What a great interview. They chose a very beautiful little boy to play the part. I was very moved by this movie as a little boy myself. It was truly fantastic. Still is.Great!
Wow, I was 8 when "Oliver " came out I saw it on the big screen in mexico city before it won best pic. , we fell in love with him then and has always been a part of our lives . Me and Mark were the same age and it sure is nice to see him doing well and happy . God Bless
I always wondered what happened to Mark Lester, having grown up watching Oliver! as a kid in the 80's. From this interview, he seems like a down to earth, decent man. His Oliver is still my favourite on screen Oliver, same as Ron Moody's Fagin and Oliver Reed's Bill Sikes.
That's one of my favorite movies... Bullseye saves the day...Shani Wallis , Ron Moody , Jack Wild , Oliver Reed. .And of course Bullseye the dog . ...Awesome movie !
In 1969 my school play was Oliver , but , i prouted around 11-12 and was 5'-8" by then and my cute kiddie voice dropped down lower than my teachers voice. I was Fagan, but I did memorize all the other song for my cues or to spot errors. During a Sound-system malfunction I did a ad-lib to save it and the crowd made a noise. All I could see is the front row of people near the stage lights, some were doing a knee slap or belly laugh. So much for the Oppressed Orphan, it almost became a comedy.
A nice guy. One of the rare few who made it through child fame unscathed. How extraordinary that he should have been friends with Michael Jackson who had the opposite experience.
The photos backed up what he said, one photo was him with Michael Jackson in an Arabian airport, or shopping Centre if you look at the people around him, they're Arabian. So why do people just quickly call him a liar
The only main character in a film that didn't steal the show. Other actors were far better. Ron Moody , Oliver Reed and Jack wild carried this film all the way. His voice sucked also.

How was this interview awkward in any way? I think he seems like quite a nice man. Down to earth and normal.

He is my osteopath, he lives in my home town Cheltenham.
Aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh so cute
they shouldve started with "consider yourself at home, mark"
"Oliver Reed was terrifing"
Well, thats what I call a great actor! Some one who can pull it off like that

STILL CUTE AS A BUTTON.
He sort of looks like the actor, Patrick Wilson
Seems a very odd man.
He doesn't really seem odd at all...

Mark must be sick of all this.
What an awkward interview.
