Good morning from Ontario. The bushing that someone was talking about is in the top of the gear box that the gathering chain drive shaft comes thru. If it wears out and starts wearing into the gear box, it is gearbox replacement time instead of just a bushing. No wiggle in your top shaft, all good 👍🏻
Yes, I follow a large grain operation that use S700 series also probably same model head you have only bigger. They have a lot of trouble with those bushings. Cost them thousands before they realize what was going on. Now they check for shaft play every year. Just mentioning, not judging. Your head may be different.
My friend borrowed mine and ran it up with a impact the took a sledgehammer and beat the he'll out of it bending the shaft . He brings it back too me and said it worked great . When I said good it's yours right after you buy me a new one he agreed . 2 days after and 400 bucks . He said I probably should have put some heat on It .
Andy from farm fixing fabricating mentions the bushings inside the corn head gearboxes that could be replaced he had to replace a gearbox this was during last years corn harvest
The grease in the PTO shafts get dirty and gummy over time and when the temperature drops it is hard to telescope it to hook it up We only greased the PTO sparingly to try to prevent that

When you powerwash a dirty combine all the crap you wash off it gets on you, I know first hand on that, but powerwashing is the way to get most of the crud off the machine

Keep up the good work love the way you take care of your equipment
Posi-lock pullers are the best on the market. Dang expensive but so worth it after you use one

Another of good progress!
I am amazed by the number of hydraulic hoses on the combine.

It was Andy Hourigan that had those bushings go out on a 693 head. Complete different design than your head
Ah yeah that's not even close to the same
Yes you prob clean combine more than anyone else but it does help and keep critters from attacking it during storage !
Shop work let's goohhhh!

Do you have a water jet nozzle and hose that hooks up to your pressure washer to clean out your floor drain pipes that come to daylight?
There's a settling basin in the drain so the dirt and debris dosent get in the tile.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Sudden innuendo… lol
If the Drain was clean it wouldn’t have a Pond!
Did you size the overhead door for the corn head? Or did it just work out to be an almost exact fit?
The shop has had a 30' door since new.
Forgot the intro!
