Thanks for all you guys do, enjoy your break! Since you guys are on a streak of 1 for "not bait-and-switch" episodes of caravan of garbage, would you guys maybe consider doing the Dark Knight trilogy for real this time?
This film is a tragedy of real life sequences leading to an unnecessary ego project, and I hate that the reality we got out of all those infinite, different theorized versions, was the one where this film existed and had to be led up to by Zack Snyder, a visionary filmmaker who just doesn't like superheroes. Joss Whedon was brought in to oversee the first Justice League movie after a death in Snyder's family, but he oversaw the editing, the cutting, the storyboard scenes and re-arrangement, everything, all under the watchful eye of Zack Snyder who still showed up on set and signed off on everything, he just didn't have the time to do it himself. All of it was Zack's original vision, all of the CG was made under his direction, and he even agreed with the editing choices. It was his film up and down... something fanboys just refuse to acknowledge. Joss Whedon was brought in because of his experience in the genre, and was told to punch up some of the dialogue and editing to make it snappier and less dreary after feedback on the previous Man of Steel and Batman v Superman films, which were oppressively dark and delightfully horribly received to some extent. So Zack Snyder teased his 'missing footage' he never got to use across social media, to get the cultlike Snyder fans to push for an unprecedented retry that cost Warner Bros tens of millions of dollars and consists of less than 50% original footage. Zack Snyder was paid overwhelmingly and given a massive budget and incredible creative freedom on a risk-free unHollywoodably long redo of his entire failed third movie in DC's biggest headlining franchise, partly out of pity and partly out of fan pressure, giving Zack Snyder the ability to both distance himself from the awful original cut of the movie that was almost entirely his and a handy scapegoat in Joss Whedon who was already becoming a publicly hated figure, and a huge expensive vanity project further fueling his legacy in Hollywood and galvanizing his fanbase. I detest that this movie existed in the first place, that someone who's idea of 'cool and edgy' is Batman getting raped in prison was chosen by DC to run their biggest films and ended up here with somehow a solid win-loss ratio in spite of everything, and ended up somehow able to crawl out of the wreckage of Justice League with a big second attempt that's practically never been done before... just because. Just, for no reason. Why not? Sure WB.

Please, after all these years, as a new year's gift. When you come back with the podcast in 2024, you have to do "Hate Mail But The 'H8' has an '8' in it" that you receive from these videos by the Snyder cult... 😅
You might want to check out the latest Weekly Planet episode 😉
Aside from how well this version was received, can we all agree that this version is significantly better than the original version that we got?
The fact that this video is shorter than anyone of the Prequel COG videos proves that those movies really are just peak cinema

They foresaw Russell Brand's career trajectory!
I couldn't stop laughing at just the insane amount of times they played that same Wonder Woman theme over and over again everytime she did anything interesting
I hate it so much😭
This movie made me laugh way more times than even the original did.
The Winder Woman chorus, the heavy metal chords playing while they walk up stairs, even Superman's shockwave scream at the beginning. It reminded me of this kinda obscure moment from The Simpsons. The episode where Bart falls for Lovejoy's daughter, and she steals from the church collection plate. Afterwards when he's walking down the street and people are yelling at him while they're driving by, and one guy yells "YOUSTOLEMONEYFROMTHECOLLECTIONPLATE" super fast

(Hopefully this link gets through)
Nobody can name a single BAD J.K. Simmons role.
I mean this would be it. He goes wasted in this movie it's almost insulting.
I’d love to see Cavill play “Kingdom Come” Superman in 20 years.
Will say the score by Thomas Holkenberg (Junkie XL) is pretty great. Maybe bots helped that Flash scene win the Oscar Cheer Moment award, but really his score made that scene pretty darn great
Thank you guys!! Literally the best part of my week. Would love to see you guys take on the planet of the apes movies
I think they already did
Annette of the Plapes!
'Giant, disrespectful wheel of historical sadness...' you described it just fine Mason
There are two things I associate with the Oscars. Flash entering the speed force and Three 6 Mafia winning one before Martin Scorsese, Spike Lee, or Leo DiCaprio.
Most known unknown
Thank you Ben and Laurence and James and Mason for a great year of content. Lots of content that definitely covered news about comic books and tv and movies maybe, or something. Cheers!
I dont know why they don't make comic book sequels based on Snyder's plans. 2000AD did that for Dredd and that worked pretty well! And DC makes comic books, like, all the time!
Not enough Snyder fans read comics for it to be worthwhile
Giving Snyder dorks anything is a bad idea
Thank you Ben and Lawrence for fixing this!
The movie absolutely had no need to be 4 hours long. Even 3 hours long. There just isnt enough story for it, and the movie suffers for it. Zach is a great visual director, but he really just can't distinguish between when to develop a character, and when to hold a slow mo shot for way too long
I’m actually excited for the compilation videos. They’re good bed time listening.
Hello Sunday man
Hello
@@mrsundaymoviesGoodbye Sunday Man
Goodbye Elliot
Thanks Ben and Lawrence for fixing it all in post ❤
3:21 When was Victor hanging out in 1940s Germany?
Why not? Sure WB.
The editors did an amazing job on this video!
Love these videos. Mostly for the same reason I loved the original CoD Black Ops: My name is Mason and hearing someone say it over and over on TV is super engaging.
Enjoy your holidays. I'll be ready for more Caravan of Garbage when you return February. I guess until then I'll find the few videos I've missed.
"The Giant Disrespectful Wheel of Historical Sadness" might be the perfect descriptor for that scene.
It has some moments, but a movie of this quality has no business being 4 hours long
Thanks to all involved at the WP! BRILLIANT as always! All the best chaps
9:06 😂😂😂 man he was really excited about a shittily acted line.
I was more sad when any nameless muscle mommy Amazon died than I was at Superman dying
it shouldn't take 4 hours for your movie to be 'okay'
And two tries
Name suggestion for your evangelical shift: Mr Sunday School Movies
I'd love to see you guys do videos on the Percy Jackson movies, I know February is pretty late to cash in on engagement regarding the new show but I think it would be interesting to see your takes on those godawful things.
I’m very happy that when they start talking about Snyder fans the video cuts to footage of a fat loser sitting at his computer. Feels very accurate.
I stopped drinking and I still have no memory of this long ass movie
That woman had 100K dropped in her bank account, you know the IRS is going to be knocking on her door.
Merry Christmas Nick and James. Merry Christmas EVERYONE!
I dont care how much they argue, if your movie needs a 4 hour cut to make it work then you failed.
