      Emaddy. That’s awesome, I heard fencing has some of the best footwork. I also heard dancing is helpful.

    Which angle should the backfoot be to minimize the risk of tearing the meniscus and the cruciate ligament? Is 90 degree better than 45 or 70 or etc.?

      90° for sure. You want your feet to make a right angle. It is natural for the back foot to drift forward a bit while stepping as we are used to our feet be practically parallel to each other but 90° is what’s best recommended for the back foot in fencing like Aron mentioned towards the beginning of the video

      @@UttamKumar-lc7dw I advise you get more experience fencing in competition before going with your natural gate. Taking something from all schools of thought as well.

      Fry Rice Olympic fencing is not HEMA, its high speed tag, especially foil. Its literally down to milliseconds in Olympic.
