Except it's not. $17,000 is $17,000, just because someone has more money than someone that makes XXXX, it doesn't mean they treat let's say $30 as $1 dollar. Having more money just means your more financial secure and can afford a more expensive lifestyle if you choose to.
Like if a billionaire just so happen to drop $20,000, they aren't gonna not care about picking it up, it's $20,000.

@Sulfuric-Acid Have you no heard of a poor persons mindset?
Edit: Most of the human population consist of stupid people that think this way. The likes on his comment shows many people support that way of thinking. That somehow 1$=$1000, $10,000, and that they hold the same value proportionally when currency has a set value that fluctuates. Also the reason over half of Americans can't handle a unexpected $400, $500 financial hit. It's sad.

For people who don't understand how code violations work (progressively) in Tennis:
    1. Warning (Serena got for coaching - coach accepted)
    2. Point penalty (Serena got for Racket abuse )
    3. Game penalty (Serena got for Violent outburst)
    4. Forfeit the match

The Chair Ref and Williams Both made a mistake? Nope... Williams alone made the mistake of being unable to control her anger. There are rules in Tennis. Every person agrees to them before they can play at the professional level. There are rules against coaching. Her coach was caught coaching. He had to admit to it, he knew it was on video for all to see. Cheating, even if others cheat and don't get caught... is not acceptable. We don't know if Williams was being coached or not that time, but it's obvious that coaching in professional games is standard procedure for them. If cheating/coaching were ok to do in the professional gave, the rule against coaching would not be in the rule book. "Others cheat and get away with it, I should get away with it, too" , is not an excuse for her behavior, or, the cheating happening in this professional game. Both Serena and her Coach knew the rule. The coach got caught. We're hearing now that the rules need to be changed, that emotions aren't allowed in the game... that's silly. Outbursts are not acceptable, uncontrollable anger, threats and bullying, violence is not acceptable. You are free to have what ever emotion you like, just don't act in an uncivilized manner or you'll get fined! That's the way it is.
It's more likely that Williams was having a negative Post Partum reaction that it is that she was standing up for women's rights. This claim came so easily and quickly... illogically and out of touch with reality... it tells us how often foolishly use..racism, women's rights, etc...as an excuse for bad behavior. It's way over used!! Our whole society is sick and tired of it all.
The fact that the coach feels cheating is ok tells us how often he and Serena have cheated in the past. Cheating is not a part of the game, though there will always be people who try to get away with cheating in everything... it didn't work this time. They both acted like it should be ok... and this also shows us how much they broke the rule in the past. Even if Serena didn't look at her coach that particular time... it's still cheating and this cheating is done in partnership between player and coach. It's so normal to them that both feel there is nothing wrong with it. It's obviously happened in the past, they just didn't get caught in the past. Bullying, Threats, extreme and violent drama.... not acceptable. She should have been thrown out of the game. Why wasn't she??? We all know.
Serena, bullied, threatened, insulted, was drama filled to the extreme, broke rackets, continued escalating her drama... this was more like a World Wide Wrestling exhibit than the refined and sophisticated sport of Tennis. Children saw this...Refined behavior is a part of the decorum of Tennis..... ugly behaviors were not acceptable in the past, they are not acceptable now. Seeing this made me so angry... it was all so shameful... it doesn't belong in the game of Tennis. If it were a normal part of the game...Tennis would not have as many fans. That ugly behavior doesn't belong at the professional level of Tennis, nobody wants to see that uncivilized, nasty behavior.

I definitely think Serena owes Carlos Ramos an apology. He has a clear and documented history of being very strict with the rules when it comes to both male AND female tennis players. He has handed out multiple warnings to players like Kyrgios, Nadal, Djokovic, and Murray. The rules might very well be wrong and maybe they need to be changed. But it is what is and Ramos applied each warning to Serena according to text just like he has for male tennis players. As one former champ sees it: “No sexist issue there,” said Chris Evert, the former world No. 1, on Sunday. “His history with men players shows that.”
For Serena to stoop so low as to falsely accuse Ramos of sexism is so disappointing. I've been a fan of hers for so many years and I've stuck by her thick and thin. But what happened on Saturday has really made me question both her integrity and honesty. I've lost a ton of respect for her.

Yash Salvi. Men who have broken the rules have received several code violations from this particular umpire. As I said, he has a clear and documented record of doing so. It's his right to treat Serena exactly the way he would treat players like Nadal, Djokovic, Murray, and others. Under his watch, it would be greatly unfair to grant her special consideration, special rights, and special privileges just because she's a woman.

The WTA tour said it does not typically publish its sanctions against players.
That was their statement earlier this year when #5 Ranking Karolina Pliskova, was mad at an umpire and smashed and broke the umpires chair with her racquet.
Why are they making Serena's public? Get more attention I guess.

The argument should have ended with her telling the umpire "I don't cheat to win I'd rather lose". You said what you had to say now focus back on the match. But she was losing and that's what made her even angrier. Shame on her for not letting Osaka have her moment. The umpire did the right thing. More umpires need to stick to the rules and stop letting the top players get away with obvious code violations.

Things could have been handled better from all parts. The key now is this. What did we learn from this and what can we do to make a better FINALS match without yesterdays issues? Or should we have this happen again because noone learned the first time. These are two great tennis players and I hope to see them again in a Grand Slam and I hope changes take place to better the game rather than have everyone in tears. It doesn't have to be this way. We can learn from this and rules can be changed to improve the game.
