String hoppers .. One of my favorite food its really good with that dhal curry , pol sambol or with a fish curry or gravy ... when you buy king coconut from roadside try to buy coconut which are not directly under the sunlight ..bcs their taste become sour when they keep under Sunlight ..Others are sweeter.. Welcome to Sri Lanka. Coconut roti is different to string hoppers though both are good breakfast meals. You can try roti next time. Even egg hoppers are nice. There are plenty of very tasty Sri Lankan delicacies if you are still in SL can try.
Watch for the occasional scammers, otherwise most people are reasonable and helpful. Take care and enjoy your stay. 😊
