This was SO on time for a quilt I'm doing. Last row, last design almost done and hit a button to make it stop quilting by accident. I'm going to fix.it now. SO HELPFUL!!!
I love my Peace Out ruler! I recently convinced several students to purchase one on the information that it was going to be discontinued. But it was just renamed, which is awesome because it’s a fabulous little ruler.
That was awesome. I love videos where you show the actual quilting. Thank you christina. You gave me some great ideas on how to get inspiration from the quilt top. I would love to see more videos like this. And I would have loved a shot of the quilting at the end. Too bad the camera person missed it. Maybe once you finish it, you can display it during a future watch and learn.
Oh, darn!! I have already sent the quilt back to the owner at AQS. I just checked my phone and I don't have a picture of the full quilt either!! If I can find one somewhere, I will post it!
I'd like to try this ruler - the notch seems like it would be a great improvement / offer better control. I only see the Peace Out ruler version on your website. Do you have the Baby Grand for sale as well? Thanks!
I know that you're using Superior's monopoly, but is it clear or smoke? What do you think of the idea if using a variegated thread in the printed areas of this panel?
Another fun video - thanks. Do you use a particular needle when stitching with mono poly? I've heard people suggest the titanium needles but maybe that's more for domestic machines
Mollie, I use the recommended needle size for Monopoly which is a size 14. As for the stitch mode, I was using Cruise. The only time I really use manual mode is when I am doing small microquilting.
Sure foot is the foot that we recommend using with rulers. The actual ruler is the Peace Out or Baby Grand. They are the exact same ruler we are just in the process of renaming it.
@@kristinawhitneyhqstudioedu7013 thanks Kristina! I met you while doing tech training and long arm training at HQ headquarters in November 2019. Everyone was so welcoming, they even sang Happy Birthday to me which was sweet.
I loved this show BUT right at the end why didn't the production team let us see a close up of the quilting while Kim was talking. That would have been a perfect end.
Unfortunately, we didn't take a picture of the full project before sending it back to its owner. We have reached out to the quilt owner to see if they would send us a picture. I have no idea how I let a quilt leave without a picture!!!
So tired of buying more rulers and other notions! I’m checking out of here soon and don’t plan to pass along all this STUFF to the folks left behind. So Please give us a tutorial for some special effects we can do with things we already have in our standard sewing notions. Like a sewers “ S “ curve maybe. Thank you very much!
I like watching you love quilting you show keep up the good work
Was waiting for the big reveal. ###SPLAT### I will have to be content with Kim's description.
This is so mesmerizing to watch you create😊💚🌿
Would be great to see what your quilting looks like before you end the show, we just see you pointing at it. :-)

I am so glad you like it! It's one of my personal favorites.
I'm so glad you had this video today. It helped reinforce the ideas I'm using on a panel that I'm quilting.
I am looking forward to this tutorials.
Great job on the pretty fill work!

@@kristinawhitneyhqstudioedu7013 I can't tell you how many times I've gifted a quilt only to realize that I haven't taken any photos
Would the handgrip be okay for top of ruler?...sometimes the rulers are slippery for me
You can always give it a try and see how you like it. I almost feel like something not so scratchy would be more comfortable on your hands though!
I'd like to try this ruler - the notch seems like it would be a great improvement / offer better control. I only see the Peace Out ruler version on your website. Do you have the Baby Grand for sale as well? Thanks!
Those are the same ruler. The Baby Grand is going to be the new name once we finish the rebranding.
I can't find Baby Grand or Peace Out on the website. More help please
Can you zoom out just a tad, so that we can see how your hand is holding the ruler?
Would your baby grand ruler work for a quilter with a sit-down machine?
Using all of the sides of the ruler would work. Using the notch wouldn't be very helpful for a stationary machine.
I know that you're using Superior's monopoly, but is it clear or smoke? What do you think of the idea if using a variegated thread in the printed areas of this panel?
It was the clear. You can always try using a variegated thread!!
Where can we buy the piano ruler?
handiquilter.com/?s=baby+grand&post_type=product
Or at your local HQ retailer.
Another fun video - thanks. Do you use a particular needle when stitching with mono poly? I've heard people suggest the titanium needles but maybe that's more for domestic machines
Sorry also wanted to ask if you were using manual mode for that stitching? I have a Moxie.
Mollie, I use the recommended needle size for Monopoly which is a size 14. As for the stitch mode, I was using Cruise. The only time I really use manual mode is when I am doing small microquilting.
@@HandiQuilter Thanks alot.
I broke my needle collar on my Moxie trying manual mode free motion. 😩 I’m waiting on a new one to get here. I’m dead in the water right now.
Where can I get the Baby Grand ruler?
handiquilter.com/product/peace-out-template/
This is the same ruler, they just haven't changed the name on it yet!
What thread are you using...💚🌿
If I remember, I used Monopoly by Superior Threads.
What is the top or the bottom on this panel?
Are you in precision or cruise?
Cruise
Sure foot ruler? Is the name of the ruler please.
Sure foot is the foot that we recommend using with rulers. The actual ruler is the Peace Out or Baby Grand. They are the exact same ruler we are just in the process of renaming it.
@@HandiQuilter Thank you, I ordered the ruler today.
I don't see the Baby Grand ruler anywhere for sale. Is it available for purchase?
It is the Peace Out ruler. It is going to be rebranded as the Baby Grand but not quite yet.
Shelagh from Newbury Uk
The quilting on the panel is beautiful. May I ask the name of the panel so that I can purchase one?
It was a project that we quilted for AQS so I do not know the name. I have reached out to them to see if they can provide that information.
@@kristinawhitneyhqstudioedu7013 thanks Kristina! I met you while doing tech training and long arm training at HQ headquarters in November 2019. Everyone was so welcoming, they even sang Happy Birthday to me which was sweet.
The panel is Venice Flower by Kaufman
@@kristinawhitneyhqstudioedu7013 thanks for letting me know Kristina!
What makes the bobbin thread suddenly start to show ?
A change in the tension. It can be either an issue with the winding of the bobbin, the top thread getting pulled to tight, etc.
I loved this show BUT right at the end why didn't the production team let us see a close up of the quilting while Kim was talking. That would have been a perfect end.
We are working on that and appreciate your feedback!
Christina please post the final quilt. I have the same panel I am gifting a 50 wedding anniversary and need the help

where did you find the panel? do you have the name?
@@maggielorentz1720 The panel is Venice Flower by Kaufman. You can google it to find places to purchase it.
Are you in manual mode or stitch regulated?
I always use regulated mode unless I am doing microquilting.

Very difficult to watch with all the bouncing. The camera needs to be more stable
