It is such a pleasure watching your ask ROB videos. I caught Typhus last spring and between the fever and infection I've had to go on early retirement. I've been blessed with people bringing me small jobs ( drawers, cabinets along with small pieces of handmade furniture, all my work is finished with my woodriver 5 1/2 . Hand wood working let's me still work and not let depression take over. I live in Rockport Tx. 30miles north of Corpus Christi. If I can help on the bench Brigade let me know

155, they are talking about slop in the adjustment dial in Stanley's that is just inherent to the system. Could you put two washers as spacer's to reduce the slop? Or even snap rings?

Hope it's not too late to add a comment/question pertaining to hand planeing. When finishing, I can appreciate the value of hand planeing long grain areas, but how do you handle end grain applications. If the piece isn't straight so it can't be processed on a shooting board, are you resigned to hand sanding to finish your piece?

A piece can almost always be clamped in a vise to plane the endgrain, it just becomes a balancing game at that point.

No expert, but I’d guess the cost isn’t worth it (no appreciable difference) for a fixed-purpose blade like a plane iron

I missed the live event. I do have an important question about your adjustar. I gave a lie nielson 4 1/2. I bought your adjustar and it got stuck in the frog. I'm hesitant to force it out. I might destroy or dis align everything. How do I clear it and correct the problem from happening again?
