I have used Renogy in my build 4 years ago now and apart from an issue that turned out to NOT be a Renogy problem in the end my system has been flawless. Renogy customer service was very helpful in troubleshooting my issue and went as far as swapping my inverter when ultimately the issue ended up being a Chinese main breaker issue of it not tripping but not giving its rated amps to the Renogy Inverter(s) so they couldn’t invert there rated watts beyond 900-1000 watts. Ultimately switched to Bluesea main breaker and problem was solved. System similar to yours although 4x100 ah batteries, Renogy 12v - 12v 60 amp alternator battery charger and no solar with 3,000 watts inverter.

Nice! Glad to hear of another positive experience, I'm sure enjoying my setup so far, about 18 months in!
Wow - this is great, how many hours did it take to complete?
Thanks! And that's hard to say as I was just working on it evenings, probably 100 hours or so.
Did you screw or bolt your cabinets into the floor?
@@GlennInLaguna The cabinets are thru bolted into all factory M8 locations beneath them as well as rivnuts into the sides. They are also strapped to the van body for impact security. If you check out the few cabinet videos I think all of that's covered, cheers
What mpg are you getting?

Thanks! So far amazing. Did all the trim on my Sprinter van nearly a year ago in FL sun (another video on that) it's holding up great too!
Have you ever considered a way for your DCDC charger to act like a jumper battery for your van in an emergency situation? Right now Renogy DCDC charger can’t charge the starter battery if it were to die during your off grid camping weekend. I’ve been toying around with the idea to make a bypass setup where I can charge my starter battery in this situation if it ever presents itself. Victron and other companies have this feature but we have to a get crafty to make this work on our own.
I have thought about that, there are 12v to 12v chargers you could connect or of course a simple trickle charger from your inverter. Even as rudimentary as jumping across your DC to DC (not during cranking) if I were in an emergency I would make it happen, as far as an integrated solution I haven't had the need yet 🤞
I think the simplest and cheapest would be to connect a regular cheap trickle charger into your inverter and connect via alligator clips to the DC to DC input side. Depending on your van and wiring that may disconnect after the van is shut down for a period.

@@rvc9876 650 grams of freon and 4oz of oil. However, oil should be pre installed in your compressor, reach out to the seller to verify.
@@rvc9876 Also, evacuate the system for 30+ minutes and be sure to purge the lines to your manifold prior to charging. Lots of videos out there that'll be more helpful than my commentary. Excellent video it's hard to watch while nodding head and drumming my feet brilliant music choice

Wow nice ! Hidden in the cabinet is great. Do you think it would be more efficient to have vents in the bottom of your cabinet? Did you disassemble the outdoor split unit or did it come like this?
The intakes for the squirrel cage style fan are on either side of the cabinet. I left a couple of inches on either side for this reason. I do not believe vents would make it more efficient, however, having a temperature sensor remotely located across the van would make a big difference in the steadfastness of the temperature in the van.
Did you have all these ideas planned out ahead of time or is this a step by step process where you don’t exactly know a lot of stuff after the large parts at the beginning?
@@AdventuresOfPepper A bit of both, some initial plans can't be engineered around. So I'd say some were planned out but the whole process was very dynamic, I also did many things multiple times as this is my first van build. Hope that answers your question.
Eats batteries for breakfast .Wow 400ah in 8 hours is hungry.
@@2hotscottpro Definitely hungry!
To remove the shelving sections on the side, many parts have a bolt and rivet. Did you grind off the rivet in order to remove them?
I was originally looking at the Rolef. I ended up with this one as well and have not installed. I wish I had seen this before purchasing as I probably would have spent a bit more in the Rolef
I haven't used the Rolef but have heard good things. In this one's defense I took it down and reinstalled it once more and I'm fairly happy with it. Keep an eye on the channel, I'll do a better update after using it for a bit. Cheers

Did you have a chance to do any testing with an insulated van and the heat?
@@antigroundhogday we've been using the van a lot and the A/C has been great. I'll see if I can shoot an update video this week.
@@andysgarage1 Wonderful. Glad the A/C has been working out. I'm planning things out now and am strongly considering a 12V or 24V system, along with enough battery to run a mini-split of sorts, with the fan, condenser, and compressor underneath like yours to maximize stealth and solar. It'd be helpful to know (but of course you're not obligated, every bit of info. helps!)... A) how long as you running your A/C? Are you running it only during the day when you have good solar, or are your batteries carrying your A/C through a hot night? B) What are the ambient temps and humidity where you have used your A/C? C) What other loads are you putting on your batteries in addition to your A/C? (If you use an induction cooktop a bunch, that would def. be something to consider in sizing my battery bank) D) How big is your batt. bank, what state of charge do you end up with after using the A/C? E) Can your solar recharge your battery banks after a heavy day/night of A/C usage or do you need to use a DC/DC charger? F) What's the max draw of the A/C unit and what is the average A/C wattage used over X period of time (to account for the A/C reaching its set point and cycling on and off, not full blast 24/7) G) How clear have the skies been and what time of year (hours of sun/day) have you tested your system?
@@antigroundhogday I can answer some of these when I have a few minutes. Many of them are however very subjective to my specific specs and environmental conditions.
@@andysgarage1 beggars can't be choosers. Whatever you're willing to disclose, I'm happy to receive! 🤙
@@antigroundhogday I've so far used my A/C in full July in FL heat and humidity, I run it during the day to cool off after a run or while relaxing. The most important time is of course at night. even with full solar offset (around 450 of the 525w) It's still drawing 30+ amps. with 400ah of lithium I could make it most of the day but batteries would likely be flat. The most important time for me is through the night, I find that it will keep a reasonable temp through the night but can be a decent swing of temp between cycling on and off. The A/C does not cycle during the day in FL, it's full bore all the time. There is also a huge temp differential between the front and rear of the van even with insulated window covers. The A/C draws around 800-900 watts or around 70A @12v on full blast, I can run everything along with it except my Keurig which draws 130+ amps for about 30 seconds( I've never tried these two together but it would be feasible with my design) , I would not run or size a system to run a cooktop and the A/C at the same time. My stove is propane as induction uses too much power for my taste. Again my bank is 400ah and a night of heavy usage leaves me around 30% from full, solar alone will not replenish more than 30-40% of that so I have a small generator to augment and a DC to DC charger. In everything but full summer in FL the system is amazing, had 80~ degree temps during the peak of the day for a 4 day trip last weekend and 50s at night, used 20% of batteries tops and were easily replenished by the solar. I think anywhere but full summer here the system is perfect. That said it is not getting the whole space a constant comfy temp in midday in July, just passable and cutting down the humidity. My fix for the summer is going to be hanging a moving blanket in front of the bed area to close it off during sleeping hours, this should drastically improve the required cycles. I'm planning a more comprehensive video but I've been too busy with the rest of the build. Hope this helps address most of your questions, feel free to ask questions as they arise.
Besutiful workmanship, but I'm sure you know by now: acoustically it is an absolutely 💯% horrible speaker placement. I wouldn't spread it....
It actually sounds great! I just adjusted the speaker balance and it's a huge improvement over the OEM locations! And thanks!
I used predominantly Renogy in all my system, and for the price I can’t complain one bit.
Same here, it's been about a year and I definitely have no complaints 🤷
Nice work, it looks great. I too have a used Amazon sprinter, that I am slowly working on. I wondered if a long nut could be used on the ends of the bolts holding the side door rail that would allow you to screw down the molding you made instead of using glue or double sided tape? I have one other question, did your van come with more than the one ignition key, and if not was it expensive to get a spare key? Thanks for sharing your progress.
@@kevinking6692 I'd love to see your build! Mine did not come with a spare key, I live in fear of losing it. Those are studs from the upper track but you could absolutely use a recessed sleeve style nut or the like if you didn't want to use tape. I like the clean look and it's pretty well attached even before the tape.
Bro, hell of a good fix. It's coming out sexy AF
Thank you!
I’m in the metro Atlanta area. I want to know how you feel about the business you purchased from as it pertains to the mechanical condition of the vehicle. What were some of your unpleasant surprises? Do you recommend the Cobb county business for my used sprinter purchase? Thanks
@@brakejames2639 That's a pretty big question. I feel like I bought it from a seedy dealership that buys vehicles from auction and mark them up a few hundred percent. I would only recommend it if you're mechanically inclined and very much willing to take the risk.
@@brakejames2639 If I lived in the area I would probably try to buy one at auction. No particularly nasty surprises for me aside from the few things I pointed out in video, hope that answers your question.

It looked like you installed both the upper and lower tracks first and then the doors. How did you get the doors into the tracks? Is there enough flex in the door to squeeze them in without creasing them?
@@incubusdriver391 These style of tracks are meant to have removeable doors, the upper slide has taller grooves so you can just lift the panel up and out if using glass or something rigid. That said, cutting your own doors you can do them however you like, mine are cut snugger for a slightly tighter fit to minimize vibrations. There's also plenty of flex in the door panels to flex them and pull them out. Hope that answers your question. Cheers
@@andysgarage1 Answers my question perfectly, thank you
Where did you get the locking compartment above the driver sunvisor?
@@AlwaysBeSourcin It came on the Amazon van's from the factory, I'm not sure where else it could be sourced.
So, did you buy it from a salvage auction or which auction? I’m also looking into an Amazon van but mostly on Copart and IAAI, the vans are without any damage and I’m wondering if most of them can have mechanical damage since Amazon makes the driver turn of the van when leaving the van to deliver packages. And I heard that turning on and off diesel engines a lot is bad, it’s mainly made for long driving. So my question is: is your van with any mechanical damage (engine damage) or any wear or noises. Are you worried about the engine or you have no issues at all? It would be nice to know these things before buying an Amazon van.
@@ybukreyev1426 I was not able to buy it at an auction, that would have been a much better deal. I've had it for one year+ and done about 3-4k miles. The engine and transmission has been great so far with no problems or questionable activity. I'll report back on my channel if that changes! 🤞🏻

Creative design. Curious about if the sink drains rather slowly with that size drain tube.
Surprisingly no, before I added the vent I mentioned in the video it just had a small screw off vent and it would drain rather slowly. Currently it seems to keep up with the flow of my Seaflo 3.0gpm pump very nicely.
I would not have thought of how to secure it. I was thinking brackets tac-weld with threads to secure. But coming out sexy bro
@@christopherbates7786 Thanks! I appreciate it!
Soudtrack is annoying af. Stop & explain a bit, please. At least explain steps. What's the ° of inclination required for the condenser? What's the orientation of the compressor? All detail of your drain modification was a blur. I've been interested in the Treeligo split unit for my Promaster conversion. But, I'm thinking of a left rear door mount near my power source. I haven't looked under my van but it has me intrigued. Thanks for posting. Look forward to the update.
@@johnwren3976 The music isn't my first choice but copyright free stuff that YT will let you upload is a mixed bag 🤷🏻. There is no inclination requirement for the condenser according to the manufacturer, I just angled it to facilitate installation in the space I had under the van and for oil return to the compressor. The drain modification was just to keep the overhead shelf at a reasonable height. I honestly wouldn't recommend modifying the drain unless you absolutely have to for your situation. Sorry the videos suck, this was an early one, I'd like to think the more recent ones are explained a bit more, but I'm here to answer questions regardless. Updated video with some AC details is coming, just busy completing the build. Cheers
