We went on and he held onto me for dear life, I was so worried that I had scarred him for life. We get off, he looks at me and says “let’s do that again!!!!!” Excellent vacation
I didn't warn my kids how scary Space Mountain was. We got off and my two youngest looked shell shocked for a little bit. My very youngest is still a fan, but my second youngest is mildly autistic and that was just a bit much for him. When we went back to Space Mountain later, he went to ride cars, but my youngest was all about doing it again.
My son is Autistic as well and he just loves fast and wild rides! He is 8 and he’s already asking to do feet dangling, high speed flip rollercoasters 😂. Thanks for sharing that with us! 👍

We were at the passholder event last night and space mountain was down right before that. My friend and I made a bee line for people mover. I love getting the video and pics of it with the lights on. It's kinda scarier seeing it lit up to be honest. Lol
Made a special trip over to Tomorrowland just to do this. Space Mtn was being refurbished, so we took the PM through it. Sure looks like a twisted mess with the lights on!

Jakob Carman I wish splash mountain at Disneyland would have lapbars. The first time I rode splash mountain I felt a little more nervous since there were no lapbars or seatbelts.
That happened to me last time I was at Disney. It broke for about five minutes at the very beginning, and I maxed the score before the ride even started back up. I took a picture of the score since I know I will never get it that high again

Totally agree with the 5 minutes before Park Closing! The wait times are inflated for most rides at that time. Me and my friends jumped in line for Space Mountain at 11:55pm and it said the wait time was 70 minutes. It only took us 15 minutes to get on the ride!
the splash mountain drop is BEAUTIFUL at night ! The castle is all lit up and you get a direct view of it on the drop. You definitely have to see it Atleast once!
As someone who volunteers at a zoo, I’d add that even though animals tend to be more active when it’s cooler, it doesn’t assure anything. For example, big cats sleep/rest 20 hours a day, so don’t get upset with cast members if they’re just “lion around”. And for god’s sake, NEVER roar, scream, bang on the glass or make other noises to try to wake animals up or get their attention. Your perfect photo is not worth causing stress to the animals.
Jenny & Craig Adventures exactly. I just saw w/in the last few weeks that someone was on Kilimanjaro safari @ AK and one person on their vehicle was doing just that, even after being asked to stop by the cast member. Idiot got the whole vehicle driven back to start and kicked off.
I used to be a safari driver at animal kingdom and dusk was the worst time. The animals might have been more active, but they all know it's almost time to go in and get fed that they just cluster around the exits. If they're especially cranky they'll often let them in early so you'll get to where the elephants should be and you go "and if you look around, you might see some elephants! Or not, they might literally be gone."
My husband and I went just the two of us 5 years ago for our anniversary. We made it a goal to do every ride in the MK in a single day. The last ride of the day was the Astro Orbiters (because we started over by Pirates and worked our way around). And we accidentally ended up on it during the fireworks. It was ABSOLUTELY the best way to see the fireworks. You hear the music, don't have to stand in a crowd and you're on a ride for part of it. It was AMAZING!
"Ride one of the others. Your kids won't know the difference." Are you sure you have kids? I once saw one throw a fuss because the tea cup they were on wasn't their favorite color.
Hey so at Kali river rapids our lockers are free to use for up to 2hours! They are to help accommodate since the middle plastic is gone!! But they are free!!!
You guys help me a lot! Last time I’ve been at WDW was 8 years ago and now I’m going for 2021 and I really can’t wait! Thank you guys for helping us see important details. Love you!
I’m going 2021 too! It’s not THAT far. It’s a 10 Grand trip (I’ve got four kids and a hubs) so it takes some intense planning. And saving!! We’re doing January. I can’t wait!!
Major yes to consistently refreshing the fastpass screen! I've scored Flight of Passage fastpasses the day before going to Animal Kingdom during spring break! And definitely click through all the times that show up on the screen because sometimes available morning FP's will show up in the evening time slots for whatever reason (ex: checking for a 7PM fastpass time, an 11:30am slot shows as available) Don't give up hope on those E-ticket attractions, keep trying!
Found out I'm going back to Disney world this summer (after 6 years) to celebrate my high school graduation. I'm super excited! This channel is super helpful!
I am going to WDW in a few days and I find the park hopper pass very helpful. You can go back to your hotel room in the middle of the day, swim, take a nap and then go back to the park when it starts to get cooler. Then stay till fireworks. Trust me! It’s worth it.
I don’t think you need Park Hopper for that... as long as you are returning to the same park you can do that just fine. Park Hopper is more for if you want to go to a different park after your nap.
The restaurant was taking forever to prepare our food, and my friends and I really wanted to ride Flight of Passage one last time before the park closed. When we got our food there was only 15 minutes left before the closing time, so we quickly ate a few bites, asked for the check immediately and also for our food to be packed, and rushed as though we were running for our lives towards the ride. We got in line for fight of passage one minute before it closed 😂
My family and I arrived at Animal Kingdom 5-minutes before rope-drop and immediately headed over to Flight of Passage. There was no early hours that day. No joke, by the time we got there, the line was already back in the Africa area and took 240-minutes (2h-30m). To me though, it was totally worth it. It's insane...!
@@gabrielfrench8382 guess that happens a lot then, cause the same happened to us on the same day, we arrived right when the park opened and we went all the way back to the Lion King place just to wait in line...
I released my Slinky Dog FastPass a day in advance and thought immediately of the lucky person who would pick it up. Immediately got that ride karma and picked up a day-before FastPass for Frozen Ever After.
We lined up for the Alice in Wonderland ride at the time of one of the parades, it was perfect because the line was short because everyone was watching the parade, and we had a perfect view of the parade while lining up.
I think your videos are the best combination of useful information and entertainment on this subject on YT. Could you do a video for Disney fans with conditions that relegate them to visiting the parks at a slower pace without doing any of the "thrill rides" or the more intense attractions? What is the best way to walk the parks that offer lots of shades and spots to sit and rest?
I went on space maintain splash mountain and thunder mountain before primeval whirl and dwarf ride existed( back in the 90s) and I’m proud to say I love them all!!!
I'm sure you've heard this before, but you have a FANTASTIC voice for narration! I love to listen to your videos while I'm working on boring stuff because your voice is soothing and I get super excited hearing all about Disney! Double win!
My friend and I did the single rider line on all three mentioned! Just for fun we pretended not to know each other and even let a person or two go between us! Worked GREAT!
Last time I went to Disney World I rode Expedition Everest 12 times in one day (through fast passes, and the single rider line) and I’ve gotta say my favorite spot is in the front, it has the best views (especially at the broken track) and since the coaster goes backwards you get more of the pull and speed because at that point you’re the last car.
We aren’t going until 2021 but I’ve started watching your videos religiously! I thought I knew a lot about Disney but I was totally wrong lol thanks AJ!
Raising Ryan honestly, my husband booked a trip for Christmas (we went in March) and I watched all of the vids 2x over before we went. I felt like a pro!
I'm not going until 2023! Taking hubby for his 50th and our little boy will be almost 9 then so a good age for the bigger rides but still able to do the smaller ones too ....yet here I am 😂 x
Girl yes! Just out here trying to plan the trip of our dreams! My little one will only be 4 but oh well! We can always do rider switch LOL @@ginaborland3857
These are great tips! Some of my favorite safari rides were while it was raining because that’s when the elephants like to play in the water. 💜 I also love the backseat because you can see the animals longer as you pass by.
Expedition Everest is my favorite at night! My twin and I like getting into the single rider line to ride it over and over again (of course we aren’t those jerks trying to get row one or expect to ride together) until it closes just because the sunset is so beautiful. Posing for the camera also becomes a fun time!
Tip: if you want to ride Expedition Everest repeatedly without wait get in line about 15-30 minutes before park close. My family and I did this and we rode it until park close with no wait in between
Here’s a little tip for fast passes. Disney sometimes releases more fast passes day of at 11am florida time. So if u want a last minute day of fastpass have your app open at 11am
tips like this make soarin flight attendants lose their sanity at merge point.. you don’t request a concourse. each concourse has b GATE which is the center carriage in all three theaters. B GATE is where you want to sit to be center of the screen. Every concourse has B gate. B concourse is just a theater.
Alexis DeRose Agreed. This channel is usually pretty solid but occasionally some of these “tips” are just terrible. DON’T be this type of guest unless you want to irritate both fellow guests and especially the cast members. They simply can’t let everyone make requests like this and accommodate everyone so don’t be the entitled person thinking you deserve special treatment or that you’re the only one who would like to sit in the very middle. ALL the seats are tested for visibility by the imagineers. You’ll enjoy the ride regardless so just don’t do this. EVERYONE dislikes guests who act like this, especially entitled Passholders. (I myself am a passholder and these people drive me crazy).
For the least intensity on a rollercoaster, you actually want to be in the middle. The front isn't bad on drops cuz you're partway down the hill as the train picks up speed, BUT you're going to get pushed up the other side and may get thrown around a curve. It's a different thrill than the whipping around in the back seat, but just as intense in its own way. So, best to be in the middle to get a happy medium between the two intensities if you have nervous kids (or adults!).
About rides being better at night...I LOVE timing my wait in Big Thunder so it coincides with the fireworks. It's a similar feel on Splash Mountain's outdoors sections.
We took our five year old on Expedition Everest for her first roller coaster. She cried all the way through the ride and all the way to the gift shop where she cried harder because we had a Fast Pass for something else and couldn't ride it again. We bought her a yeti plush to get her to leave the area and she did it again a few days later with no tears. She also did Rock n Roller Coaster the next day and loved it.
You're videos are the best! I really love all the tips videos lately. Keep them coming :) Can you do a video ranking the Deluxe resorts, another one ranking the moderate, and another ranking the value? Oh and another video ranking the best resorts for transportation, as in the most/best non-bus options. I know that's a lot of requests, but it would be SUPER helpful! I've heard honor stories of people waiting hours for buses, I want to avoid buses as much as possible.
It helps to pull up you tube POV videos to show kids before and prepare them. A lot of time its fear of the unknown that is scaring them the most. 1st trip my 5 year old would not go near haunted mansion. Before the next trip (age 6)I showed him lots of you tube videos and explained special effects and he was good to go. Loves it now
Another great thing to look out for is if a ride breaks down. My last time in Animal Kingdom fight of passage broke down so people gave up their fast passes for it. We ended up getting an evening fast pass and the ride was back up and working when we went to use it! It was an awesome piece of added magic to our vacation!
Rider switch can be sorta odd. The cast member at Space Mountain had me stand off to the side, then basically forgot I was there. A manager came through, asked why I was standing in that spot, when I said "this is where she said to stand for rider switch." He stifled a sigh and brought me through to board the ride. I think they need to communicate more clearly to the CMs how to run rider switch.
@@mommymarine1756 I meant what I said. Rider switch. My husband and I swapped our daughter at the ride exit as instructed, then I returned to the spot the CM instructed me to go to when we swapped, and she essentially ignored me.
I definitely agree. I feel like some cast members don't like it and feel like you're abusing the system so they make it harder. We went to Disneyland with my 5 year old and 2 year old and we kind of gave up on it after trying a few times. We just decided we'd both pick our favorite rides to ride with my son and the other would just miss it and sit with my daughter or do something else 🤷
Last time we went to Disney World, it was for October's Disney After Dark. Completely different experience, and 100% worth it. We accidentally timed our riding of 7 Dwarves Mine Train with the Happily Ever After show, and it was something else.
The disability service really helped my mom and I when we went a couple years ago. We almost cancelled the trip bc my mom has mobility issues and they began to get a lot worse just weeks before we left. But we called and they helped us with everything! Including ensuring we had a room on the ground floor in our resort so she wouldn’t have to climb stairs. She also couldn’t have stood in any line that was over a 30 minute wait, so the disability access helped us be able to ride rides that have insane line wait times (like the Pandora rides and splash mountain!)
Another Ride Hack: go on roller coasters when it rains, you'll get an extra fun experience! My first Disney trip when I was 6 (we went in June) my dad and I went on Primeval Whirl in the pouring rain and had an absolute blast! We dried up pretty quickly too about 10 mins later. In early March 2010 (right before all spring breakers) my aunt, uncle and myself only waited 5 mins in the single rider line to ride Expedition Everest. My second time I was about to ride it, my aunt got put right behind me, and the two people we were supposed to ride with were also odd members out, and didn't mind switching places with me so I could sit with my aunt. Instead of waiting over an hour, we only waited 5 mins on Single Rider line and were able to sit next to each other! Ride Hack: if you and your family go on single rider line for Everest and you're placed near each other on line (1 to 2 rows in front or behind you, don't get to crazy), ask the person next to you if you don't mind switching places with your family member (more than likely they are a nice person so they will say yes)!
For HK the hacks are like this: 1. On RC, the CMs will sometimes call out for single riders within the queue (but it's not a separate one). The best seats are in the first row for this ride. I took the first row twice and it was truly amazing. 2. For Hyperspace, try getting a seat towards the front to see better projections. I always got the 5th row. 3. For MM, car 1 or 3 is your best bet as you spend more time in the last room.
My sisters first roller coaster ever was rockin rollercoaster whilst it’s fine coz she loves rollercoasters now the picture from the ride is so funny as she is petrified
Expedition Everest is awesome at night, also, spaceship earth when its 95° outside is a Godsend, it is a fully air conditioned ride that lasts like 10 min.
Well AJ, we finally made it, we are in WDW and there isn't enough water in the world to make the heat bearable. HOWEVER, WDW IS A MIRACLE! I AM SO HAPPY AND BLESSED TO BE HERE. I CANNOT STOP SMILING, MY CHEECKS HURT!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR HELP THIS LAST YEAR! I dont know what I'm gonna do without you.🙁
To add on to DFB’s fastpass part. If you are trying to get last minute fast passes and you are traveling with a large group (5+ people) try to get fast passes that are 15 minutes apart, well splitting the group into several smaller groups. My family did this with test track when we last went (we were a group of 8). We managed to make the fast passes for all of us by splitting up into groups of 2. Smaller groups have easier chances to find last minute fast passes.
I will say (1 year later) that Kilimanjaro Safari is definitely interesting after sunset if you can get a ride in around then. It's a bit harder to see things, but the more nocturnal animals were more active, and it was all-in-all a fun time. Plus, it was pretty much a walk-on back then at that hour. Last ride of the day.
On our first trip we decided our first ride was going to be Space Mountain. Our 5 year old (at the time) was excited but after that he wouldn’t trust us on any ride. But he got over it and will go on any ride now.
Another amazing hack: ask cast members at the front of the big thunder queue to help time your ride to match the fireworks! It’s amazing to see the fireworks burst practically on top of you!
I have no interest in Disney, I have never been and don't plan on ever going, but I've been binging your videos lately because they are just so satisfying to watch, I don't know why!
When I went yo Disney for the first time I was about 4 and I didn’t know what I was getting myself into when I chose big thunder as my first rollercoaster. I got on the ride and the announcer announced something like “this is the wildest ride in the wilderness” and I was done I started balling, never road another coaster for the next couple years now I’m 12 and I love all rollercoasters in Disney
Also another hack with the getting in line right before the park closes is if for example the park closes at 10:00 pm there will be no more FastPass people coming in because there’s no more booked fast pass people so the standby goes a lot quicker
Anyone else think Slinky Dog is wilder than SDMT? We absolutely love SDD, but on our first ride, my daughter and I screamed a lot and got off the ride saying - Wow, that was a lot scarier than it looks! Scary in a good way 😉 I would recommend this order for a young newbie - Barnstormer, SDMT, Big Thunder, Slinky Dog Dash, Space Mtn, Everest, RnR Coaster. Big Thunder Mtn has small hills, but is not as smooth as SDD, so maybe switch those 2, depending on what your family thinks is scarier. Can't wait to add Tron to the list!
More single rider lines, please! I really don't care about riding with the people I'm with, as long as we get on the most rides we can. Universal has more of these and they're great.
we do single rider everytime at alton towers. usually 6 of us. I'd say 8/10 times we still get to sit next to one of your mates. best tip ever for theme parks imo.
speaking from experience Space Mountain is REALLY bad for motion sickness. The fact that you can't see anything is the problem in addition to the speed and getting thrown around.
I find going to Disney after 3:00 is way more fun. Me and my family normally can stay till the park closes if we get to the park at 3:30ish. We always get to ride a lot more, and aren’t as tired as we would be if we get there later. Another bonus: it’s not as hot🤪
For Everest, if someone wants a less wild ride they need to sit in the middle. The front car becomes the back car when you go backwards down the first hill and then the train goes forward down the second hill. Expedition Everest also seems wilder when its dark. Rider Switch I'm sure is awesome, but it doesn't help if your a single parent traveling with just your child.
Glad someone mentioned this - Everest DEFINITELY more intense in the front, plus the reveal at the top is better (spoiler alert). Love this one at night, and wait time is pretty much nonexistent during Rivers of Light; very easy to get multiple rides during and after the show.
I remember back in 1994 my family took our first trip to WDW. My older brother was only 7 and my dad asked if he wanted to go on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad - bud didn't tell him it was a roller coaster. My brother was under the impression it was a nice train ride like the one that goes around the park. He didn't ride another roller coaster for about 10 years after.
I’m 16, my first rollercoaster ever was on Aerosmith and I was in the back clutching my dad and crying before it even started! When it was done I was bawling but I have no regrets and I chickened out the rest of the time but next year I’ll be braver!
I went on a vacation with my parents and younger sister to Disney and universal, and as you said at both places there is a rider switch. Because my sister doesn’t want to go on coasters I went on rides like space mountain and rock roller coaster twice
My 3 y/o is terrified to this DAY of Slinky Dog but LOVED Mine Train.. I personally feel like Slinky Dog was worse than Mine Train.. If you mention Slinky Dog, she immediately says No!🤣🤣
For space ranger spin, aim for the target at the top of the volcano. That gives you a lot of points and you are in that room for a while so you can hit it multiple times

It was AMAZING!
what ride is that
@@chloecollins7513 Astro Orbiters? It's in Tomorrowland, on top of the people mover.
Oo
"Ride one of the others. Your kids won't know the difference." Are you sure you have kids? I once saw one throw a fuss because the tea cup they were on wasn't their favorite color.
LOL
I was thinking the same thing. My kid loves dinosaurs and would not be happy to go on the magic carpet instead. LOL
I don't listen to dfb anymore it's just easier to find your favorite stuff Yourself by the way don't miss Lion King the musical
cmm07r yessssss SEEN IT
cmm07r and the person was like 20 lmao
Big Thunder Mountai during the fireworks is so amazing.
Have you ever rid splash mountain during fireworks?
Hey so at Kali river rapids our lockers are free to use for up to 2hours! They are to help accommodate since the middle plastic is gone!! But they are free!!!
You guys help me a lot! Last time I’ve been at WDW was 8 years ago and now I’m going for 2021 and I really can’t wait!
Thank you guys for helping us see important details. Love you!
Jesus that's a long time from now.
Melisa Rivera *2021?!*
Melisa Rivera I’m going July 2020
Kudos to you for planning ahead! I hope you have a magical time!
@@swampsagacity4685 that seriously sounds awesome. No plan, going with the flow?! Yes! Curious to see what FP's you get.
I was able to get a same day fastpass for flight of passage that way
@@michaelmorones5041 fantastic! People tend to stop looking after they read that they are gone for the day, but that is rarely the case, I feel like.
@@leshaface21 what I did was check every possible time slot at multiple points throughout the day
Michael Morones that’s exactly how I got mine too! It takes time and patience, but it’s absolutely possible to secure those hard to get FP’s!
Found out I'm going back to Disney world this summer (after 6 years) to celebrate my high school graduation. I'm super excited! This channel is super helpful!
I’m such a big fan of this channel!!😁
I am going to WDW in a few days and I find the park hopper pass very helpful. You can go back to your hotel room in the middle of the day, swim, take a nap and then go back to the park when it starts to get cooler. Then stay till fireworks. Trust me! It’s worth it.
I don’t think you need Park Hopper for that... as long as you are returning to the same park you can do that just fine. Park Hopper is more for if you want to go to a different park after your nap.
I'm not even planning for a Disney trip, but I just love watching these DFBGuide videos! They're so well made :)
Katrina Labayen I agree!
Sophie Wang e xx
Rode Test Track at least 30 times bc of the single rider line
My son started with space mountain, big thunder and 7 dwarfs for his first 3 rollercoasters at age 6. He loves them.
I gotta get my daily dose of DFB! I think AJ should do a video on what it takes to get on her crew to work with her😁
Let ME know as soon as you figure out how to make THAT happen! LOL
They're actually hiring! They've been sharing the link to their job offer page on their Instagram recently.
You have to be the coolest Mom AJ 🌼
She IS!
The Soarin' ride vehicle reminds me of the double decker couch from the Lego Movie.
Magic Kingdom at night is really amazing, especially Space Mountain
I once got the best seat on Soarin’. I didn’t ask, but I got the middle seat in the middle row! Lucky!
I’m going in 2020 and these videos are getting me all excited to go!
Raising Ryan we are going July 2020
My family and I did this and we rode it until park close with no wait in between
I live about 45 min from Orlando so I get to go to theme parks relatively frequently and the one thing I have learned is ALWAYS RIDE SINGLE RIDER!
Dinosaur is my absolute favorite ride ever and on my birthday we went on it three times. It was a good day.
Thank you so much for all the videos! I really appreciate 💗
Barnstormer is fairly wicked for a little coaster. Slinky Dog was smooth and fun. I'd start there.
You're videos are the best! I really love all the tips videos lately. Keep them coming :)
Can you do a video ranking the Deluxe resorts, another one ranking the moderate, and another ranking the value?
Larissa Alcorn do you mean single rider? In rider switch, you are waiting for someone to switch and watch a young child who can't ride...
I was just watching this channel! YAY AJ TIME!
For HK the hacks are like this:
I'm so excited I'm going to Disney tomorrow
I dont know what I'm gonna do without you.🙁
Well AJ, we decided we are gonna go back in 2021, so I will be watching you!!!! YAY!!!
Front row is a must on Expedition Everest.
These are super helpful! We’re heading there THIS WEDNESDAY!!! Can’t wait to use some of these tips!
I remember one of my best Disney experiences was riding Splash Mountain 4 times in a row in the single rider line. It was awesome!!
Thanks DFB Team! Will use some of these for my upcoming trip in 12 days! :)
On our first trip we decided our first ride was going to be Space Mountain. Our 5 year old (at the time) was excited but after that he wouldn’t trust us on any ride. But he got over it and will go on any ride now.
Another motion sickness tip. Get something called acupuncture bands. I’ve used them for years and they’ve helped me a lot
Love you AJ!! Thanks for all your incredible tips!!! My family and I love watching DFB Guide! :)
60 days out from our trip today. Booked our fast passes at 7am. We are so excited. Thanks for all the videos and tips!
Thunder mountain during the fireworks is a cool experience! Especiallly going over the hill as the fireworks are going off right in front of you.
we do single rider everytime at alton towers. usually 6 of us.
This past winter I went on the safari ride in the morning right away and it was amazing!!!
I’ve only gone twice. But i still watch these
This really helped me going in 3 days for the first time
I’ve gone on big thunder mountain at WDW and DL during the fireworks at night and it’s a GREAT view of the fireworks mixed with thrills
If you have a fear of heights ask to go on the back row of soarin!! It goes the least amount off of the ground!!
You surely have a pleasant, chill voice. Cheers!
Love AJ and dfb. Super helpful and interesting.
Millenium Falcon also has a single rider line now, and go up the left staircase. Wait time was shorter than the fastpass line!!!
I’m 16, my first rollercoaster ever was on Aerosmith and I was in the back clutching my dad and crying before it even started! When it was done I was bawling but I have no regrets and I chickened out the rest of the time but next year I’ll be braver!
We’ll be there next week!
This is such a great video! We do all these things too when we go! You guys know your stuff!
We got my little sister as far as space mountain. Now we need to get her on RocknRoller Coaster
