I really liked the album Face Dances. If you took the strong songs from Face Dances and It’s Hard and combined them into one album…well I’d argue it would be one of their bests. I haven’t had a Genny in years!
I started to dig The Who in 1981 of course the time of face dances. Yes compared to earlier Classics. This one is from a different era also in difficult times of the band. Yet I listened 1 million times as this was one of my first LPs I bought during my childhood. I agree half of it is brilliant. thanks James for showing how to play. Greetings from Rockpalast town Essen in Germany
Hi James, my comment today has absolutely nothing to do with this song and musicality, but it has everything to do with you, the person. Simply put, your presence has been missed by many of your faithful followers! I hope that you’re doing fun things: a much deserved vacation or you’re on an extended, cross country, guitar buying spree, or you’ve just decided to take a break before Christmas, etc. Whatever it is, my wish is that your absence is merely a hiatus for good reasons, for things that make you happy, and for personal fulfillment. You’ve given/shared so much with us, and as a viewer, I have no tangible method to express my appreciation - money, a T shirt, etc. The only way that I can reciprocate is through words - sincere words, words of appreciation, words of support, friendship, encouragement, etc. Anyways, I just wanted to say hi, and to say a sincere thank you, and to let you know that you are missed by many, not for what you can do for us, but because of what you have done for us! Take care Ted
How the f do you have an ear for the capo and the chords like that… my ear is awful in comparison. Congrats dude glad your healed up. Always love the content 👍🏻🤙🏻
@@jamesjames9275 As I expected. I have a diamond series and it's great. I was originally looking for an '80s black Schecter just like Pete's and was either too expensive or very hard to find. The goldtop Schecter you have is nonexistent out there. I wonder why they don't produce those anymore.
Nice James. I think this is one of the Who's better "late" songs. It seems like Pete may have been pinching off Keith with those power rythm chords a bit.
Those older schecter guitars had some PT magic in them for sure!!
I hope Pete sees this so he knows how much we love his playing on that song.
And this is why PT was musically brilliant … thx JJ
EDIT: And this is why PT IS musically brilliant

I thought I was the only guy on the planet who liked Face Dances. Thanks!
Half of it is brilliant.
"The Quiet One" was one of the highlights while played live during the 1982 concert tour.
I love it too 🙏🏼

@@jamesjames9275Particularly the two Entwistle songs if you love hard rock guitar.
I always loved their bouncy, fun songs like this.
New to you. Really, really enjoyed this cover thank you. You totally nailed it!
One of my favorites by The Who
A great underrated song from them..
indeed Face Dances
Love this song very much.
Got that right hand moving now! Nice shoulder recovery song. Well done James…welcome back!
I always liked this song.
Another tricky day for you... fella.
Nice work!

One of favorite Who songs ever. Thanks for this. How do you do it alone?
Absolutely lovely
So, so helpful. Thank you for this and everything you've done.
Tremendous guitar.
Love that song ! Tough to play without another piano player
I've been looking forward to this one.
Great tune! Glad to see you are on the mend!! Cheers!
Nice job , and sweet guitar!
Ozone Baby? Haha. Kidding. Nice to see you back and healthy. Pretty cool tone you got there too
I saw that Genny sign in another video and I said to myself this guy has to be from WNY. I knew it! Love your lessons.
I lived in Rochester for 20 years. Great town.
You're the fucking man!!! Holy Smokes!!!

Pete loves these chord shapes, so that helps figure out where a capo would be. Having said that, JJ's ear is incredible.

@@georgegeysen6499 thanks!
Thanks sir
The sustain is unreal
Great sustain 👍🏻
I remember that guitar from the 80s. I was born in 68
Same here.
@@jamesjames9275 Same here. 68 all the way!
I wore out my cassette of Face Dances riding around Vermont up to no good. Good choice
Dang right!! recovery song!
Genny beer and the sabres... someone likes W N.Y.!!!..
Love it.
Well done bro. Well done.
You had me at Genee cream ale. Alex, I’ll take Shit Beer of Upstate NY we drank in high school for 800 please
Nice
Love the amp sound on the original. I wonder what PT used for this recording?
Sounds like a Twin or a Dual Showman, some kind of vintage Fender I’d guess. Maybe sweetened at the board, a touch of chorus?
Nice guitar.
well done.
Well done, JJ. I had a Schecter T in gold. Played great, but weighed a ton.
Cool m8
Nice very cool
Nice axe, JJ. Any thoughts on what caused those two dimples near the neck pickup (assuming you bought this Schecter used)?
Someone's wife moving it while vacuuming ...it's always that...
Are those power chords? Shouldn’t you windmilling them? Sounds good.
No windmills, shoulder is still recovering.
@@jamesjames9275 Okay...then why not SPIN the guitar, a la ZZ Top? You know, to save your shoulder...
Sounds good. Go Sabres
this is a fantastic guitar playing what is your opinion of the who
What made you go with another black schecter? Is that one completely different from the diamond series?
Explanation video coming soon…
