    • @JaneSmith0709
      @JaneSmith0709 Год назад +38

      His weak spot was that he didn't have any reach. If he couldn't get inside with that upper cut it really handicapped him. Evander Holyfield used that to his advantage beautifully. That said, I have a lot more respect for Tyson now than I used to. He finally grew up and matured and he's actually likeable now.

    • @andregant9980
      @andregant9980 Год назад +64

      @@JaneSmith0709 The reach deficit Tyson had versus opponents was a nonissue when Mike was in his prime. Hence the reason my comment opened with the word PRIME... Tyson to create a clear distinction of what I am referencing. Evander was able to have success against Tyson because Mike was past his prime. Prime Mike Tyson wasn't only about power. His training and discipline to execute great footwork, cut off the ring, work behind a jab here and there and use feints were huge elements of his skillset. In his fight vs Evander, Tyson's skillset was not as sharp as it was while he was under Cus.

    • @JaneSmith0709
      @JaneSmith0709 Год назад +9

      @@andregant9980 That's true, but Holyfield wasn't in his prime either. Tyson was still pretty powerful at the time, but you're right, he was just starting to fade. I also think that loss took a big toll on his confidence.

    Mike Tyson is an absolute gem of a human, and I’m so privileged to be alive whilst he walks the planet. I know more than a few people had many mixed opinions of Mike, my own dad never showed affection for him and always looked up at Ali, which I can understand, because my dad is oldschool and set in his ways.
    Now, me and my dad, who’s 70 both sit and watch him speak, I know my dad can’t not like him. He downplays it but I know full well if someone asked him now, he’d speak good of Mike, and he truly deserves it.
    I can’t imagine the frustration of everyone knowing you, but you not knowing everyone, and all of those people having opinions of you, based on the corrupt media. I feel awful that I assumed Mike was a bully or a bad person, this is a man who would stand his ground to defend anyone who he respected, which is anyone who shows him it.
