- A must-see conversation from 2008 with actor/writer HARVEY FIERSTEIN, the great star of HAIRSPRAY. Fierstein won a Tony Award for his performance in the hit musical, which opened in 2002. He left it in 2004, but returned to the show for its last months before its 2009 closing.

How lucky we were to grow up when Theater Talk was on the air. I’m an actor and playwright now and I’m constantly coming back to this show for inspiration.

Yes, we are posting things slowly, but I will keep an eye out for that one and get it up here.
Yeah I think it sucks😢 we need more hairspray we need more good representation in the world. We need more shows like Shadowhunters we need more shows like Roswell New Mexico 2019. If it were not for Harvey we wouldn't have such an amazing shows today that have good lgbtq representation thank you Harvey.😊❤🎉
