- This is season 2 of Sneak Previews. In this episode, Siskel and Ebert review: Phantasm, Boulevard Nights, Last Embrace and Voices.
The kid in "Phantasm" had a gun tucked in his pants, why didn't he pull it out and shoot him at the door....or in the car ?
Sneak Previews was probably the name that they should have stuck with.
They couldn't. Sneak Previews was the name they had on Public Television. When they moved to syndication they had to legally change the name.
@@manekakapoor1612Yup.
Last Embrace was just so-so as a thriller (Jonathan Demme needed a bit more seasoning) but I thought Janet Margolin was wonderful. She created a very unique femme fatale, one that relied on shyness and an appealing awkwardness to entice her prey. She alone made the film worth seeing.
It’s lots of fun watching these old Siskel & Ebert shows. I think I saw VOICES, but don’t remember much about it. I love PHANTASM, but I get why people don’t. It’s a very strange movie. I own a copy of THE LAST EMBRACE on Blu-ray and it’s just okay. Not bad, but not great. Don’t think I ever saw BOULEVARD NIGHTS.
phantasm was meant to be watched high , at a midnight showing
I took my first date to Phantasm. I thought it would be fun scary and my date might take my hand. Instead it was gory but still managed to be boring. It wasn't easy getting her to go on a second date.
I don't think any horror fans were bored with "Phantasm." One of the best horror films of the 70s.
@@citygirl5705 It was a long time ago but that is my memory of it. I don't doubt that a lot of people like it.
@@presto709It was one of the worst horror movies I’ve ever seen and I like some bad horror movies.
@@ronsmac Good to know I'm not alone.
I haven’t seen any of these movies.
Last Embrace started well but it ended up going nowhere. Very disappointing.
There’s this new show called fantasma that’s on hbo and it’s actually fire.
