Hadestown, the new musical by celebrated singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell, developed with innovative director and Tony Award nominee Rachel Chavkin. The cast features Reeve Carney, André De Shields, Amber Gray, Eva Noblezada, Patrick Page, Jewelle Blackman, Yvette Gonzalez-Nacer Kay Trinidad, Afra Hines, Timothy Hughes, John Krause, Kimberly Marable, Ahmad Simmons, Malcolm Armwood, T. Oliver Reid, Jessie Shelton, and Khaila Wilcoxon. Preview performances for Hadestown begin Friday, March 22 ahead of a Wednesday, April 17 official opening night at the Walter Kerr Theatre.

They are literally singing the song for each other, in real life, and everything and everybody else are just spectators. I have a huge feeling that they’re already dating during this time, just look at all the verbal and non-verbal cues. Love these two!

I like it though. Each version, live, recorded, even if you ever see the bootlegs, they all have some part thats spoken differently. It adds another perspective to the story imo. Its like each time its told it is fluid and alive and changing naturally. Thats a nice state for story telling I think

The feels, the chills. This is my new love song now. I love how Eva giggles, i love how Reeve clocking Eva at her every move. At the end of the song i wanna shout to both of them "just Kiss dammit!". Glad i was not there, otherwise im gonna embarrassed myself sobbing so hard & loud.
I thought I'd never get over Nabiyah Be, but Eva is so incredibly valid and talented. They're equal in my soul now.

Curious, how do you fall in love with a show you haven't seen? Is it the concept album and music? The cast album? Bootleg recordings of this cast?
F E for me it’s always the music?? Because I can’t afford to go see them. Of course Bootlegs are always great but the quality takes away from the play so I just listen to the music and read the plot
F E I feel like, for me anyways, the music is what makes me fall in love with a musical. For example I have been listening to the Hamilton soundtrack for a long time and fell in love with it and fell in love with it even more when I saw it in September.

That weird moment at they end 3:49 when they both think that they should kiss, but neither of them has the courage to.
What's so amazing is that they are such good actors that their chemistry on stage (even outside of the show stage) is so believable and raw! In Way Down Hadestown, seeing them on the side of the stage is ADORABLE! If you didn't know she was married, you'd think they were a couple in real life!

Listening to these songs is one thing thats already fantastic but watching their performance really breaths life into the story. Already emotional, and yet such a greater level of feeling just watching them

Well, there goes all the breath in me. I love this version, and it’s the emphasis and how every little inflection shows more skin. Eva’s performance is so vulnerable and hauntingly strong and knew how to articulate (with what she does with aanis’ words) what I struggled with.
Hadestown helped heal me, thank you, my forever Hermes, for sharing this. 🖤🥀🪶
