I have a 5700x3d and 12gb 4070 super. Running at a nearly consistent 90 fps on high/ or ultra resolution on open composite and virtural desktop. SSW enabled ,hevc 10bit. Quest 3 w/ dedicated wifi 6 router. Also using process lasso to set virtual desktop and skyrimvr processes to always be high priority. It looks pretty damn good. VRAMR or cathedral assets optimizer (or combination of both) are a must to play on any decently high settings without getting vram related crashes on a 12gb card in my experience. VRAMR will bring vram usage down about 1gb using the quality preset, which you pretty much won't notice graphics wise. However I've used a combination of VRAMR quality preset AND CAO on my game and you can get the vram usage down to an insanely low 7 or 8 gb while maintaining most of the beauty of the modpack and greatly improving performance and load times. That requires using vramr to work its magic on the base game textures and cathedral assets optimizer to bring all of the mod textures down to 1024x1024. ( I don't suggest using CAO to unpack base game textures and optimize them). Using CAO to compress everything to 2048x2048 textures does look noticeably better than 1024x1024 but you'll still hover 10 gb of vram after that and get a good bit less performance and slower load times. I imagine you could just try a lower quality setting on vramr and get similar results but I have not tried that yet as I like the additional optimization and fixes that CAO provides. TLDR- make a backup of your entire installed modpack/base game and experiment with vramr and cathedral assets optimizer for insane performance boosts.

Dear VR Dad! Would you be so kind to help me? I tried to ask my question on every forum, but nobody cared. In short, I would like to use Reshade. I have fresh install of SkyrimVR and also of MGO 3.5. I install Reshade as administrator, I select skyrimvr.exe, instalation done. Now if I check glamour reshade in mod organizer the launch window pops up for a brief second, but then it stops and the game won't launch. If I uncheck glamour reshade the game launches, but no sign of ReShade running in the game window. Interestingly, if I try to install Reshade again on skyrimvr.exe, the installer lets me to do it (when Reshade is installed properly, it would not let me install again, only repair or remove, but not in this case). It seems as if Reshade can not be installed or used properly, however, when the skyrimvr launcher starts up from mod organizer for a brief second and rootbuilder activates I see the Reshade files are there in my skyrimvr.exe folder. I used Reshade (also glamour) with MGO 3.0 and I did not have any issues. Please tell me what I do wrong, I would so much like to make it work, I spent a whole day with this and still no result. Thanks in advance!
@@VRDaD Thanks for your response! Please help me to understand. Are you sure about this? Because in MGO 3.0 I was using Reshade and CS simultaneously with no problem at all. Did you maybe try: in Mod Organizer if you turn glamour reshade on, in this case does glamour reshade only work for you if you use ENB instead of CS? Just because like I said, if I turn on glamour, the game will not launch in 3.5 and I only tried default settings yet, which is CS.

I see people mentioning various tweeks and virtual desktop (maybe im stupid but i still dont know what this is - an ACTUAL virtual desktop or a program for vr?) and all this. I tried doing research for a few hours and became overwhelmed with all the information. Everybody seems to run fine on 4070ti's or 4070 supers, but unfortunately, i am running a base 4070. Are there any definitive guides per card, or is it just tweaking things until its playable? Also, is more than one ssd required, or can you create the folder on the root drive outside the programs folder?
I'm on a 4070 as well and the performance was just too rough. I just about decided to dismiss Skyrim VR completely and then I decided to try the FUS wabbajack and having actual 90fps makes it so I am actually enjoying it. I'm finally getting the "WOW I'm in virtual Skyrim" that everyone describes.
@@CadilakCoupe virtual desktop is a software thr you install on the quest, to connect the headset to your pc (you need also a streamer app on your pc). People connect it through (normally) a wifi6 or 6E router which is dedicated to the headset. The space required is around 400GB…
@VRDaD This is the part that confuses me. Is Rift Link not sufficient as this was my original method of getting it to work. Used Rift Link, switched to desktop display, and launched via a Wabba shortcut I placed on my desktop.
@michaelb2305 Does FUS sacrifice the beauty for the performance? Does it have the AI component that allows communication with the NPC's, and would you recommend it?
@ I recommend FUS for a more vanilla experience. Is no way close graphically to MGO. I don’t think it has AI as well. But it is very stable, performs well on lower end systems and has all the QoL improvements that are needed for an excellent Skyrim VR experience.
If you download the new modlist file and direct wabbajack to your original 3.0 downloads folder when installing 3.5 it should grab what it needs from there and download everything else it needs to install the new modpack.
There is one HUGE problem with these mind-blowing mods: They are made for the absolute enthusiast who doesn't settle for less than the absolute best. But here lies the problem. Being this type of enthusiast doesn't allow for enjoying something (no matter how good it is) knowing there is something better out there. Looking at the maddening frequency with which this god-tier mod here gets updated, I simply don't dare to start a run since I know the mod will be updated within a few weeks which means I will no longer be able to enjoy my walkthrough (knowing I am no longer playing the best version). @@Szabby999 strange. I didn’t have that problem at all. It might be a nexus issue.
@@VRDaD I tried "verify files" and now I can open mod organiser., but at the top I see "1507 mods active". Is it right? As far as I remember at 3.0 there were about 1900 mods active at the start after clean install.

Very cool! I have a doubth. Is it using both, ENB and Community Shaders at the same time? Or you switch from one to the other depending on which effects you prefer? Because, to my knowledge, it was not possible to have them both working at the same time (though you can have them installed).
And other question... Do you have parallax on terrain? (all of it, not just roads). I have tried many ways (not with community shaders), but has been not possible.

Cheers for the video. Just been trying 3.5 tonight for the first time. With default settings it is way better than the best I could get with 3.0. Still have very flat trees in the distance which seem to look way worse than yours. Any idea what might cause that?

Oh i see. I'm not on discord, so will wait then. It will be my time for a fresh windows install😊 Everything allways works a bit smoother after reinstall. TBH, i'm affraid that something from earlyer Skyrim instalation can stay in the registry. Thanx for info😉
@ it shouldn’t matter if it was Skyrim vanilla. Nevertheless, remember to launch Skyrim vanilla at least once after a fresh install, otherwise wabbajack won’t find some necessary .ini files that it needs.
Hey VR Dad 😊 excited 2 try this new update. I love your content! Ive followed your guides to get MadGods overhaul and i love it. Its also my 1st time playing skyrim lol. How do i update to 3.5? Do i need to reinstall everything?
@@Flowlogic99 hey, thanks for sticking with me :) so to update, just download the new modlist. Then you launch wabbajack and you select it.
@@Szabby999 are you using CS? Because if you use CS then Reshade will not work! It works only with ENB
@ my understanding is that reshade doesn’t work with CS. Please confirm in the discord. I am not an expert and I don’t use reshade
@@VRDaD Well, as soon as I get home I will try ENB if it works. with ReShade. Can I ask, in your opinion is the graphics quality significantly better with CS compared to ENB?
@@Szabby999 I like more CS tbh. There are too many good things compared to ENB. That's why you don't actually need Reshade. Just use CS with NAT3 or Azurite weather and it's incredibly good. I prefer NAT3 over Azurite, but it's a personal preference.

I literally bought a quest 3 a few weeks ago after stumbling upon your video for the 3.0 release. I installed everything and got it up and running, but as soon as I left the cave, my performance took an insane hit.
