I'm so glad I didn't throw out the old curtains and cut the T-shirts into strips. 3 ideas at once!

1) The hand didn’t raise itself to throw away the remains of the beautiful fabric from the curtains. I made a chic product out of them for myself and my home.
Everyone knows that wooden or hard seats are not very comfortable. And soft quilted pillows will make your stay more comfortable.
This is exactly what I want to bring to your attention.
This pillow will have clear contours and straight lines. Before sewing, you need to measure the size of the seat, that is, its width and length. The fabric should be strong, moderately tough and wear-resistant. I took the remains from the curtains.
Sewing the pillow:
- Fold the fabric in half and cut out a square measuring 55x55 cm.
- I stitched on all sides, leaving room for turning.
- I turned the corners into triangles and marked a 10 cm line. I stitched and cut off the excess fabric.
- I also turned out the cover.
- Ironed all sides from the 10 cm line.
- I marked 1.5 cm on the folds and drew lines, not reaching the edge by the same 1.5 cm.
- I sewed two lines on each side.
- Then I made vertical stitches in the corners. The resulting seat height is 7 cm.
- On each side of the cover I marked the points where the buttons will be sewn.
- The filling for such a pillow can be made of padding polyester, holofiber, or fabric scraps. I made mine from foam rubber. Thanks to it, the seat will be elastic and immediately return to its original position.
- Placed the foam rubber in the case and sewed up the hole with a hidden seam.
- I prepared 10 buttons and covered them with fabric.
How to quilt a pillow:
To do this you will need a gypsy needle and strong thread in two layers.
- She inserted the needle from one side and pulled it through the pillow to the other side.
- I attached the button and, retreating 5-7 mm, inserted the needle into the fabric and pulled it to the first side, also retreating a little. I tightened the thread a little.
- I attached the second button and pulled it off again, tying a strong knot.
All is ready!
The result is a soft, comfortable product that will decorate any place.
2) My neck and back no longer bother me. I'll show you a bone pillow that I sewed to relax muscles.
To sew it, you need cotton fabric and filling - padding polyester or holofiber. You can use knitwear, fleece, flannel.
First we'll make a pattern.
- Draw a 10x18 cm rectangle, as in the diagram. Place the disk and connect the points 1, 10, 1 cm on the right side. And 1.4 cm on the left side. The result is a smooth line, like a bone.
- Cut out two such parts and glue them with tape in the middle. This is half of the pattern.
- Cut out 3 “bone” pieces on the fabric.
How to sew?
- First you need to take two parts. Connect them with the right sides facing inward and sew only half of the “bone”, from the middle of the notch to the middle.
- Now we take the third part and attach it to the two stitched parts. We sew the same half.
- As a result, we sequentially sew the halves together. It turns out to be the shape of a bone. Leave room on one side to turn it inside out.
- Fill the pillow with filling so that there are no voids. I took the padding polyester and tore it into pieces. The bone should be elastic, but soft. The degree of filling is selected individually.
- All that remains is to sew up the hole.
The bone pillow is ready.
3) I cut the T-shirts into strips and made a “home-woven” fabric out of them. The secret of success is in the “weaving” device.
Decorative pillows always make your home feel more cozy and homey. To create a pillowcase you need any items that are not worn. If you try a little, you will have a new decor that will be no worse than the store-bought one.
I suggest making your own canvas for the pillow, which will definitely be a bright accent in the interior.
For this you will need T-shirts or other knitted items.
- First you need to make a device for “weaving”. To do this, I cut out cardboard 45x45 cm, this size depends on the size of the pillow.
- On two opposite sides I made marks every 1 cm, and along these marks I made 0.5 cm cuts with small scissors.
- Now you need yarn, made a knot and secured it to the first slot.
- Then the thread led from one side to the other.
- The result was such a foundation, something like strings.
- I cut the T-shirts into strips 5 cm wide, stretched them a little so that they curled.
- I threaded the strips with a pin through one stretched thread. At the same time, I straightened the strips so that they lay nicely.
- She continued like this until the end, inserting knitted strips in a checkerboard pattern. You can even make a pattern of stripes, distributing them by color.
- When I had woven everything, I sewed the strips along the edges to each other.
- I removed the canvas from the cardboard and stitched it on 4 sides.
- I sewed the pillowcase in the usual way.
- Pillows for the sofa are a great solution to liven up a boring interior.
At the same time, making them is not as difficult as it might seem at first glance.
