You must watch the stage for Always You. This song is very special and emotional for all Aroha. Fantagio was going through a crisis and Astro went radio silent for about 8 months. There were a few old vlogs posted but nothing new. There were rumors of disbandment, fans left, it was a truly dark time. Then this dropped. It is a tribute to all Aroha who stayed with them. All the lyricas are to the fans. There is a performance cut of the dance line but to truly appreciate it you have to watch the comeback stage here: ruclips.net/video/dsT0OuLGjdU/видео.html The fact that you can feel all those emotions and not know the history speaks volume.
All Night is their first win. After the turmoil in Fantagio, this win was extra special. They all broke down when they won. I typically do not care for (American) rap. This was one of the first Astro MVs I saw and it took me half a beat to realize a member was rapping. By the time my brain went, "Wait he was..." it switched. When they did it a second time I absolutely adored Jinjin (orange hair) in the tree and the conversational rap tone of Rocky. A lot of kpop groups are fantastic at integrating rap into their songs and it isn't just the obligator rap line. Astro has some magic that it feels different and is seamless; especially the ballads.
The vocalist that is smacking you speachless is MJ. He is the vocal powerhouse happy virus. He is currently enlisted. If you hear a crazy high note, 95% of the time it's MJ.
Plus the fact that Rocky and Jinjin write their own rap parts themselves

ALWAYS YOU have a special space in every Arohas heart. The lyrics are so so so sad but Astro really put their whole heart into it.
Always you was released during theit hiatus bec of their agency's issue that they almost got bankrupt and Astro thought they might disband. But they survived. The All Night was released and gave them their first win 4 years after debut 💜
Always You is THAT song. It marked their return to production as a love letter to those fans who stuck with them during a tough time when their future was quite uncertain. Then along comes All Night and it gives us the first of the more mature concepts. At that point, maknae Sanha (lavender hair) was 19 and it was time to leave behind high school concepts for college ones, and in my opinion the "college years" encompass Blue Flame and Knock and by One we've graduated into the post-college phase. And like _of course_ our group choreographed in a hand through the hair during a sexy dance move moment (15:05). Legends. All Night really was their re-entry into more of the mainstream, though. They won their first award, and the choreography and stages were epic because of the whole princely feel of the costuming and ethereal nature of the album as a whole. I totally get having a moment with these two songs, and highly recommend watching an Always You live stage when you can. Congrats on your move, hope it went as smoothly as it could!

Always You and All Night are Astro's and Aroha's queens cause of the importance of both songs. One (Always You) is a completly message to arohas than never left their side (after months of not knowing what happened with them), the lyric is so emotional... And All Night is their 1st win, they all cried after all the sad time and the hard work.

Always You is also my favorite Astro title track by far. There is an official dance cut, which just shows the dance line (Jinjin, Bin, Rocky) doing the choreo sections used in the MV, but there's no official dance practice, and the best view we ever get of the choreo is the Mnet still cam of the performance (ruclips.net/video/p0M5ewcge-I/видео.html). Always You is also the first time we really get to hear Rocky sing on a title track (except for the bits and pieces he and Jinjin had on Crazy Sexy Cool, though if you turn on the subtitles those are marked as "all" erroneously).
The choreo for All Night is lovely, and that much floor work takes so much energy, but they nailed it (and also kudos to MJ for doing those vocal adlibs at the end while also doing the floor work). At the start of the dance practice, Bin jumped up to turn on the music, which was on Jinjin's phone, only he didn't know the passcode to unlock the phone, so Jinjin got up to help him, only Eunwoo shouted out the passcode (which was what was bleeped out), and Jinjin was indignant that Eunwoo just...blurted out his passcode for everyone else to hear.
You are speaking about the emotions that I often felt when I watched or listened to Astro. I questioned myself, since I don't even speak Korean and didn't know what the lyrics were, as to how I could feel that deeply about something I didn't understand. At first, I wasn't sure why I felt it so strongly, either, until I finally heard their story and how everything that they do is for Aroha. 95% of their content, song lyrics, etc. are all for us. 'Always You' was written for us just after a dark time in their career when they weren't even sure if they would be able to continue as a group. It was heartbreaking (this is talked about in Astroad2 to Seoul). They turned to us. The earlier songs like this one are wrought with emotion, longing for us to stay and wondering if we will. Even the song 'knock' is them looking for us, and so many times they promise to stay for us. They also use tons of symbolism in their videos.
We are not like other fandoms where the performers just write a 'fan song' to 'thank the fans', it is much deeper than that; we treat each other like family and the music connects us. Astro often talks about wanting to create memories with us, rather than just entertaining us and connecting with us deeply through emotions is one way they do. Welcome to the family, Aroha. 💜
Maybe you felt the emotions because Astro really put their life into this song. With the company almost dissolving and the group almost disbanding, coming back and pouring their heart to whatever amount of faithful fans were left is inevitably emotional.
If you look at the contrast between Rocky and Jinjin's rap after the first chorus around 1:30, Rocky's lyrics tries to say "It's okay. I am strong." whereas Jinjin's immediate next line goes "No I am not. I need you." That always makes me cry.
I like that you watch then in order, you can see how much they grow too
All Night is my favorite Astro Title track. It also won them their first win. ☺️
These two songs are still my favorites from astro and some of my favorite boy group songs ever.

Thanks for the beautiful and genuine reaction. I like when people really listen to a song and not react just for the sake of reacting. Few people already wrote why Always You and All Night are important for Astro and Aroha, so I will not repeat that. But I hope you also read Always You's lyrics, it is really good. All Night is interesting for me because I don't like R&B but I really like that song. And especially the choreo is quite interesting since it is almost all floor work and there are very intricate hand and arm movements. As you said it is both delicate and powerful at the same time. I'm sure Astro will continue to surprise you. I guess the next is Blue Flame so get ready to see a new side of them:)

The boys really managed to express all their feelings through the lyrics and the amazing choreography. If you want to appreciate the complete choreography you should see the live performance. And I agree about All Night's choreography, it's truly unique. Also not all choreographies make a group have to dance on the floor in so many parts of the song
Always You and All Night are so so so special 💜 I loved everything about the Rise Up mini album and All Light album especially because All Night was the song Astro won for the 1st time at the music show after years of hard work, unforgettable memory!! love my boys so much, beyond proud of everything they’ve accomplished so far and there’s much more to come, they are everything to me! There's a performance video for "Always You" but it only shows the dance line - Jinjin, Rocky, Moonbin and only the chorus part. Still it's so awesome bec Jinjin and Rocky created the choreography last minute to include on the MV. They have live stages of the full choreography for the whole group, I hope you found it already. If you have, isn't it the greatest? I just love this song so much.
I'm wondering, are you going to include sub-units/solos in your exploration of their music? Personally I would include them, because astro doesn't even seem to view the units as separate things lol they're all astro, whether apart or together, so it would make sense to go over them as well

Note that the dance line (Moonbin, Rocky, JinJin) only had a couple of hours to come up with the choreography you see in the MV. Not sure if they also did the full choreography or if they had help, but the moves in the MV were incorporated in the full one. Throughout their discography if you decide to checkout the live performances of some of their B sides, you will see the members having a hand in the choreography (Butterfly, Morning Call, Fireworks, Your Love, When the Wind Blows, Star (not too sure about this but it looks like Rocky's work) and probably more that I don't know about).
All Night is still all time fav ASTRO song! So, so good! Chills everytime i hear it and watch the choreo!

"Always You" is one of my absolute favorite Astro songs (along with "Again") I sing it so often even my kids can sing it eventhough they have no idea what the lyrics mean hahaha.... "All Night" is something special. This title track gave Astro their very 1st music show award. It was a happy and emotional time back then. This is so catchy too. All Night es un video exelente, es arte, un video impecable en todos los aspectos, donde todos los detalles fueron muy cuidados… Astro un exelente grupo… con exelentes bailarines los principales son Rocky y Moonbin,…. Un vocalista que llega a notas de soprano MJ, dos exelentes raperos, el coreano más visual que es Eunwoo… pero todos lo son, príncipes de la sincronización… Jinjin y Rocky autores de muchas de sus canciones, Rocky es coreógrafo y para mi el mejor bailarín del K-Pop lastima que no han sido reconocidos como merecen…

Always you is one of the most painful songs I knew. It's so rare for reactors to understand and feel the emotions of the song. You're the only reactor I watched that understand and felt it. I'm so happy knowing you're chanel.
