The lengths of the side platforms for Dreamland is actually significant for peach players - you can do a down throw reaction techchase combined with a standard chaingrab on platforms to rack up huge damage, and when remembering the %s that it stops working each platform is different. The left platform works to about 80%, while the right platform can sometimes squeeze out another down throw. Now the TOP platform being significantly bigger means that by the time this down throw chaingrab stops working, you can up throw > nair and usually kill, resulting in an almost 0 to death from a grab for Falcon (chaingrab % starts at around 10%). The fact that the top platform is bigger makes you able to 0 to death spacies/falcon (although it's much more easier/practical for bad reaction techchasers on falcon). I'm sure there's something similar for other characters with the top platform in particular.
Falco can also platform dash from ledge on right side while whispy is blowing to the right. he can't on the left side while whispy blows to the left (I think)
Ness's jab foot hitbox is extremely useful because it lets you jab reset if you land behind someone after dair. I recall it almost being removed from PM at some point, presumably because a dev said "why the hell is that there?", and all the Ness mains revolted.

Thanks for the tip about ganon's second jab! If I'm playing melee with items on against someone, and happen to accidentally jab the wrong way, I'll do a double jab to bring ganon's hitbox slightly forward for a narrow dodge via micro-spacing.
Great editing, as always. Long forgotten are the days of gameplay compilations. This is great content in every way, from the subject, to the script and the flawless presentation. The best Melee content on RUclips, for sure.
Roy's player select always bothered me, and I couldn't figure out why until this video. It also appears to be bigger than any other character. And that also explains why I would get hit by ness when standing behind him. I always assumed it was just jank hitbox getting caught on his front jab.
You could have told another quirk in the character select screen The clone characters are actually farther back from the camera compared to everyone else
I’ve watched you for awhile now. Mostly started out with a rare video or two awhile ago, and have now come back and started watching most of your videos. Quality content that finds a way of not turning stale and covering a great game, with a great style of narration. I play Ness quite a lot. The foot hit box on jab1 is VERY useful for jab resetting an opponent that DIs behind you. Ness tends to get a lot of knockdowns, meaning that an opportunity to jab reset is not very rare!

Dreamland platforms allow different side b edge cancels for fox and falco, while also having slightly more time to punish those under the lower platform
I think the dreamland platform fact is actually useful for either fox or falco, because they can do a side b edge cancel off on and not the other. I don't remember the exact details, but I think Ginger talked about it once.
My favourite piece of useless melee knowledge is that in tiny melee, donkey kong holding a barrel is tied with captain falcon for the fastest character in the mode
I'm pretty sure the platforms are like that on Dreamland 64 because the developers were too lazy to make the platforms completely even I mean the error is still in ultimate
the worst part about being early and calling first is that the conditions on release date of said video is not always the best conditions, you may have work to do or complete, or your room is messy and cluttered, there still may be other things on your mind, the bottom line is that its much better to fix pressing matters and clean up after yourself before you enjoy quality youtube content like AsumSaus. Generally it is much better to let videos from your favorite artist to build up so when your having a free day you can relax in your underwear, sipping some chamomile tea in the breezy mid day, making a playlist for all the quality content that may have come out in that week. making a list of youtubers that make quality content helps me to check in on them from time to time, youtube itself is unreliable as a means of finding exactly what i am looking for at a given moment, yes sometimes i love to put on youtube to shut my brain off, but i dont like doing that everyday, sometimes i need that edgy or controversial, sometimes i crave that informative, and sometimes i revel in the downright retarded, a robot can understand that i like all of these things and find them for me, but that robot cannot predict what i want to watch next. instead of keeping 12+ youtube tabs open i shall compile a personal list of videos to watch when my mood dictates rather than force myself to watch something day one.

big brain
It also affects waveland timings, which can kinda mess with you if you’re trying to practice it specifically for dreamland.
While Mario can still auto-cancel his up-B on both lower platforms, it's a couple frames slower on the right platform.
Falco can also platform dash from ledge on right side while whispy is blowing to the right. he can't on the left side while whispy blows to the left (I think)
