So stoked to find your channel. I am 57 years old. I was shot twice in the stomach during a home robbery ambush in 2016. 25 operations since, lost a kidney and have been fulltime dialysis and on a kidney transplant list the last 4 years. Music has made incredible hardships a little easier. I learned a few weeks ago I finally have a living donor for a life sustaining transplant. When I am in recovery I want to start trying to play a guitar. I also want to use all that time I am getting back from the dialysis torture chair to commit to my new journey. I am ready to go buy a guitar and amp as I type. This channel appears to be my perfect point of departure. My only other concern is my smashed up fingers from years of motorcycles, motocross and general extreme stupid shit. They often get cramps and arthritis. Can send pic lol. Where is your shop? I have the usuals nearby. Guitar Center, killer private or mom and pops. Its Austin by God Texas! lol no shortage of music and music shops. Going to see the Misfits and Suicidal Tendencies tonight. Love every genre imaginable. Should I get a new one and amp? If I buy used on FB marketplace, etc. I have no idea what to even look for in quality and wear so leaning new but no need to kill the bank. So thoughts on recommend next step?? I dont know shit about notes, chords, nada. Tuning a guitar?? I know NADA! I am going to go with one of your recommendations. What would be the most forgiving for stiff not so nimble fingers?
I'm love the guitar; I haven't been able to get one cause my parent are really tight on money and struggling to get us the things we need. And I've been learning everything on the guitar. I know almost all the scales, but I just need to get my finger placement and learn how to tune.
Epiphone lp standard for beginners my ass. Nor cheap, for someone like me whos a father of 3 monsters, a wife and mortgage. Not to mention bills ! Brother that aint cheap. Plus the weight and thickness of the neck. To me the ibanez gios squier affinitys anything under 350 is ok to be considered for beginners. Considering what are the odds of anyone sticking to it. I think theres a lot of misinformation or misconception out there now on the internet and also music store trying to sell their inventory on what is an ideal beginners guitar . I like the video pretty entertaining but start from the bottom up with squier bullets with the pacificas and whatnot.
You're absolutely correct. But man there are a bunch of great built good quality guitars around 200.00 us. Dollars. Firefly has amazing instruments not just beginners but guitar players in general. Grote. Harley Benton. Fesley. Fazley. Monoprice. There are many more. This truly is the golden age of buying guitars. There honestly are so many different brands out there that are really good guitars around the two hundred range it can be confusing. Which is a good thing.
sorry to bother you but i am gonna buy my first guitar soon so can you tell me what is the best HSS (or ta least HH) guitar for around 300 US? @@chucklee347
Friends, these are not guitars for beginners, they can already be played at some local party. Don't be angry, but it's unnecessary to waste so much money on a guitar. Most give up within the first two months and eventually after a year remain below the 5 percent who are still persistent. Better to suggest a guitar pack or $100 to $200/$220 guitars. All the best
I’m about to get my very first electric guitar. Just wondering how would someone play “Beat It” as none of the guitars have that stick like thingy on it except Squier Bullet Stratocaster?
Different amps sound clearer especially on distortion, in the end though you want to get a better amp than a guitar. Cheap guitar with a higher cost amp
Not so much. I mean, obviously there will be a difference from a cheap guitar to an expensive one, but for the most part, eq, mixing, and plug ins will determine the final sound. Oh, and how you record into the daw as well.
Yeah absolutely! The only thing I’d say to watch out for though with the S series guitars and other guitars like them are floating bridges, they’re amazingly fun and cool but they take a bit of know how and patience to restring and set up correctly.
