This is a super cover, because it's pretty faithful. Although, getting the Otto shuffle (using the right-hand on the snare hits, coming off of the hi-hat and keeping the left-hand shuffle on the snare consistent) is the key to Otto accuracy. It makes such a different, and gives the snare hit more groove, takes away the slight out-of-place urgency playing it a more traditional way gives it. NB: appreciate this sounds like I'm being a dick - I'm not haha. I just really like John Otto and LB drum covers in general, and it's always interesting to see which drummer picks up these things or not.

Man, you nailed it! I saw the cobus song but yours is better by far. He might have better producing but those fills he play make the piece sound overdone. You kept loyal to the song and that's why sound absolutely perfect. Also your energy when playing it's contagious. Keep drumming.

I tend to learn everything by ear unless there's something particularly tricky, in which case I'll write it out so I can see what's happening. This was all done by ear though. I listened to this song so much when I was younger it wasn't long before it was burnt into my memory forever :p. I had a lot more time back then!
