Talks about how fitness equipment, this guy says "Strenth training equipment had not [progressed]. We went from lifting rocks to metal plates." What's wrong with metal plates? As long as they're balanced and the weight is accurately labeled, they seem to be perfectly functional tools to overload on a wide variety of exercises.

If it gets somebody into working out, that’s cool. But a decent garage gym and good diet will get you farther along all day every day
In an ideal world, we all have enough room in our garages for our car and a gym, or a spacious house for all those one/few movement machines. Or we all have time to go to a gym during off-peak hours. Or we all have enough cash and schedule flexibility to accommodate a personal trainer. None of this exists in my world, or most anyone I know. Tonal has kept me on track, kept me from falling into a strength-training rut, and gone far above and beyond getting me to my fitness goals (long-distance, multi-day hiking and long-distance biking and bikepacking). Everyone needs to find their own way to fitness, and I'm grateful to Tonal for being the method that has worked better for me than anything else.

There are tons of lower body movements (and upper/core) and dedicated workouts on the Tonal. It's made a noticeable difference for me in many ways.
I can tell Vice ran out of money for this channel pretty fast. It's better that they just ended it.

As a student sports scientist I'm not the highest on the list of relevant opinions, however this tonal technology isn't going to dramatically change people's fitness. It's more likely to put them in debt as it's probably seriously expensive.
People have exercise equipment in the house that just sits there doing nothing ... this Vice ad is preposterous
Ikr? It's a better investment to get an actual certified trainer. If social interaction is the issue, do it virtually! It's more common these days.
It changed mine 100%, actually. I say this as someone who already is very active. It's about the cost of a quality gym membership (not, say, the $10/year deal for a gym with half the equipment broken all the time).

This is kinda a cool idea.. Like the people in the ad don’t come across like douchbags, very futureistic and all.
All I want is a 9 x 9 space out on the ground in whatever the elements. Maybe a rock and a tree. I’d rather listen to this computer (the human system; the most sophisticated electromagnetic machine on the planet).
