He uses 3 pick-ups. The sound hole pick-up, a bridge pick-up and a microphone inside the guitar. The microphone is for the percussive elements when the hits his guitar. The funny patch on the guitar top is a scratch-pad. On some songs he "scratches" it with his fingernails. Very interesting sound.
Yo. Believe he is from Bristol - UK. ...Some amazing talents from that part of the World. He made a tribute cover of "Jump" when Van Halen died. An amazing piece too if you haven´t seen it.
Man honestly. Every day I see different people on youtube that has hell of talent. People that would otherwise never have the ability to shine if not for youtube. That is awesome. Thanks for sharing this man.
@@michaelgoyettemusic everyone including yourself are special! You all are very talented and give tons of people inspiration to keep working hard with their instruments
Yo. Mike Dawes is definitely on some other level. I'll let him get away with "cheating" this one time as it was interesting to see him show different skills.
I’m pretty sure that piece near the cut away is for using fingernails to make a scratching sound. I’ve never used one but it adds a cool texture though.
Hey sorry this message got lost in the shuffle until you became a member!! I’ve heard him do Jump already but it was a long time ago. I may have a peak. ❤️
Try the weird genius-lathi reaction, they're grub EDM. A very phenomenal song from them whose title is Lathi, after that you just reacted to the acoustic cover of Lathi's song played by Joshepine Alexandra #congrats10ksub
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee 10k! wtg!!! One is the song that convinced me as a teenager that at least some metal maybe wasn't BS (grew up listening to nothing but The Beatles, studying classical piano and then listening to medieval music and Celtic music which eventually got me interested in modern folk music). I was very opinionated and thought I knew an awful lot about music. I eventually learned that I had a whole lot to learn (and might as well just assume I don't know much, since there's a whole frickin' universe of it out there). Today, I learned about scalloped fretboard guitars. So: ty! This performance was mind-blowing. It would have been mind-blowing without the video, but *with* the video, seeing all of the ways he manipulated the guitar to produce this renditon of the song (even with extra tracks or whatever was involved)... whew.
Yo Mike. Mike Dawes makes me want to give up trying after 12 months of learning acoustic. I could probably play the first note he played, so that's always something eh??
I just love it when reactors stop the song. Maybe just listen first, then go back and analyze? Just a mere suggestion. You do you and I will go find the uninterrupted version. thanks
It’s easier to overdub than to learn to play all the parts at once like he did with the other sections….and like what he’s known for. I have no idea how someone would play those parts together….that’s what I was excited to see but I was denied because Mike Dawes can’t do it it isn’t doable. If you don’t know something just ask rather than making an uninformed statement. ✌️

Big smile of total enjoyment
Almost 10k subs! Great job man!

Yo. This guy is a fantastic spider fingered freak of nature. He is superb.
Well put!! Yo
Yo. One of my favourite bands covered by one of my favourite acoustic players. Gold.
How can you go wrong yo?

It’s crazy….10k. Wild. I’m glad you’re learning things and that this song had meaning to you. He’s so good.
One of the best metalica songs IMO. Up there with nothing else matters.
I won’t argue that! ❤️
It's a scratch board... he does most percussion here with his pinky... combination of all is just mind blowing amazing ❤️🔥🌟

The first 10 seconds or so are just the simple guitar part…..
Please do reaction to Kent Nishimura
He was born to play guitar look at his long fingers
He is multiple mic’d inside the guitar

What you’re suggesting is stealing. It’s not supposed to replace the original.

Overdubs and you criticise it ! Odd

It sounded a criticism to me- “ seems to
Me he cheated”
