Dude, I love how you superimpose the kicks in the bottom corner, that's fantastic. Nice breakdowns of each beat, I just got my first double kick to play with a metal band after 2 decades of single kick triplets for punk rock bands. Loving it so far.

Honestly, hammer blast for me is way more difficult than traditional blast. Somehow slapping everything in unison really tightly is more finicky.

How times change... I remember when it was an absolute "no-no" hitting the snare and kick at the same time except for an ending shot, that's what my late drum teacher said, but it was 30 years ago. I think that you are an excellent drummer, almost next level. Thumbs up!

I like how you actually show and explain what's going on with the pedals. Almost every drum tutorial I've ever seen forgets that part.
I really do think the "pussy blast" sounds great when used right. On slower, stompier riffs it let's the kick and snare keep up the speed but the slower cymbal work slows the feel down.

I think the best piece of advice in the video is to start sloooooowly. I'm mean, it's ok to go ridiculously slow at the beginning to really understand where each hit is occurring. It takes months, even years, to go to fast tempi.

I don't know if you've ever done it... ut an in depth hand technique video would be sweet. I'd love to know your take on approaching certain things.
Got a couple questions if possible:
What kind of hand technique do you use? German or American grip
and do you use your hip flexors for fast double bass?

I love how you make the bass and snare alternating look so easy haha...It doesn't look hard to most but it really is difficult to alternate between your L hand and R leg.

ImDeadLlama honestly just practicing the grav blast for like a month and it’s like down. Attempt to do it for like 10 minutes everyday and you’ll eventually get it. At the beginning it’s mostly about what you can do physically and physically getting the form down. Once you get that then you start trying to master triplets sixeteenth notes and changing up rythm with it.
This was the very very first thing I could do on drums
Gravity blast is the easiest blast.... It takes a day to learn if you try enough
The Erratic Drummer yes, doing it like as fast as you can is something worth a day while getting do go right to other rythms and stuff like that is a bit hardwr
Grav blasting is easy just don't let it intimidate you

It helps not only beginners. I use to play drums for a long time but was more into rock, prog or thrash metal. Wasn't doing blast beats at all. I recently got more into death and black metal so this video is very usefull. Thanks for the lesson!
