And if you say "just turn the brightness down and dont complain", you shouldnt have to turn it down to look more right/darker for the scene, it should be way darker normally like how the Classic version is if Classic even has brightness settings

The scene with Brad should've been darker. Frank is using a flashlight when I can see everything clearly. Having it be pitch black and finding Brad bleeding out would be 10x worse
That's because the guy has brightness on high, you can either make the game dark like the orginal or as bright as the sun

In the remaster Jessie not only somehow killed both soldiers but also somehow locked herself in the control panel room.

The original is far more disturbing. Like you said, his eyes should have been grey considering hes turning into a zombie. Also the remake fails to show his guts spilling over in that side shot.

RE2 Remake is fine but it is still flawed game such as the questionable bizzare scenario Annette’s death and few others (I’m not going to explain it because it’s gonna be longer) which it didn’t have in the Original other than that it’s fine
Other so called Remakes are just indeed nothing but slapsticks to their original counterpart, the only Remakes that are certified to me is 2001’s Resident Evil 1 Remake (awesome game definitely one of my favorite in the series and it expanded the lore of Spencer Mansion and the Trevor Family) another would Shadow of the Colossus Remake (this is another example of a perfect Remake without changing anything except the graphics alone)
The gore/blood is toned down in the remaster to meet Chinese censorship requirements. The reason erotica is removed, the outfit that has a pic of a topless woman on the shirt, the reason cultists no longer pray, Cliff's anti communist lines being changed, Larry no longer being a Chinese stereotype, the words Genocide and Pimp being removed from the achievements/trophies. And a few female survivors are dressed more modestly.
Call that a quadruple whammy!
As a teenager i had a crush on Jessie, she was and still is really pretty hot and sexy, and in the original you can take sexy pictures or erotic pictures, i felt so sad watching her turning into a zombie and this being the canon story of dead rising, and later with dead rising 2 with the Rebecca as well, peak characters design, covers a lot but at the same time are really sexy

With all the crap they changed in the remaster you'd think they would at least changed how the hell did Zombie Jessie managed to take down two highly trained soldiers especially with one of them literally catching her eating his comrade.
Well, the first Soldier gets a pass since his guard was down, and he was pretty much in her space - allowing Zombie Jessie to pounce on him easily.
As for the second Soldier... He was most likely a Rookie that was in the wrong Profession - thus panicked and let himself get killed like an idiot. 😆
@@darkdremora4436 Or it's just a case where panic caused in the situation, also... unless the two soldiers did something with the survivors in the other rooms, you can probably assume Jessie infected them before they turned up and in traditional zombie media trope, jumped the other soldier when his back was turned.
@cursedhawkins1305 Well, technically, *none* of the Survivors are Canon as they can *all* die... So it's really just Jessie in the Safe Area (Otis already left) at that time. Or, if you *want* to count the Survivors you've Escorted, the Soldiers killed them as was their Mission... They only agreed to spare Jessie (if she agreed to keep silent) due to her being a Government Agent... So it's not that Jessie Infected the Survivors and they then killed the 2nd Soldier - especially since it's *heavily* implied it was Jessie that killed him. 🙂
So it was most likely the 2nd Soldier panicked, but if that's the case, he was indeed a Rookie (for a Soldier) since he would've had *plenty* of time to shoot/kill Zombie Jessie before she got to him. 😆

I know people have had issues with the voice acting and gore censoring stuff but beyond that, I enjoyed the remaster. I wonder how much is the nostalgia talking and how much is actual gripes.
Considering some of the complaints are over the absolute *dumbest* things (like whining over removing Frank's "What in the world?" line 🙄) I'd say it's a mixture of Rosetinted Nostalgia Glasses, and because people like whining over anything. 😆
*None* of the (very miniscule) changes affected the Remaster's quality compared to the Original in my opinion... The *only* criticism I can kinda agree on is Frank looking older, but even then, it's a "Well that stinks. Oh well," *shrugs* kinda thing. 😆

I love both games, i just beat DRDR and had a great time. And just before i played it I beat the original for probably the 15th time. I think both games are equally enjoyable. I just wish DRDR had an explanation or at least showed what happened to all the fucking survivors i saved. I do all this shit for them (fetch quests, mutiny aversions, etc...) that i think i am at least owed a concrete explanation for what happened to them. Add a cutscene that shows them being arrested, or just any sort of explanation besides Otis' note which doesnt answer any questions i have.
for people who just turned they put way to much gore on Jessie and Barnaby like why is he all of a sudden mummified with blood on his caller but more importantly where did the blood on Jessie's ASS come from? in the original they both are the cleanest zombies in the main game with the little blood on them making sense thematically like Zombie Barnaby having a bloodied nose from being kicked in the face a moment ago but here random blood comes with being a zombie I guess
Remaster Zombie Jessie most likely rolled onto the pool of blood from the Soldier a bit after initially pouncing and biting him before full on nomming on him while he was downed - thus the blood on her backside.
And Remaster Zombie Barnaby's collar getting bloodied after being kicked in the face makes sense - the blood from his nose would've most likey got on his collar... It's also implied he possibly coughed a bit of blood at the end.
For the ppl that’s saying why the og is more detailed than DRDR(which it should not be) it’s because the game JUST came out.
They darkened Jessica's eyes but it's cool and they darkened the Barnaby zombie, that's bad... the old classic game is very playable and cool.
2 dead soldiers from Jessie made me upset that it was just... 2 of them side by side and no blood splatter.

@@MICHAELTUMANGDAYJessie most likely got a scratch in Zombie lore you can get turned even by a scratch since remember a Zombie is a virus so small injuries can still turn you. As for Frank I think it was the wasp he smacked that turned him since in game you get bitten a lot but in lore wise I think him getting sting by the wasp is what turned him but it did it very slowly since he was immune for it for awhile.
3 options 1 she was bitten by barnaby but if so Isabella woulda say something so that itself is probably not true. 2 would be stung by an infected wasp or 3 airborne infection.
@@davidmarrero9608The problem with the scratch theory is that the zombies are caused by a parasite. A wasp in this case. Like some species of wasp, Queens lay their eggs in a host, which in turn mature and hatch. Bit difficult to transfer eggs in a scratch wound.
The only thing I can think of is that she received a shallow bite during the scuffle in the storage room and Isabela didn’t consider it a threat because it was shallow. Either that or Jessie stepped onto the helipad for some air, copped a sting, didn’t think much of it and then turned

It's been so long since I played the original but I never understood why Jessie turned as she wasn't bitten.
It's implied Barnaby, since he was halfway turned into a Zombie, Infected Jessie through saliva or scratching when he attcked her.

The blood physics in the remake are absolutely terrible, and the overall look of the blood is just awful!

I hate New/Remastered game lighting, How does Remastered Frank not see the Tear in Brads stomach, even without the flashlight he could still see decently but he doesnt some reason, wasnt even that dark.
Ugh but yeah some reason the devs dont make the games darker which makes either cutscenes or gameplay inconsistent or pointless to do, Halo CE remastered Graphics has that problem too.

Omg, the censorship, they didn't just do line and race changes, they removed erotica and reduced the gore now. Even the blood spatter looks better in the OG, honestly at this point just play the original for the full experience cause whole the remaster looks good you won't get everything that the og offered.

My thoughts on why Brad's death is better in the original. Reposted from another video.
First the voice acting ruins this scene. It's so bad, it sounds so stilted, even the parts where he's telling Frank to stay away, in the original he sounds so adamant for Frank to stay away, like he ashamed to be seen in the state he's in. Frank too, it's like there's no emotion at all, no conviction in his words. I get they want Brad to sound weak and helpless in the first part but the whole point is him trying to be strong until he resolutely accepts he's gonna die once the scene progresses. He's trying to be strong and is seen as strong all game, and in spite of that we see him break down after the fact. It really add's weight to his death him trying to be strong knowing he's gonna die.
Especially in the 'it doesn't hurt, not even a little'. In the original you hear that slight lilt of weakness in his voice. It really is an example of how the voice acting sells the scene and says a lot to the audience without actually saying it directly.
The other part that ruins it is at 5:05 and I chalk this up to two things. One the lighting and two the angle. The lighting in the original emphasises Brad's upturned brow, which is the main way people express being sad or distraught and here's it's cut off frame and less emphasized because the scene is too brightly lit. The second is his expression which is actually far worse here, in the original you can see his eyes squinting, the tension in his face, he looks up at Franks blinks around two times before resolutely shaking his head and his brow contorts further up, his face muscles drops alongside he mouth opening, it's a very fluid quick set of small expressions that convey perfectly Brad is processing the fact he's gonna die and coming to terms with it. It's subtle but definitely there. Not if intention but the glazed over whiteish eyes indicating he's becoming a zombie in the original also looks far better.
Here? His eyes stay the same, not even a blink and his face doesn't drop, his face barely changes and mouth barely opens. It's very stiff, the original had a fluid motion of all that happening that conveyed perfectly and juxtaposes very well with Brad's voice acting before as someone who is desperately trying to remain strong before he realizes he can't and has to come to terms with the reality.
As someone else said, the lighting ruins the reveal as well. In the original we the viewer don't see Brad until Frank see's his guts so it works as a dramatic reveal for both Frank and us. Frank emoting more in the scene was a nice though if I can give any positives.

I'm sorry, but besides some more detail.. the remaster looks awful. That first scene with the flashlight is waaay too bright and the blood effects look terrible. You don't even have bloody footsteps when you walk over blood in the new version.
Original is the way to go.
More than the remake, Is More of a Capcom thing for some of their recent Games
Monster Hunter World suffers from this same thing with the caves being too bright, something that happened in Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate compared with the original release; Monster Hunter Tri
Caves were very dark, making the use of a Torch Make Sense, but fotbthe Re-release, caves became too bright making torches useless, same for World, which it's beta footage also showed extremely dark caves that ended up being too bright in the final release
One can only hope that the people in Moddb or Nexus mods are going to save this game or rather "fix" it
I'm a fan of the original game but this looks terrible . Grafic is worse than the original and gameplay is less funny than the original. This is garbage that no one needs.
