    I loved this tutorial. Maybe you can teach more about perspective, how to think, how to sketch, and enviroments or backgrounds with characters.

      @@Antonioinho perspective and environments is something that I have to learn myself first before I can share any knowledge, I have some basic perspective knowledge but that would be something more for the future 🫡

    I struggle with going from the low poly head to the final sketch. Maybe its struggling with lineweight, shape design, or just choosing what to imply? Got any advice for this portion of the process?

    • @bigtravsartroad1967
      @bigtravsartroad1967  21 день назад +1

      First:
      Always use references when trying to learn this things, you can put the reference on the right and a draw on the left side to try to match the references proportions, even better you can draw the low poly head on top of the reference to help you understand the angle and how the features that you are going to draw are place in the face, this will help you out a lot for when you are drawing on the left side by yourself
      Second:
      If your struggles are not with the low poly head itself, and more with the shape deign, then try to pic one or two features that you really like from the character/person you want to draw and exaggerate it a bit, make that your main selling point, it could be anything really, how sharp the eyes are, how big the eyebrows are, how round is the face, anything
      and maybe try also to make some contrast between complex or detail parts, against more simple and areas of rest parts
      Third:
      I like to think about line weight in my drawings as a very simplify version of ambient occlusion(parts where light can't reach)
      When you are doing your sketch or line drawing, try to imagine a light source( I almost always choose top light for example), then just make the lines more thick and opaque in those "ambient occlusion" , and more thin and light where the light is suppose to hit.
      I hope that's helpful somehow😁, is kind of hard to tell without seeing your drawing
      Maybe I should make a email for feedback purposes? 🤔

      @bigtravsartroad1967 that's extremely helpful, thank you!! I'm so excited to try implementing this advice. On the feedback email, that's definitely something I'd be willing to pay for if you're interested? You have a great talent for explaining things! I spend many hours practicing, but high quality feedback is hard to find. Anyway, great work thank you!

      @ - hey, all jokes aside…
      I avoided learning to draw the skull for years and thought I could find easier ways to simplify the head, but there really is no way around it and once you start understanding basic shape proportions it’s really not that difficult to draw it from any angle - it is a MUST to learn!!

      @ totally agreed on that one, that’s the reason why I’m learning now all the fundamentals slowly but surely, cause ironically that’s the fastest way to learn how to draw in my opinion
