Here's a little tip - Try making the essentials before working on the less important details. Many times people start with the fun parts and work on the more complicated stuff later. Often when you work on a game for a while your motivation for working on the project won't be as prominent later down the road than it was when you first started on the project. It's important to have more motivation on the difficult or important parts so you can push through them with ease. 😊
Thanks for the advice. I have worked out most of the complex problems for the game but decided not to include them in the video to keep it interesting. I figured people would care more about the fun stuff like what I showed in the video, but maybe in the future, I can show off more of the structural pieces holding the game together to give viewers a better understanding of how things are tied together.
Strongly agree with this. I've learned that lesson the hard way, and I also use Game Builder Garage. But this time, I'm going in with a solid plan. 😎 I'm also doing my best to show that GBG can be a good game engine, even with it's limitations. 😅
@@HudenrilieGame what would u do if you got to the noon limit would u make a new game for each level and how will u get the main lobby to know the amount of ( stars) u collected
Man this game is gonna be huge! You better be cautious of the nodon limit, so you will need a lot of game swap nodon! Make sure you have a lot of game slots left to make this game
That is good advice. I have spent a long time planning out my nodon usage. At the point of this video, I have only used around 150 nodon and I plan to use another 150/200 finishing up toad town. That way I have around 100 left to tie the game together with the game swap nodons.
The tiles in the water were bugging me too. I tried out the grass and it does make the water look better, but since I have a texture on the sky, it makes the sky look worse. I tried out ever world object and sadly I can't find a way to make both the sky and the water look good. Thanks for the suggestion though!
I don't think you will see this, but if you want animations, you can use map and bullseyes nodons, it will cut the amount of nodons required, and will save project space
For the SMB1 level Mario’s shirt should be blue and his overalls should be red. I think that would be a nice reference to Mario’s old design.

Also start the scope of the game off small.

Dude... This is epic! You're underrated, and I can't wait to see the next devlog
Also, good to see you back
@@JoshuaDZ Thanks so much. I have had a lot of fun working on this project. I have a few other types of videos I'm also wanting to do soon.
This is cool! If you want to have less tiles in the water and sky, I would recommend using the grass flooring instead of the tiles

Really cool! Keep going!
It's. Been 3 years where's part 2?
Wow this is actually awesome, I know this is old but this is so cool. Also how did you make the ufo JUMP????
He made a constant nodon on negative something to force it down and just connected a button a or b to make it jump
I thought nobody cared for game builder garage anymore. It seems like it suddenly rose to popularity.
i will make marios real time
with every game
