addition to the team too; not just "trans to be trans".
also reanimated as a slime I think is main character trans as well I believe Rimuru who was once a male turned into a slime that can turn into a creature. I might be wrong.
@@geirutoneido1722 Technically that's just gender bending. I don't think Rimuru cares all that much what gender people see him as since he has much bigger problems. There's also a demon lord who has to use a female homunculus body, the clown makes fun of him and he's all like "Bruh."
I cannot exactly tell however if any of these characters are trans there doesn't seem to be any sort of dysphoria and I don't know if dysphoria is even important for it to count as representation.
or One Piece
These HGS defenders don’t even look at the show and just blindly defend it… for what reason, I have no idea. Maybe they just want to be the “different” minority that do like it (but ignore its flaws)?
I feadass say someone on tiktok really ask "is it really bad or is it just gay"
Without clueing into the fact that attributing everything this show did wrong into "being gay" is homophobic in of itself.
its virtue signaling and excuse to troll on "haters". True story: more ppl were on twitter DEFENDING graphic novels "Nubia Real One" and "I Am Not Starfire" than actually BOUGHT the book. Its about being part of a cool mob out to lynch someone in the name of social justice than actually doing any good in the real world.
They defend it because its not about the shows quality or the integrity behind its making for them. Its about "representation" thats literally all that matters. It doesn't even have to be well written, or coherent, as long as its there. Because they are so consumed by such unimportant aspects of who they are they let it consume them entirely. To them a trans character is them, its also why they flip their shit so hard if a character they don't like or an antagonist character is and LGBT one... because god forbid they see themselves in the roll of a villain. They can't get around that unhealthy mentality. A normal person can see someone with the same skin color, the same sexuality, etc as any character and realize that character isn't them, it doesn't represent them and everyone else who shares that trait, but they can't because they define themselves by that single trait of just those handful of traits.
They wanna be “quirky”
I mean, if they like it that's their own respectable opinion. Insulting others is crossing the line though.
I feel like only the writers using alternate accounts could genuinely defend this show
Remembered that article saying people where hyped about hgs and two off them ended up being the creator
A voice actor in the show and anime feminist 😂
Huh, that, actually makes perfect sense
i could believe that
The moment anyone says "internalised misogyny" they lose all credit. Just saying. I showed my Trans and Gender Fluid freinds the trans scenes and they hated them. They felt uncomfortable beacuse I explained the show was supposed to represent everyone... but it hurt so much watching some of those scenes... we're supposed to be represented, not told to hate men.
Please note, I haven't watched the show or anything, but I haven't seen any reviews mention my fellow Ace conrades. Every person in the world has their own struggles, regardless of their race, religion and orientation. I myself have seen how my freinds have struggled and that was through an outside eye. I also struggled, with my mother telling me to get a boyfriend, which I did and I probably hurt him more than I should have. Teachers saying that all teenagers are thinking about relationships as I sat there not knowing what they meant. I for the logenst time thought I was actually a sociopath because I didn't have the emotions I was told I was supposed to have.
Just my two cents so to speak. Their represtation sucks and the poor people going to this show for help are going to be told things that aren't true. Represtation is hard, yes, but its not impossible. You can start by asking people what they went though.
Also, you are now just doing this on purpose, pyro dose nothing on pyro please take Barbra and Keaya in to that domain.
Jango Fett, a bounty hunter who had himself cloned to have a son is a better representation of asexual and aromantic person without officially being labeled as aro ace. Because normal people don´t walk around shouting they are asexual or aromantic, they just live their lives and some of them would probably have their kids through cloning if the technology was safe and legal.
Real anime in general have representation, they just don't virtue signal and treat them completely NORMAL, as it should be.

Actually, Sailor Moon has trans representation.
The Starlights are female by birth, yet when in their civilian identities dress and act as males, to the point that in the anime thei actually transform in them.
One of them is also into Sailor Moon herself, both in the anime and in the manga where she does not transform in male physically.
While some may argue they may not 100% count as trans, they are at the very least genderfluid.
Considering the time Sailor Moon was aired, it is also a much bigger representation than High Guardian Spice could hope to be, as in it was an anime of quality for the time it was made including story-wise, even if it was somewhat censored outside Japan.
Constantly moving the goalpost seems to be the main tactic of HGS fans.

-Evangelion with the many mental illnesses in it
-My Senpai is Annoying with a MC who has a short stature
-Kuzu no Honkai with characters that struggle with love in highschool

"Stick with your straight anime" Sailor Moon is the gayest anime out there. Lesbian sailor scouts, gay villains, it got everything. I guess it's straight now, cause this chick said so.
So we not gonna talk about how he used 3 pyro characters in a pyro slime domain?
How the-
How the hell does High Guardian Spice have *defenders?!*
I'm just looking at you trying with those pyro slimes in the background with Hu Tao 🤣🤣
This has to be satire, can't imagine someone being that close minded
Filipinos, Indonesians, Malaysian, and Singaporese: Uh, we do not talk about being open minded here.
Sincerely, a Filipino
At this point, I’m certain that anyone defending High Guardian Spice is just doing it to be a contrarian. That has to be the reason.
Nobody cares about the story. Outside of Slime Boy, nobody cares about the characters. the animation is bland and full of errors. The audio mixing is beyond inconsistent. The dialogue is so stilted and unnatural. The representation is ham-fisted according to the people it’s supposed to be representing. And whatever themes this show has are present in better material elsewhere.
Anyone defending this show is just doing it to go against the grain or out of spite because they idiotically believe that the people who don’t like it are bigots who never gave it a shot. There’s no other logical explanation.
* Insert leftist insults and screeching *
León I thought the purple haired girl was actually a pretty funny character, other than that I agree with you.
I might be a contrarian but mostly I just hate the people that hate it. They're annoying as hell and focus way to much on their biases based on ID/pol to give a shit about being critical in media analysis. So yeah I guess I do it out of spite. Personally I don't even like the show.
The show is just mid tier crap that wont get a second season. People treat it like it's actually the worst piece of animated media. I feel bad for the show in a way, not really the writers but the show itself.
The first and last word in High Guardian Spice should be a hell of a dead giveaway.
"How High Guardian Spice defenders THIS crazy!?:
I mean... they like the show.
Which is more destructive on the human body and mind?
Spice from dune or high guardian spice?
The latter.
The nsfw is decent, but you don't need to watch the "show"
2:24 Stein's Gate great representation! Love that character!
(Spoiler if I'm correct) He/she after learning about what Okabe went through accepts their identity. Also how friendly and accepting everyone is about His/her identity.
I don’t like the the time travel involving paradoxes in them like in Steins Gate, Bayonetta 2, and Jak 2; I like time travel more involving multiverse theory like in the Cell Saga of DBZ and the time of One Piece, but you’re right that Okabe was the best transgender character in a time travel series.
@@RoronoaZoro-ur6hr Ah, no Okabe is the main character. lol
I think you meant Ruka. (I just forgot his/her name earlier.)
Also fair enough multiverse theory wasn't really explored much or even at all in stein's gate. The closest to it is Parallel timelines where in one timeline Ruka was physically a male and the other a female. That is a simple take to the identity story of Ruka.
The background was literally making me die inside
I’m so sorry for your suffering 💀👍🏻
Every anime might be a cartoon, but not every cartoon is an anime.
With how awful HGS is, you have to be next level mental to defend it.
Not even that.
You have to be inbred within your own SOUL to believe it is a good show.
Constantly moving the goalpost I see. When you get an answer on something that disproves your initial statement, then you add something else to the statement to make it harder to disprove until you win your argument that way. 🙂
Named anime’s with gay and lesbian representation. Then added if they had Trans representation as If gay and lesbian alone is not good enough. Yuri on ice is a homosexual anime done right. I’m straight, I only watched some because of friends, but overall I could tell they relationship was natural and not forced. I don’t mind gay representation and stuff like it. I might not be into it or like looking at it, but I’m fine with it. It’s just when the character is gay and that is their only “good” attribute, the character sucks.
That's why you don't have actual arguments with them. Instead, you call them all the insults they've been calling everyone else these last few years.
"Anime has everything to do with animation"
My organs cringed.
Look at Ashley's hairstyle and you know it all.
kinda embarrassed since that person is a Filipino, and the anime community here don't even talk about high guardian spice, at all afaik.
yeah, Pinoy and Malay/Indo Twitter is filled with Garbage at times.
Odd how people are so fixated with lgbtq characters
Go to some forums where LGBT users are unfiltered. You'll know why.
They really don't care about LGBT they only care about the big thing on Twitter I'm 100% sure this person has never done anything to actually help the LGBT + community in fact if they actually cared they would not be focused on stupid things like a garbage cartoon and actually be focused on the bad things that happen to the LGBT community in places like Russia and other countries that are against LGBT.
>Stick with your straight anime
>Yuri on ice referenced in thread
Lmao
"It's on chruchyroll so it's an anime"
A lion in a forest is therefore a tiger
I’m just confused as too why you’re using Hu Tao, Thom and Bennett against pyro slimes
seeing the letlenilead and neverforget hashtags makes me ashamed that the main defender of the show is a filipino
yeah. Rastaman for president
Technically any animation is anime.
If you ask a random japanese person what's their favorite anime, some of them will answer "minions".
HEROHEI
YOU’RE BREAKING US WITH THE ONGOING BACKGROUND GENSHIN FIGHTS
Wait, HGS fans exist?
They are on copium
Ikr
There the stupid woke Twitter people.
I like how your using your fire team to fight fire. I do the same but with electro. Razor,Lisa,Fishil and electro traveler vs. the electro cube
"Why does representation matter" finally someone askin the big questions
Update for everyone wanting to know about Ashley: after this video, I joined in to fight Ashley, it took months of effort, but eventually, On April 11 of 2022, AshleyMaru got suspended
Hero Hei, Neko or Kitsune?
usually neko
All forms of kemonomimi are great, but nekos are definitely a cut above the rest.
Kitsune are definitely a close second.
Okay, so this "Ashleymaru" wants LGBT representation in anime, right? Not only gay couples & lesbian couples, right?
Mnemosyne is an anime about girl-on-girl relationship & it has a trans character.
@Carl Rodriguez not to mention look at her twitter bio, sound cringey in terms of politics.
Fun fact: the #LetLeniLead from their display name is about the 2022 presidential elections of the Philippines
ANIME is like "slang" for japanese animation, like ppl say cartoon are for north america , animados for SOUTH america, donghua for CHINESE "ANIME" etc etc
Bruh I hate when people say anime is the artstyle😭
People say my art is anime even though it doesn't look like it, nor am I Japanese.
I always just say that anime is just the Japanese word for animation
Honestly any art with normal proportions is considered anime. Don’t feel bad about it dude. They aren’t insulting you
@@spaacedust what
@@ream1622 I’m saying if your art style is not cartoony it’s considered anime to a lot of people. At least from what I’ve seen
@@spaacedust disregarding the entire concept of realism now are we? And I've never seen *anyone* think not western cartoony = anime
@@ream1622 that’s for you. I’m talking about what I’ve seen. For example, people consider avatar and teen titans anime because of the way it was drawn. I’m not disregarding realism
Care bears was my favourite anime as a toddler.
"Some Animes are way better than this terrible show"
>Some
This reminds me of Activision remake defenders, especially one in particular. You weren't allowed to dislike it, even for valid reasons.
