Its great to know that the both of you are Using butter when ever possible over oils , and using olive oil on fish and other meats on low heat ,or right before removing from cooking it . Using olive oil on my steamed vegetables ,and salads is better than those chemical ,Salad dressings .Those salad dressings are mostly filled with MSG , and sodium.
MSG isn't as bad as what you've been made to believe. Many foods you eat naturally contain MSG as well and most people don't know it.

Damn Tim oh how I could live that provence life. I'm researching moving back but as a disabled person I have to find a place with infrastructure , hospital and doctor access that takes TRICARE and be close enough to the Manila VA clinic. All I can come up with is living close to Clark. Still researching though waiting for the wife's citizenship and Dual citizenship to go through.

Avocado oil has a higher smoke temperature, olive oil is better to use with uncooked foods or cook at a lower heat.

I just bought center cut boneless pork loin roast on special at Vons in SoCal, $1.99 a pound. It's great to cut into thin or thick chops!

You can fry with Extra Virgin olive oil. Just not at high heat. Mediterranean countries like Italy do it all the time. And please get Chrissy a bigger knife!

A good way to tell if you have a good Olive oil is put it in the freezer if it does not freeze it's a good one

I've been trying to get my Filipina to eat more chicken because she heart disease is a huge issue in the Philippines. She eats a ton of pork and fry's everything. My only critique of the omelet was too much butter. Could have done with 25% of what went in. Just looking out for your ticker Tim.

Tim it looks like that diet is working you look like you lost some weight. Hey when you said it was hard to find green lettuce weren't you pointing at a head of cabbage LOL I never shopped in Burgos I usually go to Massin or Sogod one day I will have to go there and walk around the problem is I am usually in a van or bus so we don't stop unless someone is getting on or off. I drove a motorcycle for many years in the states but I just can't get the nerve to drive one there I bought one but just can't drive it, just to crazy there between the dogs and the van and bus drivers it's the wild wild west of the east.
