its sad to see them pay literally millions in legal fees just to shut ppl up about their RCE's instead of just using that money to help patch their engine, incase you are wondering the MW still has rce's that are from the Demonware engine (not just the actual game) on PC. It's still about just as dangerous as bo3 to play on PC all because they don't want to pay their devs I'm guessing. Chances are much lower than these older games since there's still some support for these newer cods but as soon as the next one releases, they immediately stop supporting the older versions. It happens every time and each time they make a new one the previous one is full of hackers. smh; glad to see Maurice's work finally coming together though.

I hope videos like these help bring some new players on these older, unfortunately dying communities. Great work. Everyone who plays Black Ops 1 on steam, I recommend taking it easy with the create a class menu. Every time you edit a class, it'll send the changes to a server for validation. This will show on screen as a window saying "downloading game settings". Sometimes it will stay stuck multiple seconds, even tens of seconds on this screen. Do NOT press ESC or cancel the process, or your changes won't save and you risk corrupting your whole rank data. The rank system is really quite buggy on BO 1 and rank resets are not uncommon. I've had my stats unintentionally reset 2 times. And on pre MW2 (2009) all rank data is only saved locally on your PC so if you change computers or reinstall your OS, remember to backup your rank data first if you don't want to start all over again the next time you play.
I love hopping on MW2 2009 or BO1/BO2 it just takes ya back to a basic time. Not to mention the fact you can just unlock all and play with whatever you want.
for me recently: BO4 does have a VERY dedicated and ((mostly)) chill community, I was trying to get a TDM game going after having a few good full servers and the people that were left all friended each other and we populated a FFA lobby! Made some friends and had some good times! Grapple hook is still really fun and the movement still feels fast and responsive :)

For BO3 I haven't ran into a cheater that was bad. I actually ran into one that made me max prestige in both zombies and multiplayer and gave me a ton of currency for supplydrops so that's probably the nicest cheater out there Little edit here but on the topic of BO3; I know you said you aren't a big zombie person but I think that's something you should have mentioned cause BO3 has steam workshop support so it is VERY easy to download maps. Plus there's hundreds of custom zombies maps that are extremely easy to download. That just makes BO3 far more worth it IMO

this got me playing cod4 on pc, so your video definitely worked for giving some life to the pc cod community. i played a lot of console cod years ago but switched to pc and decided to pick up old cods again. glad to see there's still a community for pc cod, as it was something i was more of an outsider looking into when i used to heavily play cod.
I didn’t know about that COD:WAW issue. I’m not surprised Activision has not fixed it since they still haven’t fixed the stats issue that affects all CODs on PS3.
Oh yeah that's right, I remember hearing that if you get a PS3 you need an old account so your stats dont reset every time you log back in to a game.. man I really hope they fix this kinda stuff
@@Rxqe You also have to have played BO2 or BO1 or any of the old CODs prior to 2019 to play them without crashing or stats resetting. COD4 and WAW are uneffected, but MW2, BO1, MW3, BO2 and Ghosts don’t save stats. BO2 actually has the worst issue, as it crashes your PS3 on startup and can possibly corrupt your hard drive (happened to RUclipsr Mystic). Ghosts is least affected, as all it does is unlink your Call Of Duty account. The rest unfortunately have the stats issue that, from the looks of it, will never be fixed due to the 7th generations age and it being more of a PSN issue rather than a Activision issue. Unfortunately it seems the Xbox 360 and PC versions of these games are the best versions.

Man this is the best CoD video ever! So glad RUclips recommended me your channel. I've been a fan of CoD since 2003-2004 when I saw my cousin play the original on his PC, I was blown away at the time, but I only got my first PC couple years later and in 2007 the legend such as CoD4 happened and I've sunk countless hours into it. Now I'm replaying old CoD campaigns and having a great time with them. Also wanted to dive into multiplayer but wasn't sure which is the best one, and this video is exactly what I was looking for
Downloading cod4 now to try it out. Ive never been a kbam player but it seems cool to try it out on pc instead of console. Very informative video and went straight to the point
Bo4 on pc is also known to brick hardware on certain cards like NVidia 900 series and 10 series due to improper api calls overriding the overheating protection in addition to poor optimization pushing the card to work harder than it needs to, causing it to heat up. Do not play even buy it unless you have a 30 series card or higher or your pc might stop working.
I had my 1060 on BO4 and I don't recall any major issues with it, unless it triggered due to an update at some point. Thank you for the heads up on it though!
@@Rxqe it did it on both my 970 and my brand new from the factory 1070. It killed my 970 and showed the symptoms on the 1070 that it did on my 970 before it died.
The very same Steam update that ruined BO3 performance also managed to kill IW mp 😭. Also, I can't personally enjoy BO3 mp since for some reason most of the time I'm matched against blatant hackers😭 😭. Can't wait for them to get their own clients!
Apparently, around the time the BO3/IW update was released, there was also an update for BO4, which crashes the game when you enter the Black Market. I honestly don't know how they screwed up THREE games at once, making one of them completely unplayable lmao
Wow, great content :) Which one would you recommend in the following scenario: the main interest is to play casually against bots in multiplayer mode with a good variety of maps (so, finding other people to play is not a huuge factor). The campaign is not a factor to consider at all. Also something that can run in an average computer and ideally is not a huge beast with hundreds of Gb, but it's still somewhat modern and not buggy (and available in Steam). Tks!
It pains me so much to see the games that I truly have an attachment to and would love to go back and try to re-live (Black Ops 3, IW and Black Ops 4) are broken/unplayable ☹️. Really holding out hope for clients for these. ESPECIALLY the masterpiece that is Black Ops 3 considering the insanely saddening state it has unfortunately fallen into. edit: Amazing work on this video, though! I went back and tried CoD4 again recently. The community is completely different to how it was back in the day. I think it's pretty much exclusively people who moved over from console.
Reminder, WW2 on PC does not have AA/TA for controller players, not in regular MP anyway. Only in the SP and ZM will you get aim assist. BO4 also lacks AA/TA entirely on PC. Additionally, only CoDs after AW have proper FOV sliders. AW only goes up to 90, Ghosts only does like 80 max. There's no FOV changer for AW currently, not for MP that won't get you banned. There's FOV changers for the older titles like MW2/3 and BO1/2 which won't get you banned. Ghosts also has a FOV/FPS unlock tool which is VAC-safe. Flawless Widescreen can also change the FOV, up to 90, and fixes the aspect ratio for 21:9 and beyond. It is also safe to use from my experience. I don't know about Ghosts' SP, but chances are if it's safe for MP it's safe for SP as well. IW on PC has messed up keybinds, both up and down for mouse wheel are bound to "wepnext" (or weap), you need to open the keybinds config file and change one of them (or any other key you'd want to use for weapon switching) to "wepprev". May need to make it read-only too, can't recall. WW2 has the same issue, except you cannot force it to use the same command, it's locked and won't work. Speaking of config files, triple monitor support is broken, at times anyway I believe, for WW2's SP. It works fine in the MP exe, but in SP you can only choose "dual" for some reason. I swear I once had triple as option in SP, but it's just gone now. You can force triple via the config file. Setting the mode to "tri" and then saving it and making it read-only should make it work. FOV is limited based on screen mode, in triple screen mode it's very limited and the 115~ FOV (vertical 95) will basically span all 3 screens. This does not apply to BO3, BO4 or IW, they all work fine in UW and will continue to increase the FOV. BO4 has broken lighting effects and lens flares are based on your horizontal screen width, so you'll be blinded on maps like IX or Tag.
Imagine if the devs decided "You know what, lets go back and update the security on all the older CoDs. Better security, fewer breaches." I hate that once that years game cycle is complete and a new CoD comes out, they just abandon that game. At least they fixed console MW3's matchmaking years later, why cant they do that to more games but update the security. Don't even get me started on console BO2. I'd pay good money for them to go back to the game and update its security so there are fewer hackers and infection users. At least go back and break the theatre mode. Yeah the newer CoDs don't have this issue thanks to stuff like Ricochet and other better security measures, but I feel like us veteran CoD nerds should at least be rewarded with a remaster of the older CoDs WITH better security and stuff

I was not aware that there was a patch to fix the performance issues on bo3. Thanks alot. I've not been able to play it since that update cuz my fps got tanked from 100+ to 40fps. I'll def be trying out the patch
I'm probably one of the very few people keeping world at war on PC alive for the number of servers you can find for coop anyway. I've been doing the custom zombies maps since i got the game on disc in 2009/2010. I bought in on steam before the keys issue so im "grandfathered in". Unfortunately, the modded zombies scene isnt really drawing in new people much anymore :(
BO2 PC is all dedicated servers btw. Incredibly rare to have any peer to peer games. BO3 steam counts are tricky to base anything off cause campaign, zombies and mp are all grouped into one so play count won't always be what's expecred
gotcha! thanks for the info on BO2. Also yeah that's the case with BO3 and IW, just shows the total count across all game modes. Mentioned it a good number of times that most of the BO3 population I'd assume is on for custom zombies haha
I would LOVE to play some MWR and help get servers populated but it barely runs on Linux, at least for right now. Hopefully more people will start playing these older cods
As someone who plays Bo3 pretty much daily still (mainly Zombies) so idk how bad the MP is, i can tell you, yes there are aton of ppl who use MXT (the Mod Menu that is used against RUclipsr etc) but they mainly use it for get prestige unlock alls and market place/gobble gums stuff. As of the Crashing stuff, the main Problem with this Menu, is that there is a "Pre saved" list with alot of Streamers etc, the avg player isnt in that, the Guy with the Menu would need to be in your Game and make a Custom list while you are in the Game, it doesnt save your ID when you leave, so in 99.9% if you encounter one, he prob wont do it and crash you later.
I gotcha! I'm very aware of the MXT tool, good to know that the average player isn't saved in the list. I think MrTLex showed off the list in his video I showcased which showcases your exact point. Thanks so much man, I'll let people know :)
well now you do! I heard the stutter issue was pretty hit or miss with zombies; some people had it but others didn't. At one point I didn't have any problems with zombies! But hopefully the stutter fix helps you :)
Ah yes, Black Ops III. 1600h on record in Steam. Many important friendships were made, hundreds of late night deep talks were discussed, many many cheaters were beaten with pure skill, prop hunt gave the best/funniest drunk weekend chill sessions... Hope Steam & Asstivision get their shit together.
Y'all, I have an $800 laptop that's not even meant for gaming, and I can run Cod4, 5, MW2, BO1 on it with high textures and at 75-120 fps. So a lot of people can play these older cod's on PC
Unfortunately, most of these games don't have players/servers on SA, so I always had to play on NA servers, and for some reason, the lag is very noticeable. With MW19/22 I have no problems when I find a match on NA, but in previous games or other games like CSGO, lag is really noticeable when you're on other region. On other note, the inclusion of crossplay in modern games brought a new life to PC gaming as a whole.
Blops 4 was so underrated but the installation req killed it. Such a shame, was really my favorite cod since the classic era and honestly i really like blackout. Its a shame you literally cant even play it anymore.
I refuse to believe that "legal issues" are a thing for a potential plutonium BO3 client if S1X is a thing + Maurice's project. I'm probably crazy but I genuinely believe the plutonium team wants to enforce the "golden days" "nostalgia" "cod died after bo2" average cod player mindset on everyone and just force people to play the x360/ps3 games, completely screwing over people like myself who enjoy the previous generation of cod (from AW to BO4) and genuinely dislike the janky and slow movement, unbalanced, humanly impossible to react lightning fast ttk of the old games. The BO3 and BO4 MP communities deserve better. Good video.
I see what you mean, but I think there is a grey area with the legality and Activision. Reason being, you still have to pay for a lot of things in the newer games, and giving them out for free may be an issue. Sure there's ways to get around it, I don't know how, but I'm sure there's reasons to how it all works

Noted!! I know you can still play BO3 zombies and is definitely worth getting in to as there's so many different ways for it to be played. Matter of fact, I played DE for the first time a few months back and had a fkn blast with it. I do think he makes a good point about content creators getting their games crashed and such but in most cases people are fine to game it. I did mention the fixes at least for mp, thank you for the heads up man! Much appreciated :)
I'm not sure if anybody else has made any comments on this but for black ops 3 there is a patch that is still very reliable from personal experience if anyone is looking at this I'll do my best to respond to anything about it
This is why I'm thankful PC has crossplay with console. CoD on PC was an absolute joke compared to their console counterparts back in the day and not everyone can just go out and buy a console for just one game, and we sure as hell wouldn't do it for CoD of all games. Now PC has hit a point where you can have a more than enjoyable experience without worryig about the game dying after 3 months of release.

Apparently, around the time the BO3/IW update was released, there was also an update for BO4, which crashes the game when you enter the Black Market.
I honestly don't know how they screwed up THREE games at once, making one of them completely unplayable lmao

Wow, great content :) Which one would you recommend in the following scenario: the main interest is to play casually against bots in multiplayer mode with a good variety of maps (so, finding other people to play is not a huuge factor). The campaign is not a factor to consider at all. Also something that can run in an average computer and ideally is not a huge beast with hundreds of Gb, but it's still somewhat modern and not buggy (and available in Steam). Tks!
It pains me so much to see the games that I truly have an attachment to and would love to go back and try to re-live (Black Ops 3, IW and Black Ops 4) are broken/unplayable ☹️. Really holding out hope for clients for these. ESPECIALLY the masterpiece that is Black Ops 3 considering the insanely saddening state it has unfortunately fallen into.

I went back and tried CoD4 again recently. The community is completely different to how it was back in the day. I think it's pretty much exclusively people who moved over from console.

Reminder, WW2 on PC does not have AA/TA for controller players, not in regular MP anyway. Only in the SP and ZM will you get aim assist. BO4 also lacks AA/TA entirely on PC. Additionally, only CoDs after AW have proper FOV sliders. AW only goes up to 90, Ghosts only does like 80 max. There's no FOV changer for AW currently, not for MP that won't get you banned. There's FOV changers for the older titles like MW2/3 and BO1/2 which won't get you banned. Ghosts also has a FOV/FPS unlock tool which is VAC-safe. Flawless Widescreen can also change the FOV, up to 90, and fixes the aspect ratio for 21:9 and beyond. It is also safe to use from my experience. I don't know about Ghosts' SP, but chances are if it's safe for MP it's safe for SP as well.
IW on PC has messed up keybinds, both up and down for mouse wheel are bound to "wepnext" (or weap), you need to open the keybinds config file and change one of them (or any other key you'd want to use for weapon switching) to "wepprev". May need to make it read-only too, can't recall. WW2 has the same issue, except you cannot force it to use the same command, it's locked and won't work. Speaking of config files, triple monitor support is broken, at times anyway I believe, for WW2's SP. It works fine in the MP exe, but in SP you can only choose "dual" for some reason. I swear I once had triple as option in SP, but it's just gone now. You can force triple via the config file. Setting the mode to "tri" and then saving it and making it read-only should make it work. FOV is limited based on screen mode, in triple screen mode it's very limited and the 115~ FOV (vertical 95) will basically span all 3 screens. This does not apply to BO3, BO4 or IW, they all work fine in UW and will continue to increase the FOV. BO4 has broken lighting effects and lens flares are based on your horizontal screen width, so you'll be blinded on maps like IX or Tag.

Imagine if the devs decided "You know what, lets go back and update the security on all the older CoDs. Better security, fewer breaches." I hate that once that years game cycle is complete and a new CoD comes out, they just abandon that game. At least they fixed console MW3's matchmaking years later, why cant they do that to more games but update the security. Don't even get me started on console BO2. I'd pay good money for them to go back to the game and update its security so there are fewer hackers and infection users. At least go back and break the theatre mode. Yeah the newer CoDs don't have this issue thanks to stuff like Ricochet and other better security measures, but I feel like us veteran CoD nerds should at least be rewarded with a remaster of the older CoDs WITH better security and stuff

I'm probably one of the very few people keeping world at war on PC alive for the number of servers you can find for coop anyway. I've been doing the custom zombies maps since i got the game on disc in 2009/2010. I bought in on steam before the keys issue so im "grandfathered in". Unfortunately, the modded zombies scene isnt really drawing in new people much anymore :(

BO2 PC is all dedicated servers btw. Incredibly rare to have any peer to peer games. BO3 steam counts are tricky to base anything off cause campaign, zombies and mp are all grouped into one so play count won't always be what's expecred
gotcha! thanks for the info on BO2. Also yeah that's the case with BO3 and IW, just shows the total count across all game modes. Mentioned it a good number of times that most of the BO3 population I'd assume is on for custom zombies haha

As someone who plays Bo3 pretty much daily still (mainly Zombies) so idk how bad the MP is, i can tell you, yes there are aton of ppl who use MXT (the Mod Menu that is used against RUclipsr etc) but they mainly use it for get prestige unlock alls and market place/gobble gums stuff. As of the Crashing stuff, the main Problem with this Menu, is that there is a "Pre saved" list with alot of Streamers etc, the avg player isnt in that, the Guy with the Menu would need to be in your Game and make a Custom list while you are in the Game, it doesnt save your ID when you leave, so in 99.9% if you encounter one, he prob wont do it and crash you later.
I gotcha! I'm very aware of the MXT tool, good to know that the average player isn't saved in the list. I think MrTLex showed off the list in his video I showcased which showcases your exact point. Thanks so much man, I'll let people know :)

well now you do! I heard the stutter issue was pretty hit or miss with zombies; some people had it but others didn't. At one point I didn't have any problems with zombies! But hopefully the stutter fix helps you :)

Y'all, I have an $800 laptop that's not even meant for gaming, and I can run Cod4, 5, MW2, BO1 on it with high textures and at 75-120 fps. So a lot of people can play these older cod's on PC
that's a great point, a lot of the older cods don't take an insane rig to play these games

Unfortunately, most of these games don't have players/servers on SA, so I always had to play on NA servers, and for some reason, the lag is very noticeable.
With MW19/22 I have no problems when I find a match on NA, but in previous games or other games like CSGO, lag is really noticeable when you're on other region.
On other note, the inclusion of crossplay in modern games brought a new life to PC gaming as a whole.
Yeah the lag is going to be very noticeable in different countries, I believe Pluto BO2 and IW4X have some SA servers, but I'm not too sure.
Blops 4 was so underrated but the installation req killed it. Such a shame, was really my favorite cod since the classic era and honestly i really like blackout. Its a shame you literally cant even play it anymore.

I refuse to believe that "legal issues" are a thing for a potential plutonium BO3 client if S1X is a thing + Maurice's project. I'm probably crazy but I genuinely believe the plutonium team wants to enforce the "golden days" "nostalgia" "cod died after bo2" average cod player mindset on everyone and just force people to play the x360/ps3 games, completely screwing over people like myself who enjoy the previous generation of cod (from AW to BO4) and genuinely dislike the janky and slow movement, unbalanced, humanly impossible to react lightning fast ttk of the old games. The BO3 and BO4 MP communities deserve better. Good video.
I see what you mean, but I think there is a grey area with the legality and Activision. Reason being, you still have to pay for a lot of things in the newer games, and giving them out for free may be an issue. Sure there's ways to get around it, I don't know how, but I'm sure there's reasons to how it all works

Matter of fact, I played DE for the first time a few months back and had a fkn blast with it. There were hackers even in the last video I made on it in early 2022 LOL it's tragic, I didn't even know about the shop glitch thing
This is why I'm thankful PC has crossplay with console. CoD on PC was an absolute joke compared to their console counterparts back in the day and not everyone can just go out and buy a console for just one game, and we sure as hell wouldn't do it for CoD of all games. Now PC has hit a point where you can have a more than enjoyable experience without worryig about the game dying after 3 months of release.

double check your refresh rate + sync every frame option, be sure that's on 'no'
NOTE: almost on every client cod you can play with bots if you want, some have it build in ,some needs the mod or command keep that on mind.
