I hit 'like' even before seeing the video. The Cars were my fave during the wayward high school years and are regrettably underrepresented among RUclips tutorials. Elliot Easton has serious chops!
I've appreciated them more as my musical tastes developed. At the time their mix of rock and new wave wasn't really my thing. Too quirky for my taste and not heavy enough when I was in my twenties. Love the cars nowadays.
Wow Kelly, I saw The Cars in 78 in Toronto at the El Mocambo Tavern with fake ID. My sister was 19 & I was 15.5. Loved the band. Once again Top Shelf ♪♫♪♫♪
I think it's easier capoed at the 5th fret Also, when these guys started,l thought to myself geez it's been a minute since the last Roxy Music album good to hear from them again
Ah, MTV's music video of the year winner. The song certainly holds up better over time versus that groundbreaking honeybee CGI. Video did not ultimately kill the music star.
Probably one of my least favorite Cars songs....I love The Cars and Elliot Easton's guitar work. As usual. Elliott's work and solo was bad ass so I always enjoyed it. I think they have like 5 songs I don't love...😂

...and upon viewing the tutorial, the 'like' is confirmed to be well-merited! Thanks much, KDA!
Me too
I'm a hard rock guy, but I've always like the Cars. Great song and lesson, Kelly!
Great one! More from The Cars!!!
That pre chorus is a well crafted part of this song..thanks for the perfect breakdown
Great one. Some absolute classic songs by The Cars.
I did enjoy that classic. Another great selection, another great job showing us.
Best you tube teacher ever
The Cars had catchy riffs. Thanks for the lesson.
Awesome lesson. Love this song!!!
Thanks again Kelly for another great lesson.

It amazes me that humans can come up with licks within the songs. Where does it come from? Good job on the lesson Kelly as normal 👍🏻
That was awesome Kelly! Best lesson for this song on the tube! Love your lessons!
Great song pick and lesson … love the Cars! Well done.. let’s have some Cars please. Nice tone too 🎉
Great lesson
My favorite Cars song.
Great lesson, thank you!!
Hi there. I’m glad you featured The Cars after long time you haven’t done videos on their music
Love me some cars music and lessons 🤠
Muito obrigado por compartilhar... valeu demais Man 😎🎸

You might think you’re in the movies, and everything’s so deep :))🎉🎉❤
Thanks, KDA! In that vein "Since You're Gone" would be good one. Great opening riff (and no good lesson on the tube)
Great idea. Thanks.
If you are familiar with the fingerpicking for Dust in the Wind, that's a good starting point for Since You're Gone. Great song!!
Same. Metal guy but gotta have the Cars 🚗
Kelly any firewall songs
Do “Let’s Go.”

Elliot Easton such a tasteful player

For me their "bad one" is Let's Go :-)
