- Hello ! Welcome to our Chill Little Trip in Guadeloupe where you can discover places we've been, food we've eaten, animals we met, the paths we have walked...
We spent 16 days in the Antilles, more precisely in Guadeloupe. We discovered an island with huge history and traditions, very far away from what we've been told. Palm trees and clear water is often the only things to remember for a lot of people but we've learned a lot more, in particular about the impacts of sl4very in the modern society.
To get more precise, Guadeloupe is apart of the other Antilles Islands because they experienced a first abolition of sl4very in 1794 and undergo the restoration of sl4very in 1802 by Napoléon. If you want to learn more about this period you can follow this link : journals.opene.... This restauration let scars in the society. Plus, modern public authorities the island and refuse to face their responsabilities upon the consequences of sl4very. Like we told you in the video, consequences are the use of pesticides that lead to a high rate of cancer, prices are much higher because their controled by importation, no accessible drinkable water and a lot more that we ignore or that we cannot talk about here.

Thank you for making the voyage and creating a video about the experience. I've been learning more about France, and there are lots and figures on Wikipedia. But I really have wondered how the people in "mainland France" feel about places like Guadeloupe, or do they visit.
I also appreciate seeing how you feel about pelicans! I just watched your visit to Montpellier and I got to see your feelings about flamingos.
Were glad you liked our video ! 😄 We really wanted to tell our feelings about this trip because we learned a lot on top of being in a beautiful place ! We’re from « mainland France » and medias here always have the same views over Antilles (infantilizing and lowering) and so we wanted to tell our vision, a bit outside the box as it were 🤗
And yes we were a bit afraid of the pelicans 😂😂😂 they look threatening don’t they ? 😩😩
@@ChillLittleTripsWell, thank you again. I'm doing a move to Rhone Alps this year, and started researching everything and discovered all these...regions outside of what I considered "France." And I don't want to use the word shocked, but I was very, very surprised at all the locations and categories of places--some even considered France itself. So watching you travel soooo far, but still being inside the country made me look at the US (and other big countries) that have this kind of...deal. So to be able to see your trip and insights/feelings was a delight.
