Hey, this video really came in handy and you explained everything really well. I bought this computer refurbished and found that I needed to transfer some parts to a new case because my graphics card would not fit. The cable on the bottom right with the safety pins had me stumped, but now I'm going to go at it with the small flat head and most likely yield results. Liked and subscribed.
I'm having trouble removing the front panel data cable on a 7010 MT. How hard did you have to push down on the secure locks? It is a very tight squeeze.
i have same MT optiplex 9010 i am planning to upgrade to nvidia rtx 2060 powersupply is 750 watts already previously installed r9 270 and 16 gb ram installed . will rtx 2060 work fine i dont understand dells user manual and 2060 requires pcie 3.0 is this optiplex 9010 has pcie 3.0 any guidence?
@@mxkdt thanks for the speedy reply, it was actually the power switch that I wanted to replace with a standard one. I think that a standard power switch may be too large without modification, then it may protrude too far to snap the front fascia back on. Probably looking at modifying the existing cable to splice in 3rd party headers. I have an AMD B550 board installed, and use a screwdriver to short the headers right now.
@@mxkdt I kept the stock power switch. At first I tried to run low voltage T connectors off of the power and ground, but they didn’t work. So I ended up running Arduino extension cable from each pin out to the motherboard headers, which did the trick. Now I have a Ryzenplex.
Hey there. On this particular computer, what are the dimensions of the power supply? I want to upgrade the psu on my Optiplex 9010 MT but I am afraid a new psu wont fit. Thanks in advance.
Hey man i dont know if you still have this problem but i have the optiplex 9010 mt and i use the corsair 600w silver psu. It works perfectly and if you dont want that one you can look up the dimensions of that psu.
OutBlazed Awesome man. Well I was asking because i had in mind buying a new graphics card. I settled for a gt 1030 ~30W so no worries about overloading the 250W PSU. I know its not a performance card or anything like that, but it covers my needs for now. Thanks for leaving a reply. Ohh and yeah, I look up the dimensions for the PSU you just mentioned.
OutBlazed Ohh I see why you worried. 75W graphics card, definitely want more than a 250W PSU. Curiously enough, I bought my 9010MT with an AMD card installed, can't remember which card, but it drew almost 75W. Anyways, I did some slight gaming on that card, nothing serious, but it never gave me any problems. I even chatted with some guys that said that a 1050 ti would be good for a 250W PSU. So yeah, I guess 250 W is enough for 75W card, but just to be on the safe side it would be best to get a more powerful PSU. Nonetheless, I am happy with my 1030. Thanks a lot bud. Have a great one you too.
Dell Optiplex 9010 MT Intel Core i7-3770 3.40GHz, 16GB RAM, 2X 500GB HDD, WINDOWS 7 Pro. EVGA GeForce GTX 1050 SC GAMING, 3GB GDDR5. Any thoughts on how this will run ? Im thinking of building it on parts i can get for around 275.00
Best video ever, i was searching for a video like this almost an hour

Hi, try to get gtx 1050 ti and upgrade boot drive to solid state drive at least 250gb for gaming, you have to upgrade power supply.
@@mxkdt Ok I've ordered a EVGA ATX 600w PSU, and a solid state drive unfortunately I've already purchased the GPU.
