Scott Gorham never gets accolades...he held everything together...awesome precise guitar player. Moore was a one man band, could do anything with a guitar. Great combo.
RIP Gary Moore: He actually had a great voice. I always loved his voice. No falsetto stuff, but he had a natural Jazz/Blues tonality or timbre. Of course he was a great guitarist, which is what most people think of him really, but I always dug his soulful voice. He was Celt like me, but his voice was a gift from somewhere else that Ireland. Still Got the Blues gives me chills
His legacy will still live on long after we are all gone. I've done my bit, my 12 year old son is a fan and he will tell his childen of the legends of the guitar greats; Gary Moore, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Zack Wild, Ted Nugent, Van Halen, Carlos Santana, Dr. Brian May etc etc. Rock & Roll will never die!
The bass player looks in awe for two reasons.....1 He had to stand in as Phil Lynott roll (NOT A EASY THING TO DO) .......2 the thought of the two legends infront of him......BUT if he was not any good he would not be on the stage with them. A++
I saw Thin Lizzy in 1978 in Nashville TN along with Eddie Money and Journey! What a concert. Needless to say, Thin Lizzy knew they had to kick some butt cause they were the opening act, and OH HOW THEY ROCKED!
Thin Lizzy was one of my favorite bands in those days, and I love to see stuff like this. Keeping the great music alive....How can anybody rate this with a thumbs down, unbelievable.
Like Ronnie James Dio I just kind of expected Gary Moore to live forever. Can't wait to get to Rock & Roll Heaven and hear what Jimi, Gary, Phil, Gary Thain and John Bonham sound like.
Scott Gorham and Gary Moore, the two best Lizzy guitarists! (in my open onion) With God of drums Brian Downey, such a gig that was. Brian Robertson and Bell were top class too. I feel privileged to be able to say I was there. After the gig my ears detached and ascended to the heavens, saying simply: "Our work here is done..."
Gary Moore has always been one of my favorite guitar players! I did get to see him in concert back in 1985 when I was stationed in Germany! Rest in Peace Gary, you will be missed!!!!
Great to see two of Phil's old sparring partners having fun. This song holds so many dear memories for me. Walking past the local coffee bar where the bikers used to hang out as this was blaring form the jukebox. A genuine rock anthem. God bless you Phil, much missed.
It's like Gary and the boys were on a runaway train. Powerhouse guitars and great drumming. This is what rock is all about and a live performance meant to shake the hell out of you.
He sang a song for all of use, he held his head up high, and when the notes they did fly we all began to cry, and now my friend I will play a song for all the days you are away, I will look for you to pass this way, and until the day we meet again my heart will be filled with sorrow. RIP Mr. Moore
Was visiting England from Canada and got tickets yo see Gary in Oxford at the Apollo unbelievable energy andd my cousin bumped into him in variety store before concert..he was buying taffy and got his autograph super friendly
RIP Phil Lynott (August 20, 1949 - January 4, 1986), aged 36 And RIP Gary Moore (April 4, 1952 - February 6, 2011), aged 58 You both will be remembered as legends.
I was lucky enough to see Lynott/Moore/Gorham & Downey as TL in 1978 at the Hammersmith Odeon in London. Still the best live concert I have ever seen. Legends is a word used too easily these days but for these guys it just sums up how good they were/are.
Couldn't find this video for the longest time. Used to watch " One Night In Dublin " concert all the time then it was gone for copyright reasons. Gary, Scott, Brian and the bass player kicking ass on a R & R classic. Wish they would bring the whole concert video back.
Impossible to listen to this music and remember Heath Ledger's great movie "A knight's tale"... God have Thin Lizzy and Heath Ledger both in the Almighty Heaven !!! RIP AND GOD BLESS YOU ALL...
there is no Thin Lizzy...The Gary Moore show will have to due....Pompous or not...the song lives on...live and let live....peace...Long live REAL Rock And Roll...
WOW! to see aging rockers outperforming the new artists from the Beiber generation ... watch and learn kids ... evidently quality never goes out of style
The voice of Thin Lizzy's bass player had an energy that he took to the grave and is second to none in his gender. Of course Gary takes the vacuum and fills it in the way he can. Way to go, Gary!
Disagree. If Phil wasn't able to be there - which he most obviously wasn't - who better than his friend and ex-colleague to do the honours. Moore had the vocal chops to sing lead and his singing voice was close enough to Lynott's to make these performances work really well. Also impressed by Scott doing the second vocal on his own; the first time I've ever heard him sing as an individual rather than half of a pair - the guy's not at all bad!
@@Maltloaflegrande You are an idiot, How many guitar players were in Thin Lizzy??? I said Gary was the best guitar player but Phil only wrote virtually all the TL songs. Admit you are only 100% wrong. When Phil died so did Thin Lizzy unless you think The Eagles with one original member Henley are the Eagles or Marshall Tucker without Toy Caldwell are a great band or Lynyryrd Skynyrd are a fantastic group with only Gary Rossington. You probably think the Core Four with two percussion players and no Jerry Garcia are the lineal descendants of the Grateful Dead. You are a moron. Scott was from California wasn';t he?? I think Thin Lizzy was an Irish band.By the way Scott couldn't carry Gary's guitar strap. Last I checked Elvis was from Memphis not Dublin.
Inquiry 7. I merely said I disagreed. That's an opinion rather than a blanket dismissal of your subjective views. Note also, the absence of playground name-calling. This concert was, I believe, one fronted by Gary Moore as a tribute to his old friend and thus not purporting to actually be "Thin Lizzy". For what it's worth (just my opinion, remember), I reckon both Gary and Scott, as well as the often-maligned Robbo, did some sterling work with Lizzy; of course, many of us have favourites but they were all different in their own way and all, from my point of view, a massive asset to Phil who, as you so rightly point out, was the central core of the band. As for them being an "Irish band". It depends on how you interpret that phrase. From '74 onwards, no further new members were Irish and I'm sure nobody actually forced Lynott and Downey to recruit from elsewhere. It's a shame you dislike Gorham's playing (my interpretation of "Scott couldn't carry Gary's guitar strap') bearing in mind it's on every Thin Lizzy album from "Nightlife" onwards. Just a suggestion Inq, but you might want to consider cutting back on the troll-issms and wildly inaccurate predictions as to what someone you don't know thinks; it COULD be argued that such puerility proves little or nothing. Thanks for giving me an extra excuse to enjoy this excellent vid again. Peace and good vibes.
Saw Gary play back in the late 80's .... part of a bill including Gary and Ace Frehely .... dude was great....STILL GOT THE BLUES one of my all time favorite albums. Heaven done called another six stringer back home!
See this on TV watched now 31 time just so uplifting and don't forget the Drummer and fantastic bass player awsome inspiring an overwhelming feeling of reverence
Love the enthusiasm of the bloke @ 0.07 secs. Here's somebody who's waited years for this song to be played live again.I know the feeling very well.Great show only caught it when channel hopping on sky arts, got it on KEEP now and watch it regularly.
Look a the Crowd... From young till "Old" He has made real music... It´s a shame that all artists wich made "real" Music die.... I hope God has fun with all of them... I think if it goes further like this the Best Musik will be heard in heaven... R..I.P. Gary
My mom used to play this song full blast when all 6 of us boys came to visit her during Holidays. For over 50 years. RIP Mom.
Very lucky to have a mom that cool...know that she smiles upon all of you boys now...
Cool.
My mom had 4 boys, we're all married with families, this warms my heart ❤️
You had a cool Mom!
She will smile in the heaven.
Two legends gone from us! Phil Lynott and Gary Moore. Rip Gentlemen.

Yeah wow what a night.
So would I if I was there.
I knew who you were talking about before I looked back at the beginning.
True❤🎉🎉
Such a great version. Gary and Scott both looked like they were having fun with it.
The best version.Amazing YEAH
Scott Gorham never gets accolades...he held everything together...awesome precise guitar player. Moore was a one man band, could do anything with a guitar. Great combo.
They were best of friends---you could read it!

You can tell Gary and Scott are having so much fun up there. They're playing those harmonizing riffs like its 1978 all over again.
I was born in 2004 but u know the boys are back in town
same :)
RIP Gary , the only comforting with this is that at last Gary and Phil are playing together in Heaven!
Great to see Brian Downey again - such an underrated drummer with a great style.
I know it seems cliche, but its so cool to have Moore and Gorham saying "The boys are back in town" after all these years.
The bass player looks in awe for two reasons.....1 He had to stand in as Phil Lynott roll (NOT A EASY THING TO DO) .......2 the thought of the two legends infront of him......BUT if he was not any good he would not be on the stage with them. A++
And one legend on the drums
☮️

This is just fine pure music at it's finest! Granted Phil isn't there, but no one could do finer than Gary Moore.
Thin Lizzy was one of my favorite bands in those days, and I love to see stuff like this. Keeping the great music alive....How can anybody rate this with a thumbs down, unbelievable.
Baaargh.. Why do all the good musicians have to die?! I'm 17 and never got to see Gary or Phil live. RIP you two!
Rest in peace Gary Moore, and let your voice and guitar ring into the future generations!
Like Ronnie James Dio I just kind of expected Gary Moore to live forever. Can't wait to get to Rock & Roll Heaven and hear what Jimi, Gary, Phil, Gary Thain and John Bonham sound like.
We will always have the blues for you, Gary! RIP
I missed Gary visiting Gibraltar by 3 days. He died 30 mins away, I'll always remember you Gary. RIP!
Doesn't get any better than this. Fantastic. RIP Gary & Phil

Same here but was 86 for me. Shy opened for them

Scot is, was, and always will be: THE MAN!
It's like Gary and the boys were on a runaway train. Powerhouse guitars and great drumming.
This is what rock is all about and a live performance meant to shake the hell out of you.
I never tire of this tune. Just so classic
Scott is one of the great players also. Like Gary, a huge influence.
He was the glue that held it all together. Severely underrated.
RIP to a blues legend, will never be forgotten, Gary Moore
Did he do "I've got a secret" on TV before he discovered rock?
This is one of those iconic songs that get every time.
Musicians are one of the few people on earth who, the older they get the better they get ! These guys still Fn' Kickn ASS ! PHIL FOREVER!
Song for the ages.

Agreed and Scott Gorham is also very under estimated.. Fantastic together..
my tears still comming. Rip Gary
The boys are back in town that survived their time in the jungle.
They are wounded mind and soul for their brothers left behind.
Few acknowledge the fallen who can't even find "Nam" on the map.
Impossible to listen to this music and remember Heath Ledger's great movie "A knight's tale"...
God have Thin Lizzy and Heath Ledger both in the Almighty Heaven !!!
RIP AND GOD BLESS YOU ALL...
Brian Downey great on this & Emerald, underrated drummer
