  • In today’s episode we have a little head to head competition between the Gruv Gear Quivr and Mono M80 studio stick bags. As mentioned in the episode I have been searching to replace my aging Yamaha stick bag and this Stick Bag Shootout will determine which one take up the mantle. After review I can say that both bags are very high quality and have some great features. The Quivr a very streamlined low profile bag and would be a great addition to any drummers arsenal especially paired with Gruv Gear’s Club Bag. The Mono a slightly larger bag also high quality sports some great features as well and does have a slight advantage being that it is a little larger. Leave a comment below and tell me which bag you prefer or which bag you currently use. Links to both products are below 👇

Thanks for including the QUIVR in your review! We definitely took a minimalist approach on this model to keep it light and low-profile. Wait till you see what we're cooking up next... 😎

No problem, I really like this little stick bag. I actually ended up keeping it and fully intend on purchasing the club bag so I can do a full review. My bass player has a club bag and loves it. As soon as I can get some more purchasing funds together the club bag is next on my list 👊💯

I love my Club Bag Stealth/Quivr/Bento Bags. I can easily swap out gear, depending on the type of gig I have. I also once had a Peter Erskine freestanding stick bag, until it was sadly stolen. I therefore appreciate having the freestanding feature again that the Club Bag/Quivr offers. Thanks for the review, and thanks Gruv Gear for making Great Gear!

I prefer the Mono as it is similar to my current stick bag; internal stick space and external accessory pouch. I like the quvr’s ready-to-use feature as the last thing you want to do is fumble that pick up and have to look down at the bag mid-song. A simple tool, but one that let’s you get on with the job of making music without fuss. Solid factual review and the reveal on the Mono pouch meant that it wasn’t just a camera trick!

I saw one on another channel that was more like a small carry on flight luggage bag with space for a towel and change of clothes that also fit all your sticks and emergency kit extras etc. I like the idea of these more compact bags you show, although I would probably prefer the "overnight bag" option that is primarily designed for drummers and their sticks

Do remember what the other bag was called?

Bearded Drums - it's the Vic SBag2. He does kind of show the whole bag at points in the video

Oh yes! Many great videos on that bag! Probably the biggest and most versatile ones. I had one years ago and could fit just about everything but the drum set itself, lol. Stephen Taylor does a great vid on that bag:

These are both top-end brands of MI accessories, but when it comes to the stick bag, the winner is Gruv Gear for me. I like that it's smaller but loaded with more features.

Hope you review the new Rogers dynosonics. The bottom hoop is not right.they warp. My friend bought one couldn't tune it.I looked at the drum and found the bottom hoop was out of round. He called the store he bought it from, they said he had it since Christmas wouldn't help him.he ordered a new hoop from a different store put it on finger tightened and put three 1/2 turns on it and it's warped. Please review, maybe Rogers will listen to you. I sure hopes Rogers fixes the problem. There is a lot more choices out there that don't cost $800.00.

Yeah that’s a high price tag for something that’s not produced properly right out of the gate, trying to find some info on the problem as we speak.

Not really an apples to apples comparison because of the bag size differences. If you use the Quiver with the Club Bag, you’d actually be able to carry more accessories and the same number of sticks as the Mono bag.

I totally agree, I love both bags and hopefully will be able to revisit the Quivr if I can save up the money to be able to afford the Club bag at some point. It wasn’t really meant to be an even comparison more of a shootout to determine what would replace my current bag. Also, I just wanted to show everyone two high quality Stick bags that are options for someone looking to upgrade or replace their own. Thanks for commenting 👊💯

I'd say the quivr because it discourages hoarding, you only need to get through the gig.

Good point, I did keep it though cause it’s a really nice bag and I like the thought process behind it. 👊💯
