I'm happy to hear they found the cause of the vibration in the combine. Have you all decided to trade headers? I know several framers that run MacDon headers and are very happy with them. Thank you for all the videos you make for us.
Nice video. Years ago i cleaned a spongy air filter from a mower with kerosene. Be careful with gas ⛽. It could back up and blue that bucket back. Throw a flare from like 30 feet away. A fire department training video shows when the fumes ignited and turned training into a rescue.
I have never seen a dynaflex with the finger drum in wheat. If you don't trade it I would put the notched big auger in and get rid of the finger drum, I would guess that will fix the problem.
That exhaust protective air box looks a brilliant idea, re the bearings, if you ever replace the bearings yourself source the most expensive / good quality ones you can find, MF 2290 baler gearboxes from yr 14 and 15 have problems with cheap crap bearings failing at around 50,000 bales
I thought all the pipe movers and hand lines had been mostly replaced by pivots years ago. But its been years since Ive been blessed to spend time in SE Idaho
@RockyMountainFarmer I had no idea! I grew up in Rexburg, and moving pipe on the Rexburg bench and driving potato truck was my summers from age 13 to 18. These videos you make sure bring back fond memories! I spent the summer of 1981 installating pivots for Valley Irrigation
They had some issues with the hydraulic pumps on the FD2s in fall of 2023. We replaced 3 at my dealership and it’s a very time intensive job by the time you flush everything
Those are great combines and Agco was stupid discontinuing them. I know we dont know what we're going to trade into when we get rid of ours. It won't be a fendt twin rotor.
If you do manage to trade off for the MacDon, you'll be happy with it... as long as you can make it pencil out is the main thing. I think the MacDon's pair better with Case and New Holland combines, but they are solid headers.
I’m curious how many ATV related injuries you have in a season.. We switched to JD gators and Kubota UTV use because they are slow and stable. It requires our guys to do more walking but after just one serious injury our insurance company stepped in..
Just so you know when you’re measuring the macdon opening it will have an adaptor. So you can just the the throat opening to what ever your combine needs
We have 10 pipe movers that go around and move all the sprinkler pipe. They use these to drive from field to field and we also run 39 pivots that the four of us have to go out and check so that’s why we have so many.
@@RockyMountainFarmer did you look into the cut size of those fliegl side loading loader wagons , you have the trucks to shift the grass . but can they cut small enough for the dairy. i think they called buffel ,
We farm with two MacDonald had a 50-foot and a 45 footer. We run 7500 acres of both double crop beans, beans and wheat and you would have a better luck with a macdon 50-footer then you would with a 40 you would have better better production you'd have quicker turn around time.
Honda is the ONLY way to go. Had a 300 forever, traded on a rancher 350 when they came out. Still running year round, plowing snow all winter, riding all summer.
Why just you waste your money on a fendt our family run massey ferguson for 56 years and in 2019 we switched to caseiH 8250s it has turned out to be the best move we made i personally have a soft spot for our massey combines but my dad and you uncle back in 2019 said that they didn't think that the fendt would holdup they both been running combines since they were kids i would say there pretty smart so today we run internationals we just traded our 8250s for new 8260s.
I could but it has a five-year warranty, so they’re fixing everything for free. Also, we don’t know how to take everything apart and fix it the correct way. So I’d rather let the professional mechanics do it. This thing is pretty complicated and I wouldn’t wanna mess something up.
you must be doing something right with 4 wheeler care to get that much life out of them on the combine dumb question dose fendit have a brand greese like IH and say you should use it over other brands
Did somebody drop you on your head as a child i bet someone will have a problem with you throwing gas and oil on the ground and 100000 miles on a atv i find that hard to believe
It’s OK I burnt the oil and gas just like everybody does to heat their houses so it didn’t soak into the ground or anything also a 25-year-old four wheeler that gets 5000 miles a year is actually over 100,000 miles
Merry Christmas Rocky Mountain Farms. Enjoyed watching your videos this year. You reminded me of one of my favorite Christmas songs when you all were in the shop servicing the 4x4’s . ruclips.net/video/RJ2rzHqGeaI/видео.htmlsi=V4HpEuCrfsWXwR5v
Those Bearings don’t look too bad. Did that AGCO Tech *cough* mechanic Even turn them Rotors by hand to see if there bent even slightly from a ROCK running thru a Rotor ?? Doesn’t take much of a Rock to bent a Rotor. Then you’ll get a Vibration/ Shake that about you’ll feel damn good in the cab. By the Looks of all that Up in there in Front of the Rotors I bet there’s been many Rocks through there ! 😬 That Rotor Infeed looks like a Bad Design. Nothing beats Honda when it comes to reliable, small engines. They just keep on going, no matter how hot or cold it is 💪
Yes they do
Thanks for taking us along on the video. Hope the bearings solve the vibration issues on your Combine.
We hope so too. Thanks for watching.

Yeah, our exhaust doesn’t have that it would be nice. since the combine is under warranty they do all the work
I thought all the pipe movers and hand lines had been mostly replaced by pivots years ago. But its been years since Ive been blessed to spend time in SE Idaho
No there are a lot. There are some places that are going back to wheel lines. Because it’s better at flushing salts out of the soil.

Should come see your Christmas Tractor Saturday night after we go to "White Christmas" at Center Stage in IF. Merry Christmas to you all!
That sounds good. Merry Christmas.
They had some issues with the hydraulic pumps on the FD2s in fall of 2023. We replaced 3 at my dealership and it’s a very time intensive job by the time you flush everything

Hope the bearings fixes it. We have a Massey 9695 and we really like the machine

Begs the question.. is the grease the correct type for that application?
I would imagine that’s a fairly high stress bearing.
We use what it calls for.
I’m curious how many ATV related injuries you have in a season.. We switched to JD gators and Kubota UTV use because they are slow and stable. It requires our guys to do more walking but after just one serious injury our insurance company stepped in..
We have not had an incident yet.
Great video thanks
We are glad you enjoyed it.
Can you explain what pipe movers do?
They move all of the sprinkler pipe that waters the fields
Irrigation pipes
@@RockyMountainFarmer oh ok dang yall must have a bunch of help on your farm.
Just so you know when you’re measuring the macdon opening it will have an adaptor. So you can just the the throat opening to what ever your combine needs
Good to know it definitely looks like it would work better
What batteries do you use on your ATV? I can't find a battery that will last very long.
We just get them from O’Reillys.
Just found your channel.. why so many 4 wheelers?
We have 10 pipe movers that go around and move all the sprinkler pipe. They use these to drive from field to field and we also run 39 pivots that the four of us have to go out and check so that’s why we have so many.
loved the river
I’m glad I almost didn’t put that in there
@@RockyMountainFarmer it is the land scape that i like i live in new zealand and your land scape is so different to what i am used to
I would love to visit New Zealand someday
Looks like a Honda dealer with so many 4 wheelers.
I guess you use them to check on fields and irrigation systems?
They use them to get around the field when moving sprinkler pipe.
@RockyMountainFarmer Gotcha, thanks.
Ever thought of taking a pressure washer to your machines?
seen plenty of water pushed in to bearing with presure washers
We do when they get really dirty, but the pipe movers usually take care of their own machines we just service them
Maybe it’s better that they’re dirty. They seem to get a lot of miles on them.
We own a 9 here in Australia how many rotor hours for the bearings on the front of the rotors
I know it doesn’t have too many threshing hours. I guess they haven’t really seen this problem.
❤ from Norway
Thanks for watching
Would you not be better off with one used self propelled harvester like a Class Jaguar instead of those choppers?
I’m not sure I’ve heard they are very problematic as well.
@@RockyMountainFarmer did you look into the cut size of those fliegl side loading loader wagons , you have the trucks to shift the grass .

U should get sponsored by Honda for having all them bikes 🇳🇿
That would be awesome
That would be great
Honda have always had a reputation for reliability.

Makes for a good time
Honda is the ONLY way to go. Had a 300 forever, traded on a rancher 350 when they came out. Still running year round, plowing snow all winter, riding all summer.
They are amazing machines they seem to run forever with little maintenance
Why don’t get a spray bottle and spray the oil on them.
It’s super thick or else that would work great
Yes Honda is the best or Yamaha good too. That would cost you a fortune to have dealers do all that maintenance.
Yeah it’s best we do it ourselves.
7k on a quad? Thats wild
And that’s just one year
The old metal tank you can see in the video probably has close to 100,000 miles on it
I bet they would like to be washed as well.
They cleaned from time to time but if we washed them now, then it would freeze on there because it’s below freezing outside
Tell Anthony he better fix it right !!!!
I’m sure he’ll do a good job
Its always cool dumping oil in the ground 🥴
Especially when you light it on fire.

It’s definitely hard.
Sorry but there will be problems every 30-50 hours with those ideal combines! Just not a well built combines.
We didn’t have too many problems and we put 130 hours on it
@ that’s good to hear, 130 hours of vibrations start looking for cracks. They are prone to crack where the bearing bracing is.
The vibration didn’t start until maybe the last 50 hours or so.
