    Lovely, another Rustinox video. The thread you were trying to think of is a buttress thread. There is a Wikipedia page on them, not a great amount of detail, but the basics.

    Hi Michel, that was a nice job on the slitting saw arbor. One thing I am concerned with is it going to run concentric when you put it back in? My concern is unless you marry it with the spindle in the same place you may not get it running concentrically. You had 4/100 ths of a millimetre run out at first if you put it back into the spindle in the exact opposite place, you could have 8/100 ths runout. I would check it and if it is indeed not concentric just try it in another spot until you get it where it was when you machined it, then if the spindle nose has a distinguishing mark on it, then dot punch the arbor so you can always put it back in the correct orientation. That keyless drill chuck was a very generous viewer gift to you AND it was MT3! Your humour gets me every time Michel, I love your dry wit. Cheers from London, Sam

    • @Rustinox
      @Rustinox  Месяц назад

      The taper is as concentric as the spindle of the mill now.

  • @julias-shed
    @julias-shed Месяц назад +2

    Wonder if you could bore out the spindle of the dividing head? 😀

    • @Rustinox
      @Rustinox  Месяц назад +1

      Maybe, but it's a long spindle. Maybe line boring.

  • @Stefan_Boerjesson

    You got an arbour for saw blades but the dividing head matter remains.... Next video or so?

    *_Right. I subbed his channel. I got a bunch of 4140 and I've been thinking on building my own arbor for the slitting saws as well. The arbor I got was in the tooling that came with my milling machine the arbor is Chinese. So it's garbage until I can repurpose it._*
