The classic silver chrome one is my daily writer, the one with the broad nib. I just put it in my jeans pocket and when ever i need it, it writes like a charm. No skipping or whatever. Very reliable and because is made of metal, it does not break when you drop it. Unlike other very expensive pens. This is my experience with the Scriveiner fountain pen :-)
Came through your channel for a review on the North Face Berkeley crossbody bag, and happy to have landed on a more recent video. Love poetry, and your recent publication is beautiful. Thanks for sharing with us.
If you are in the fountain pen community you are seeing this pen across all social media platforms. I’ve been wondering about it so appreciate your review. I like the understated beauty. Love your poem. I’ve been reading Rilke a lot lately. So the images you painted makes me think of him in the Book of Hours collection. I’m no authority, just saw some of his works a couple years ago and find myself going back to it. Anyway appreciate you sharing.
Thanks for the review and poem! Strange request - but could you please let me know the weight in grams of the scriveiner pen (classic - not the silver body). I'd also be interested in the length in cm - both unposted and posted. This pen has piqued my interest through apparent quality and good reviews for the pricepoint, but I can't find much in the way of details and specifications on the website or elsewhere!
I recommend reaching out to Scriveiner directly for that information. I don't have a scale that does grams. They are very responsive on their social media accounts.
@@DowntheBreatherHole Thanks! I ended up buying a lovely Luxury Silver/Gold Scriveiner fountain pen and really enjoying the ink flow, length and weight thanks to the wonders of Amazon's same-day shipping haha. Great review! The pen is definitely worth the price being paid for it I'm a big fan! 8.5/10 Specifications: Capped - 139mm Unposted - 121mm Posted - 153mm Weight (capped) - 33g Weight (uncapped) - 17g ~ when fully inked via provided converter
When I first saw Scriveiner pens online I thought they were in the same category as Ellington or Wordsworth and Black; all marketing hype but a very cheap low quality pen comparable to a $10 Jinhao. But I saw a few positive reviews so I decided to get one on last Amazon Prime day, at 25% off. First off, I was very disappointed to find that the grip section had damage to the enamelling (looked like it had been exposed to a drop of some kind of solvent). I reached out to their customer services (direct to Scriveiner, not via Amazon), showed them a photo of the damage, and they had a replacement pen, in perfect condition, on my doorstep in less than 48 hours and they didn't even want me to return the damaged one. And I LOVE this pen. I got the Medium in dark green and it writes beautifully, it's weighty and comfortable and it's by far the smoothest steel nib I own. I wouldn't call it a luxury pen - luxury has to be earned over decades of ongoing providence, like Montblanc or Visconti - but for its price-point I think it's beautiful and absolutely excellent, and their customer service is top-notch too. Also, I love your poem. 🙂
It really just depends. I personally prefer the Safari, which is also a little cheaper than the Scriveiner Classic. But for the money I do think the Scriveiner Classic is a good pen. It all comes down to personal preference. The Safari is plastic, light-weight, and has a triangular grip section. The Scriveiner is metal, heavier, and has a somewhat slim round section. So it just depends on what you want.
Right on money.."No branding on the nib or on the convertor". No gold nib, nu turned acrylic, no precious resin. There nothing luxury about this pen apart from the name "luxury"....cheat brand. 😂😂
I know my video style might not work for everyone, and that's fine. But I see my channel as a creative space, not just a space to talk about stuff you should or shouldn't buy. Also, this is a pen video, which is why I didn't talk about a knife. Did you mean to say pen?

Really cool poem, Brian. Thanks for sharing. I also love that ink color.
Thanks, Ian! I appreciate that a lot.

Thanks for your kind comment! Because of people like you, I will probably share my poetry more on my channel.

I'll have to check Rilke out. I'm not sure if I've read him before.
I bought 2 Skriveiner pens because i enjoyed the first one so much.
That's awesome!
Are they better than PARKER for the same price like IM model?
Thanks for the review. 👍🏻
Thanks for watching!

would you recommend this over a lamy safari?

Lovely poem but i may have been unduly influenced by the use of the word gloaming. It's very evocative for me.😊
haha It's definitely not a word you hear every day!
I believe it's basically pronounced SCRIV-ner. So basically just drop the first E

I like Scriveiner just fine, but they definitely aren't a luxury brand in the same way that Montblanc, Namiki, or others are.
You just wanted to read your poem but literally said nothing about the knife. Just make a pros and cons instead of bla bla.

Yeah, it's sounds strange to most people to spend more than a dollar or two on a pen.
