although the Precursor mantle sounds like Halo lore. How the Forerunners stole the mantle that was supposed to be given to humanity. Maybe this is a what if to that actually happenning and the forerunners weren't greedy.

Yeah, that's one of the things i've been thinking about when it comes to space exploration, immagine if we travled to planets outside our own solar system and found long decaying ruins of alien civilizations.
Did you NOT listen? They didn't go extinct, they ascended to a higher plane of existence. And once they became omnipotent and no longer wanted or needed anything, they grew bored and just faded away. The pyramid explained that.
You mean like what was revealed in the Endwalker expansion of the MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV? Probe: "What is the meaning of life?" Advanced Civ: "We don't know of any meaning anymore." *promptly end their existence* Probe then consumes their despair and flees to the end of the universe...
A nice humorous look at evolution. A good look at what could happen if humanity ever reaches the next step in evolution, and then realizes that it's not worth it because once you get there, you realize that there's nothing left to look forward to.
we have no idea what this realm is though, what's after death, we know nothing, we can't make predictions at this point, they'd be logical extrapolations of incomplete data.
There are other stories like this in the HFY genre. I remember one which had aliens following evidence of ancient humanity until they found an outpost containing the digitised minds of humanity, with instructions on how to revive them. I thought it was quite a nice story.
Always made me sad how the Halo franchise was a hfy universe and then got retconed. Humans as the forerunners was always a cool plot. Glad other ppl like that type of story!
Eh, iirc they retconned it to the humans being forerunner peers and losing a two front war against the forerunners and flood. So the ancient humans were still on that level.
You will find that a lot of of startrek episodes are repurposed, sometimes whit the same names just slightly differently written. and the alien and or its background changed a bit. Some of them are not subtle about it at all. Seeing how many Startrek stuff is out there its not strange an AI would use it, since i dont think they write there things them selfs, Thank god they do use voice actors instead of AI voices.

@JTruong3rd convergent evolution would not create mammals on an alien world. It might create a being that secretes nourishment for it's young, but that wouldn't be a mammal. A being that evolved on an alien planet could not be genetically related to any other mammal, so it can not be a mammal.
@jonasflorencio1346 sure. I can forgive it in this video, but there are plenty of others, and many other sources of sci-fi that can't make that claim, yet still have alien mammals, alien reptiles, etc.

but here hmm , leets try these 'hues' and threads of concepts to explore further
one could also say due to how logic structure wise there is no separation between existing and what anything so far conceptualized as sentient/sapient would label as 'alive' a crude analogue would be how leets say you got all the unfair 'old age' pains , your body crumpling as chemistry withers your joints , your bones , your organs , your mind risks to become little more then a few disconnected memory pattern neurons that fires on repeat so your personality even your self awareness became a faint echo of what it once was
would you consider yourself to be 'not alive' if that was fixed by say some cyborg style artificial neuron optics installed for your brain , some bio engineering and replacement protestics for your limbs and organs ? no you hardly start call yourself 'dead' just because the tastebuds that told you how delicious the culinary arts where ,was made of silica, the sensors in your limbs giving you joy from feeling the wood as you worked it where grown in labvats , anyless then you start consider your memories and affections of others any lees 'dead' just because the weave of light they and your personality where made of bounced around through partly artificial materials
its only in stories like these where a perspective wants to consider a existential question ,yet indirectly fails to present any existential question as what it presents still should be very much alike to each other
so another way to consider why i'd say the author need to work on the concept is
that a better ''i was alive'' state to compare for the same pyramid scenario without it being a cognition matrix of clearly self aware sentient/sapient nature that has its existence come with several things that contradicts the 'i once was alive'
the pyramid hade initiated dialog without any care about its own current form of existence , only adressing the explorers not as individuals but as fragments of their civilization making it hard for them to decide if the thing just was a lingering sentinel so different from themselfs its lack of self reflection was pure culture related
or as it only be speaking of its species and civilization either in third part or as if still in past aka as if connected to it in its vibrant state through the flow of time where a 'mimic' of the general cognition capabilities of the species that built the pyramid
sort like what may happen if you 'uploaded' a person yet the process removed all their 'ego' all their self awareness so you hade all the experience all the capability for interaction etc , yet no self considerations or self reflection
either way , thats two more ways to phrase it more or lees ish ;) once agen i dont want to crap on the writer but constructive critic is how someone might learn enough to become the next tolkien
