Does your sliding door lock when you lock the doors with the fob or the lock button on the drivers door? I have the same ex Amazon 19’ sprinter 3.0 diesel.
Yes it did, if you hold both the lock and unlock buttons on your key fob for 10-15 seconds it will cycle between unlocking the just the front doors on the first press or two presses for front and rear. Auto locking after the last door closes is part of the PSM module and will need to be programmed out or unplugged.
So, did you buy it from a salvage auction or which auction? I’m also looking into an Amazon van but mostly on Copart and IAAI, the vans are without any damage and I’m wondering if most of them can have mechanical damage since Amazon makes the driver turn of the van when leaving the van to deliver packages. And I heard that turning on and off diesel engines a lot is bad, it’s mainly made for long driving. So my question is: is your van with any mechanical damage (engine damage) or any wear or noises. Are you worried about the engine or you have no issues at all? It would be nice to know these things before buying an Amazon van.
@@ybukreyev1426 I was not able to buy it at an auction, that would have been a much better deal. I've had it for one year+ and done about 3-4k miles. The engine and transmission has been great so far with no problems or questionable activity. I'll report back on my channel if that changes! 🤞🏻
Did you reprogram the psm or just unplug? I heard if you pull fuse 14 and 15 it will do the same as unplgging. Do these amazon vans need the psm? Is the psm factory on non amazon vans?
Programmed out the PSM, if you unplug the fuses you get "emergency vehicle some functions unavailable" warning on startup. They don't need it although it can add really neat functionality if you can program it which most cannot. Not all Sprinters have the module. Cheers
@@andysgarage1Thanks for sharing your build. As an owner of a decommissioned Amazon van, it is fun to see what you have done. Can you explain the PSM reprogramming a little more please? What other neat features can be added? I also am wanting to program out the auto locking feature and looking for direction. Can you also remove the speed limiting governor? Mine is set to 75 mph. Thanks for any advice you can give.
@@incubusdriver391 That's a long question, the PSM can be programmed to do virtually anything IFTTT style. The problem is it cannot be done by anyone that I'm aware of except builders sending requirements to big Mercedes. The speed limiter etc can be programmed out by someone with Xentry and DTS Monaco. Which can be used to program just about every other feature including cruise control.
@@incubusdriver391 Mercedes can program out the PSM, if you are dealing with an ex Amazon van that will leave you with needing to run power to the rearview camera. As far as the Xentry and DTS Monaco stuff, no, DTS Monaco is a program meant to change coding that only big Mercedes (not the dealership) can do otherwise. I general the dealer would charge you a bloody fortune and send the request to Mercedes to have the coding sent back. Best option is joining Sprinter Source or a similar forum and seeking someone out. Unless you just have a badass Merc dealer there that knows these vans
I’m in the metro Atlanta area. I want to know how you feel about the business you purchased from as it pertains to the mechanical condition of the vehicle. What were some of your unpleasant surprises? Do you recommend the Cobb county business for my used sprinter purchase? Thanks
@@brakejames2639 That's a pretty big question. I feel like I bought it from a seedy dealership that buys vehicles from auction and mark them up a few hundred percent. I would only recommend it if you're mechanically inclined and very much willing to take the risk.

#vanlife genesis! 😁
I am potentially picking up one sight unseen, 19k, with 37k miles. But, seat has a hole, and now I'm wary.
Impossible to say without seeing but 19k would be a steal with that mileage.
