I can't believe you guys dont have more subscribers. Great content keep it up.
I know right? Thanks Brandon.
i know right!!! i thought the same thing!!
Great video; thanks for using my Nova / findings on the D-1X. I was considering jumping to a F-series, but was really impressed with the D-1X!
Derek Putnam how much power is it putting down in the nova? I’m trying to get about 800-900 to the wheels and I’m coming from a P1sc. I was thinking about the F1 but is it a big jump with the d1x
@@ryanwilliams8028 it made 925 rwhp at 15.5 psi. I'm sure it would make more if we installed a smaller pulley for more boost; will have to see later this year!
Great review. Running a D1SC on a forged 4.3L V6 vortec. Hits 16PSI at 6K RPMs. D1X will be in my future :-)
Just what i need for my built 281 GT, D1x! Thanks for the info
If you’re running dodge and depending what mods you have the blower definitely makes a difference. Dodges don’t rev high, the D1x looks good on paper but in a dodge it takes a lot to get that blower going not unless you’re 2 stepping to build boost. Its still a serious blower. The D1SC you’ll get more shine with less mods. Sometimes the X can be an over kill
still like to see the F1a vs D1x
Huge question for tuning school, I have a 17 gt 350 with a p1sc, after seeing this video do you think a D1x or a P1x would be ok. The voodoo engine is amazing but I want to do a bit more HELP. I am at 699 to the rear now
Love your show very educational please continue the fine work my question to you is I want to run a bigger supercharger like the
F1A-94 but would like to know how do I estimate what pulley size I need and how low can i run these bigger head units in other words I don’t want to buy a small supercharger and than upgrade down the line I rather purchase the larger supercharger now and just run it on LOW boost If it’s possible.
Very cool
I wonder if a CVT version of this blower could be built
Since these blowers tend to work best in the upper RPM ranges a cvt or similar to spin them faster at low rpm would be beneficial. 😉
Mark Maxwell Believe it or not, they actually do. It’s called I-1. It had four modes on it. It’s like tour, sport, competition, and custom.
I'm looking for 1000hp in my forged 392 hemi. I'm deciding between a d-1x and a 5th gen whipple.
I have a D1SC. If I want to make more power I can just swap down to a smaller pulley. Pulleys cost $100 instead of $1700 for a whole new unit. I understand you only go down so far in pulley size but unless you plan on going over 1000hp then no need to upgrade.
SixGunSled what are you power numbers? I have a stock Scatpack Challenger and want 600+hp and torque at the wheels.
Tim Green I’m at about 580 to the wheels. I’m the procharger can push a lot more than that the issue on these LT1 motors that the chevy’s have is they run out of fuel at that point and need other mods.
I need one of these
I'm your 152nd like. Just had to throw that out there. Thanks. For my 6k pound Cadillac EXT with 408 stroker which should I run with F1R or D1X?
SlimSlugga713 The bigger the better. Did you end up getting a Procharger?
What is the long-term reliability of these blowers vs Eaton Roots TVS?
The Scat is waiting!! But i think the D1x is to much BOOST for my stock 392 :(
Based on? Set a power goal, understand what fuel you need to get that power and make adjustments as needed. If it's street driven honestly and why I don't like blowers that much is you'll be running it on pump gas more often than not. Even if you throw in race fuel as seen by The Tuning School, max gain will be in the 30-35 hp range with no boost adjustment. 100-120 hp gain over stock with one of these is reasonable and acceptable to most people.
@@dj4monie I threw a D1-X on my 2012 Boss 302 and gained 340hp over stock with 9.5 psi on 93 octane... That's a 70% increase in power. Baseline number was 430/398
Please forgive me...are you guys tearing your engine's down and gapping the rings and what not? ....or are you just bolting on the supercharger and running it? I ask because I have a gen 6 454 that I want to procharge.
Add a hollow metal ball between carb and intake manifold ( works like a bong)atomizes and vaporizes gas doubles gas mileage
Tell me more
I made 666/530 on my 2014 5.0 with cobra jet intake/long tubes. P1X with the stock stage 2 pulley.
That's an devilish numer, lol. What fuel are you on?
Chevron 94
Do you have any data for area under the curve? Everyone keeps referencing peak hp numbers. Does the "X" flow as much at lower speeds as the "SC" or is it a compromise?
Hi Kevin, we don't have the comparison under the curve yet. We are trying to get a D1SC to run a comparison for you guys though. :)
Thanks Bob. When I talked to Procharger, I was led to believe the curves tilted rather than moved up. The D1-SC might perform better down low. While most will disregard this, it plays a big part in drivability and power available at part throttle which is huge for most cars that aren't made for race. But I'm not exactly sure what they were using as a constant, pulley size, peak boost number...
Excited to see a logical comparison between the two, apples to apples.
Yep, I'd like to see the power curves and boost curves as well!
Power under the curve is more important than peak most people
Don’t get that. You spend more time under the curve and mid range than you do at redline
When does the pro charger F1A-94 start building boost is it 4500 RPM
So much not included in this video. I have a D1sc on my LS GTO. Trans is built, so is driveshaft, 8.8 rear end and axles. My point is I could, and probably will, do the upgrade but for those that are running stock heads, trans, driveshaft and rear end will get a rude wake up call when shit starts to implode. $1700 upgrade is really a $12K+++ upgrade if you want to make that kind of power and drive it the next day.
I just want 600+ hp and torque at the wheels on my stock M6 Scatpack. What are my options?
Band It Two years later. Everyone I have personally seen add boost to the stock 392 hurts the engine in no time. If you’re on a budget the drop in forged stuff will allow for your power wants reliably. The ring lands are just to thin for boost on the stock pistons. No amount of tuning will solve that problem.
Procharger told me that there is no difference in power under 15 psi between d1sc and the d1x that in fact the d1x might make less power vs the d1sc under 15psi
Thanks for the commend, we're trying to get a D1SC to test and show any differences.
damn if that is true then i'll just stick with the d1sc since that comes with fuel injectors and tune. For some reason you cant get that complete kit with the D1x.
That’s strange because they also say the higher head unit makes more power per PSI
How much horsepower does it add to a v6 Camaro
Mee to need 1
I think they should donate their old blower to me and they can get the new one 😉☝️🇺🇸
What is the price for the D1X?
How much horsepower does the d1x add to a Camaro v6
You would have to check with ProCharger to see if they make a kit for that model, unsure what it would add to a V6 as we teach on V8. Thanks!
