It's interesting watching the other monkeys inspect and try to help ... They clearly have some grasp that there's something very wrong and they're all scared to touch him.. and they seem reluctant to touch that wire he's touching... So they must have some experience of seeing that happen even if they don't understand, they know enough from experience to know that if you touch him whatever it is might get you too.
They get electrocuted all the time. They put devices on the poles here that switch off the power of a short is detected and there’s a fiberglass rod on each pole to get the monkey off the line so power can flow.
It still kills the monkey, but there’s a lot less equipment damage and fewer extended outages. Plus you rarely see them get burned to a crisp on the line anymore. When I was a kid there were fried monkeys on every line.

The monkey was sadly dead before it hit the ground. Had they managed to dislodge it from the power line earlier then perhaps with some heart massage it may have survived if they had caught it in a net. The fall could killed it anyway.
But they were taking a video waiting instead of taking that video helping the monkey until it died heartless people

@@michaelhearn3052 I used to own a baby monkey myself. She though, poorly died from a cold (I actually forgot how she died, she just went in a state of rigor mortis.) The female monkeys are sometimes nice but the male monkeys just straight up kills in its own grumpyness. I know this because I also owned a male monkey named Larry. We had to put him down due to how aggrovated he got over the years. If monkeys didn't exist then rat populations would increase.

@@chinglembanahakpam I've been observing them for a while and note that Some monkeys can sit on the same line & have no problem, then another comes along & gets electrocuted. It's just a theory on my part, but it would seem to explain that.
I think it’s because they’re touching two wires as once, you end up as a conduit the electricity passes through.

@@Sanakudou Correct. You have to bridge between a power line and ground line. Typically, the ground wire is the lowest one in the stack. Effectively, the same thing as holding your tongue over both terminals of a 9-volt...only on a WAY bigger scale.

And the Cambodians, and Thai, Laosian and im sure many other asian countries citizens who are getting all the bank they can from youtube who literally does the bare minimum or to phrase it better; they do just enough to get whoever it is thats trying to get something done about it off their collective asses their at Google and just keep letting more and more of this endless cycle of animal abuse vids generating them some major cash flow and that brings me back around to my point at the beginning of this longer than I expected it to be comment/rant/tyrade whatever to the OP of the above comment realize that those arent healthy thoughts of a decent person and I really and truly do hope you find someone to talk through the issues and problems that are more than likely causing your enjoyment of these things and im sorry if this comment came off to you in anyway negatively bcuz I hope you know that, that was and is in no way my intention in typing this comment/novel out. This is the type of death no animal or person should experience. I was electrocuted as a kid (long story) and it’s horrific. You’re stuck because you’re like a magnet to it. The feeling after is just as bad.

You think monkeys are cute and probably should be pets. You obviously have no idea how much of pests they are. In India and other parts of Asia, they kill cats and dogs for fun. They destroy crops and cause all kinds of problems. They breed like rabbits and way overpopulated. Lots of people trap and exterminate them. They carry hepatitis and other diseases that can be transmitted to humans.
