- This is season 2 of Sneak Previews. In this episode, Siskel and Ebert review: Alien, The Promise, The Prisoner of Zenda, Saint Jack and Battlestar Galactica.
Wow! 45 years ago. 😊 RIP Gene and Roger 😢🙏🙏
What I love about Alien is that if they had just listened to Parker they all could have survived. But if you have a corporate android on the ship programmed to manipulate the situation any way he can to get this thing home, it makes for a tragedy in the making. Simple yet brilliant film.
Alien, in the theater. Still leaves me speechless. 😮
Sorry, Roger, "The Brood' is fantastic. lol
23:40 "Rock climbing, guys. Rock climbing. Rock. Climbing."
Glen Larson-y did the same thing with Battlestar Galactica that he eventually did with Buck Rogers. Difference is, Galactica the movie came out AFTER the TV series crashed and burned, so it came across as trying to swindle a few shekels out of an audience that didn't watch the TV series anyway.
Whereas, Buck Rogers the movie premiered BEFORE the TV series premiered, and so it attracted attention for potential TV viewers, and the TV series lasted 2 seasons. But then, the series eventually self-destructed for other reasons....
Hope to see more episodes from 1997.
You so right I'm talking where Anaconda, Volcano, Con Air......man i need all 1997 that year was great for films

I need to see the one from 1995 the bridges of Madison County & Die Hard With a Vengeance. Also from 1996 the one with Sling Blade.
Ben Gazzara was a great. Denholm Elliot was a great
Alien-huge thumbs up. Saint Jack-big thumbs up.
A shot of the mountain
No Star Wars didn't pioneer truckers in space : it was Dark Star !
😊
Which had the same screen writer, so it makes sense.
@18:25 actually...
The Brood is nothing near the dog of the week. Ebert was wayyy off again.
I really wanted to like The Promise. Great concept, lame execution.
